Bummer. RIP. Good times watching him rip around Perris on a Cagiva 125 in 1987.

RIP.😢

Oh no!

Its been so weird... that the past 2 weeks, interviews with him have been popping up in my Youtube feed and now this!

Oh man, the one recent interview i watched he didnt look too healthy. Overweight, a bit nervous and jumpy. So sad for his family and friends.

I always dug his story of going over to Europe, admired him for it and he appeared to be VERY well liked over there.

RIP Gunner.

Will never forget watching you as a kid fly your XR500 farther than anyone off a sender of a jump at the Elsinore Grand Prix in the mid 90's. Absolute legend

I remember him racing the Troy Ohio MX national on a Cagiva.   I was cheering for him and hoping he did well.  Can’t remember the year and couldn’t find any results for him in “The Vault” so he must not have qualified.  Loved the gear he was wearing.

RIP Mike.  Too many guys exiting this life early.

When I was 10 years old espn had a mx race from Carlsbad. I got a vhs tape and recorded it. Was like 1989 or 1990. I watched it a million times. Mike Healey and “The Rocket” Rex Staten are forever embedded in my mind. Sad for his passing but thankful for the great memories.

Healy and Huffman in the same week. Not a good week at all . Godspeed to both , and you'll be missed.

Rest easy and peace for your family.

This is the random interview that popped up in my Youtube feed a few weeks ago.

Mike Goodwin was a promoter that started SX. He’s the one who was incarcerated for the killings of Mickey Thompson and his wife.

I haven't watched this interview with Ping but i will try to in the next week or so.

Healy, Trampis and Donny Schmidt were in my age group,... a little older... but I always admired them for going over to Europe to give it a go and have some adventures
