I mean, Deegan bike was smoking that last couple laps
I was just gonna say Deegan’s bike was seriously not working right that very last lap and it was smoking
Looked like it was working fine. Got him to the podium with no issues. Smith and Anstie both failed sound, wouldn’t be far fetched to believe deegan was also going to fail
Tim Cotter is looking into this. 🤣🤣

Results are official so if true it didn’t affect the results…are we reaching here?
i enjoy listening to, and watching them do sound tests, but i think its dumb that they get penalized for failing AFTER motos.
Let's wait and see what cooksey has to say before we jump to conclusions
Well as you always like to say. Let's wait until we hear the facts.
I agree
I watched the most recent cooksey video from start to finish today for the first time in a long time.
🆗🆒
I heard Jett pissed hot at the drug test but on the way out of the trailer he said "yeah no, soory mate, it's just kangaroo tranquilizer, I didn't know we couldn't take that"
So they let him ride
…his Yamaha sounded a little rough at the end of the moto,
If it really did break, it wouldn’t be the first 250f to suffer at Southwick, a couple years ago all of Pro Circuit’s bikes failed…
Hmmm not a conspiracy theorist, but wasn’t the excuse for having to remove the factory engine prior to the bike claiming saga two years back because the engine had suddenly blown up?
Sure Deegan’s bike was running hot a couple of laps from the end, but after he backed off on the last lap it stopped boiling. He was able to ride to the podium tent and still give it a celebratory rev on the limiter, but couldn’t do a sound check?!
Regardless, doing sound checks after the race is stupid.
I think they sound check after because someone could make a "temporary" modification to the exhaust designed to deteriorate during the race, adding a little extra hp.
"We found something this week."
Am I smoking crypto? All the sound check penalties came out of first qualifying session. Max and some other Star guys lost their fast lap. I too thought it was weird that Deegan didn’t fail the sound check (maybe he wasn’t checked?). But it was all handled before the 2nd qualifier. Did they do more sound checks and dish out more penalties?
Since is was cloudy and probably humid, they were stricter on the sound. That's what I remember from Matthes' review pod.

If they are failing with a sound check map, then they must be proper loud.
Don’t know how AMA does it, but in Sweden and other countrys the bike is allowed to sound 1-2DB’s higher after the moto to compensate for hot engine and burned out packing in the silencer.
I have zero problems with a sound test after the moto with those rules.
What are you saying.....I can't hear you
Agree those rules are common sense, so I doubt that’s what the AMA does 😂
Why are we suddenly failing sound checks? What changed over the break?
Sounds about right for the ama
I know the FIM is really tightening up sound requirements for next year. Do FIM sound requirements affect AMA racing?
The sound tests have always been sort of mysterious to me. I have a YZ250F and it was stock, I don't know how it could ever pass any sound check. Now that is has mods, it seems even louder (but less raspy.) Everyone always talks about the Star 250s and how loud they are. And seeing them race in person, they seem to be the loudest bikes. So how do they ever pass any sound check in the first place? And when they do fail, then it just makes me wonder why this time compared to others? It's all very confusing.
Good to see ama actually doing there job and catching people cheating with sound. There’s a sound limit before and after the race that they have to meet. Most teams have a sound map for before the race so maybe they got to them before they were able to switch it after the Moto
Star bikes are by far the loudest and it isn’t a stretch to see them fail. The thing that cracks me up about the “decibel test” is that the factory bikes have a retarded neutral and the bike doesn’t rev out like normal. They circumvent (go AMA go) the entire test. Been going on for years. Pretty funny
I have a ton of funny stories about the AMA and sound check from when it got implemented back in 2012ish. Stock bikes wouldn’t pass sound either. We were stuffing extra rags in the air box of the Hondas at Arlington, and Travis Bannister borrowed my 32mm socket and stuck it in his mid pipe to pass. So many funny stories
