I had to figure this whole thing out myself. So I can tell you this much: Saturday afternoon is qualifying laps. Only 30 riders from each class makes the night show. Then the night show heats qualify riders for the main....with the main events following pretty close after the heats. pretty much the same as SX. The main difference is...

No outdoor plans right now. Wouldn't rule it out, but Chris has a startup graphics design business (PHIT Designs) that he will put most of his energy in to this summer.

To start....Chris has spent a lot of time in Vegas the last few years. He has a bunch of local support up there and the track surface is much like Phoenix where he grew up riding. Chris has really matured this year. He started his own program this season with help from family, friends and a few loyal fans. Until...

You could have been home watching it on TV. Then you would know how bad the show was too. I was super disappointed. Half the show was racing and the rest was commercials and infomercials. I really 'get-it' that the factories pay for their riders to get air time, but I thought it was way over board last night. They...

Chappy owns his own commercial fire sprinkler business in Arizona. Carlos owns a shop in Tucson. Both are quite successful business men now. I'm not sure what Gary is doing, but know that Chappy and Gary are good friends and respect each others riding talents from 'back in the day'.

I remember Mickey Boone. But, I remember his Mom even more. She used to sit in the grandstand close to us and yell "ON and GONE, Mickey...ON and GONE". It used to crack me up. Laughing

Yeh, go figure. It just really sucked big time for Chris.Sad Especially since most of the dollars he spends to race comes out of his own pocket.

Honda wouldn't even SELL Shocked Chris a gasket. They said they might need it. GeicoSmile came through with help, but it wasn't enough to get him on the track.

Agreed. It would be hard to fill the 22 man main event gate If it weren't for the hardworking privateer programs. These young men and their sponsors deserve a lot more credit than the main stream media gives them. Sad These guys are the work horses of the industry.

Thanks. Chris needs all the support he can get this year. He's doing it the hard way...for sure. But, word from the Pits is that his new bike is still being set-up for him and not ready to race this weekend. So, you are seeing him still on the old bike in Oakland.
I would say it's good for TV ratings. So ultimately I guess I would agree with it being good for the sport from that prospective. Why do you think the tv cameras were rolling at that particular moment? They wanted to catch the 'emotion of the moment'; the thrill, the excitment, etc, etc. It's all for the TV show. However...
