Off the bike I’ll probably never be a fan, admittedly I like the guys who just let their riding do the talk. On the track however, there’s no denying the kid is putting in the work and earning his way. Considering where he came from it’d be easy to get spoiled and not grind. Only thing I would add is on the whole “wait till he comes for Jett”. His Barcia esque style on the 250 may not translate well. But then again he could be the next guy that rides the 450 kind of like ET which would make for interesting racing. 🤔

I feel the same, but Deegs attitude will come around. We all said a lot of stupid things when we were 18 - he just has the burden of doing so in front of the cameras.

I haven't openly said anything here about him because I can't stand the little shit, BUT daddy's money can't buy heart, grit and balls and Haiden has an abundance of all three. I feel like barring injury he'll be the champ come the end of the season and he's earned my respect. Kid can ride the wheels off a dirt bike.

i was hopping to clarify my view on him with this race, but in fact, i saw more of the same.....

i admit i dont like the kid, dont like how he conducts himself and what he stands for, never like the father either, specially now when he talks over his sons success as if he has  been there and done that....i see them as marketing clowns for a market i avoid ....

still i always make an effort to separate the man from the racer....i follow motocross not media stars....and as a racer i see a very talented kid, giving all he got and willing to do everything to win.....sometimes even a bit to much i think ...!!!

and thats why i am not "sold" yet, i still see him going over the line and risking it a lot more then what he should, still does stupid mistakes, and when the tracks get ruff and technical he still does a lot of small mistakes and his results suffer from it.....just last moto, that scrub in the first lap worked and went viral, but its still stupid to do in my view, he saved it in extremis  but if no,t it could have been bad......he didnt need that, not over kitchen anyway.....like i see a lot of people here saying, about the young guns of mx2, they are really fast, but they drop it a lot.......hasnt deegan drop it on almost every race this year ?? specially on the 2nd moto?? .....when you risk it that much the chances get bigger , both ways......look at Jett, a stupid mistake and and an, almost sure, championship win could have gone out the wind, and he risks it a lot less then Deegan....

if he humbles down a bit and starts to improve his racecraft and his perception of what the race is asking from him, then i will give to him the "crown", as of now, yes he is wicked fast and a favorite to win in a 250, but not always and not anywhere yet.......

The guy rips, plain and simple. Best scrubs and most effort out of everyone. The result was top podium!

He's Bob Hannah all over again. From riding on the ragged edge, to late moto domination, all the way to trash talking/poking guys in the ribs on the podium.

Couldn't stand the kid as an amateur as I assumed he was just a spoiled rich kid who hadn't earned anything. I was wrong...it all changed for me last year seeing him ride in person at Washougal. Also impressed with how he interacted with his fans (especially the young kids)...big fan ever since. Sometimes the podium speeches can be a bit cringe worthy, but shit...he's 18. I can't imagine the dumb stuff I would have said at 18 if anyone put a mic in front of me.

I’ve always been a fan of his riding, he is amazing to watch… I just wish he let his riding do more of the talking.

450 class is going to get good. Soon.

Is Deegan definitely going to spend all of 2025 on a 250?

That first moto was amazing. And then he pressured Vialle into that crash. Masterful performance.

I think his dad does what I used to do at the line: see that kid down there Haiden?

I heard him talking to his dad and said you were a chump and he was going to whip you.

That other boy said you were a  F*&&OTT!

naaah pretty sure it's just the haters that are growing old.

He didn't say anything about "haters" what he did say was about those that doubted him at Southwick and I think he was specifically talking about the person that was holding the mic.....

I love the kid for a couple reasons. First and foremost he rides mach 3 with his hair on fire late in motos when everyone else is loosing their edge. Second he says things that really rile up the natives especially on this board.

The speculative storylines are really getting old, especially when it’s during the race. The media also can’t let go one either. Can’t imagine dealing with that week after week as a racer.

JT clearly lives in his own head (as do most in western/modern civilization).

“I think…”

I propose the broadcast team and maybe media guys get to ride the track on press day. Load a semi up with everyone’s bikes and put it on the carousel 🎠

The industry needs built in throttle therapy to get out of mind and into the body.

We may see a lot less projecting. And we’d get to see more of Stew in his natural habitat.

IMHO "doubters" is Deganspeak for haters. Two significant things I noticed after his meltdown that changed. The broadcast team no longer calls him dangerboy and he tries very hard not to use the word haters.

Not sure who could doubt his ability to do anything other than win a championship at this point. When he uses it again one has to wonder who he is exactly speaking to considering the last of the "Southwick Doubters" have been silenced.

I'll go one step further. For now, Haiden, his supportive parents/family, the Star team, and others in his circle are focused on this championship, and a SMX championship of '24.

But I'm sure his dad has told him since possibly a young age that he can be a 450 Champion. I'm sure Haiden himself has dreamed and thought about it himself. To be at the top of the sport.

I'm not trying to get ahead of where he's at now. Just that what we've seen so far is to them a short term goal, to the ultimate goal that they have probably had conversations of (even as an amateur kid). I believe that's what drives Haiden, his family, his team. This young racer we're watching wants to be champion of the whole enchilada someday. He's stopping at nothing to get there. Barring injury or someone else stepping up with the same mindset, and delivering, Haiden may be that guy coming for it all in just a couple more years.

I wish he rode green!! Laughing

It's amazing what you can accomplish with a chip on your shoulder. NFL players who don't get drafted where they thought they should've do it all the time. Negative energy eventually peters out. But if you can turn the corner and be positive the sky is the limit. 🏆

JT nailed it. He rides like he came from and has nothing. He has a raging fire in his gut.

That was JS7, I believe.  But, yeah.

That was a great analogy , and true. Kid has some serious fire in him out there. No amount of money can buy that.

The insecure voice in his head telling him he’s not enough.
