DD, you would think with as on top of the stats as you are you would be following pulpmx on Twitter for some more scoops. B Hep said he's got no plans for the outdoors currently.

Yep he's in college. Still murders, and I mean murders the local pros. I'd be willing to bet if someone threw the right dollar sign out there we'd see him again, but with the economy that'll never happen anytime soon.

Broc was one talented dude. That man could ride a bike-still can of course. Bummer for him with all the injuries. He was one of the top guys for sure.

If his example is not a wake up call to everyone who dreams of becoming a pro MX'er then I do not know what can be said.

He went from a Yamaha factory ride, to out of the professional circuit in a year. Yes the economy sucks and he probably was offered rides that he declined for whatever reason. But still, to go from a race winner (yes, often injured) and champion contender to basically retirement in such a short span is really sad.

He probably made enough money in salary and the few bonuses he did get riding to at least have a nest egg to start another venture in life (start a business, invest, etc.). Thankfully he still has options at a young age. Which is better than 99% of those who are his age. But, to think of what could have been....

He seems like a great kid, whatever happens I wish him the best and with the smarts he seems to have he should go far.

I think it's a good decision. I don't know if I would want to be a professional being in his shoes.

Too bad. But there is life outside of motocross and I hope he has a great one.

That is amazing that a year ago he was factory yamaha and doing really well, and now he is retired. He still ahs the ability to be a top pro and race winner imo.

probably one of the biggest "could have beens" ever. He ran with Stewie on 125s on several occasions, and when healthy he had no problem beating RV outdoors. He should be winning races right now.

Seems like Broc has some very good people behind him and involved in his decision making. He stayed in school through his AM days and now he is going to college instead of risking the possibility of a life long injury. Good for him.

I had heard a while back that he planned to do the outdoors backed by Cernics, but I think he is making the right decision. He has taken waaay too many wacks to the dome, couple were pretty hard too! Now it wont even take much of a hit to really jack him up again. Steve Young knew it wasnt worth it to keep going and risk permanent/serious consequences. Broc is doing the right thing!

WOW!!!!!!! SHOCKER!! Seriously, i never would have thought that someone with his speed and someone that definitely could be a championship contender in any class, and so young, would decide to quit, man that sucks. Maybe he is just over getting injured?

What i do find cool is that he chooses to ride a two stroke, if he chooses to ride that, doesn't that prove that all weekend warriors probably should too? I mean, there is no doubt that most average or local level riders including myself have gone four stroke because of the hype and the fact that our favourite pros are all on them, but does that mean that 4 strokes are more fun? And at the end of the day, isn't fun what we are out for? (thinking to myself, maybe its time to get back on a two stroke, but oh no, i just bought a 2010 kx250 so i'm stuck with two 4 bangers, crap...)

The results of multiple brain injuries are incredibly frightening, not only for the victim, but often even moreso for the family and close friends.

I think Broc had some good support at his back and made a good choice on his own.

Kid gets thumbs up from this corner.

Broc has had umpteen concussions and is still way smarter than most of todays pros. Why ride for chump change?

I believe he graduated from a real high school also.

He could probably still come out and win Steel City. I'm sure he'll do well in what ever he chooses to pursue.

HAHA! How bad would that suck if you're the local experts and you gotta line up against B-Hep.

I dont think anyone is bashing on him for quitting, i just think we are all such big fans that we just want to see him out there. But its understandable if he decides to go get an education for sure..

First, I am pretty sure Hepler rides a 2 stroke at the local events for the additional challenge. I had to get that in there.

He sits in the same boat, with a helmet hopefully, as Chuck Liddell (slap happy) Look what riding through 20 concussions did for Pastrana, he's the smartest guy on the planet!

Sad to see BHep go, maybe we will get to see some guest appearances at the nats.

made the right decision for the long haul for sure. No sense in riding for a fraction of what you made in a recession with that much at stake. His injury list would rival Evil Kenevil. Hopefully he socked some of that fat cat factory $ away and invested wisely.

Why would you write something so stupid and then commit it to eternal stupidity on the internet?
