The stock ECU is fine. No issues
Motec is an awesome ECU company used extensively through auto racing with ability to control and change anything you wire it to, but that seems to be too big of a sandbox to jump into this quickly for the team

I guess I see where you're coming from, but I'd love to hear what components you feel they should have chosen that are higher quality than Renthal Sprockets and RK Chains.

I believe so, from what was said on Pulp there was a industry politics reason why there’s a different ECU for the USA team
I didn't know who they were using but it looked bad but with those suppliers I'd be looking somewhere else like excess play in the chain or swing arm flex to break a tooth or teeth off of a sprocket or break a chain. If the chain climbs a sprocket, it would be easy to break a chain or a tooth on a sprocket. Maybe the ECU is causing a misfire and then it comes back on and hits and possibly damages the chain/sprocket. What size chain are they running? You would think it would be 520 HD or similar but does anyone know?
The production bike doesn't use the same ECU as the race team, it's from a different manufacturer.
If the Triumph is breaking chains and ripping teeth off of the sprocket, I suspect it’s a bike problem, not an aftermarket part problem. That tells me that there’s an issue with the movement of that swingarm under load.
The whole sprocket/chain thing sounds fishy to me.
I thought Steve said a rock got into the countershaft sprocket and damaged it at Southwick.
You could see in the Southwick broadcast that the the sprocket was certainly missing a chain on the rear when they were pushing the bike away, could of been as simple as a rock or something derailing the chain I guess.
And yes the race bikes are running the Motec stuff and the production bikes are on Athena ECUs, I also remember hearing maybe from Pulp that it was some kind of politics issue.
What is odd is that Athena is GET but the Triumph is marketed as having a Athena ECU not a GET ECU?
Very common symptom of sprocket bolts not torqued properly .
Surprised this has three downvotes... mount martin shows who's got it and who doesn't.
They don't hate what I say, they just hate ME... Mt. Martin has always been a benchmark for 250's on who could jump the uphill triple and who can't.
Remember the old Elsinors had frame and swingarm flex that caused the chains to break, derail and or sprocket damage.
Maybe Ferry left cause he knew the bikes were time bombs and didn't want to get hurt from a bike failure.
