You have increased the air flow and volume of air getting to the filter. I'm not a air filter engineer, but I'll take a stab at it Smile , probably time to swap in a new filter mid day on that particular track.

This. 7447 (maroon) and/or 7448 (finer/grey) work well for all aluminum frames. I like to do mine when bike washing, as a mixture of foaming Dawn soap with the Scotch-Brite makes clean up the easiest, but here’s another way to do it:

Cutting the air box seems to get the filters dirty?

Im always amazed over how clean my filters and air box is on the 24 compared to my previous bikes.

Installed the optional Kawasaki engine mounts today.   Pretty noticeable difference. Front felt more planted and bit less harsh feeling in my hands.

Really? I have twin air powerflow and my filter is twice as dirty as previous generation. Now swapping out filters mid day.

Yes that is my experience, i believe someone else mentioned it aswell here.

Is your side cover drilled air box cut? Or could it be the twin air setup?

Do you happen to have the part numbers for those engine mounts?

Nice, I didn’t know the engine mounts were out. I hear WCL has some in production too?

According to Rocky mtn, both models (450 & 450x) have the same mounts stock.

Where are you guys purchasing the optional mounts from? No stock in Australia and the only sites I’ve found overseas seem crazy expensive (more than twice the price of the stock mounts) plus a lot of shipping!

So you guys that up graded to a 24 from prev. Gen. Is it really worth it?
I know the price right now is insane! But that also lowers the value of the prev. Gen. Bikes!

One part says go for  it

the other says it’s not worth it! I mean I got a 22, with about 25 hrs, finally got suspension work for ME! But I’d really like it to turn better!  And with a 24 , I’d have to un cork it, Maybe start over with suspension, but I don’t see any complaints about the new ones! So just not sure!

I love my 24. I’ve said it before but the air filter thing is a bit janky but it’s not bad by any means just something you have to be a bit careful with during install. Overall it still feels like a Kawi to me but just does some things on the track better than my old gen Kawi.

Upgraded to DT -1 filters it has twice the coverage and sealing area then the janky OEM filter

OEM versus DT-1 filter

You are good either way. Smoking good deals on the 24,but the prev.Gen. is a great bike.

Depends what your complaints are with the 23 model..? I struggled with front end traction coming into turns and also wanted it to rev a little further. Kawi ansered both of those issues for me.

I haven't noticed any draw backs from the better front end (turning & traction) but if you prefer a more stable chassis and are ok with the power band, then I'd say no. The previous model is really good imo, just a few complaints for me that are fixed with the 24. The suspension is really close just a little more comp dampening in the clicker circuit on the new forks and a little more oil level, No big deal..

nope nothing else cut, just the grommet removed and twin air set up. we do have pretty sandy conditions here in minnesota though.

…the guys I know in NL ran the bike this past week on the dyno with various modifications. I don’t have all the details or the actual data,  but here is what I heard-

they tested a new completely stock bike just out of the crate using 102 octane pump gas. 55Hp at 9550 rpm

Same bike with air box cut out, 102 pump gas, and twin air powerflow filter - 57 hp

102 pump gas, added an HGS system and a Vortex from XPR  -62HP

still waiting to hear back if They are going to try a test with actual race fuel instead of just pump gas.

I don’t know what temperature or humidity level they were testing at, but I’m sure it wasn’t very warm in Holland.

YMMV

Here’s one….. bought a brand new pc t-6 full system. The header wouldn’t go into the engine hole. Tried it about 15 times. No matter what it wouldn’t work. Anyone have any issue with this? I called pc and they said they’ve never heard of anyone having this issue. Figured I’d ask. Thanks!

This is right in line with what we have seen. Have not tested the HGS, but Pro Circuit and Yoshimura had similar results.

How is this possible?  Other then maybe you ordered the wrong year model??

dunno? The new PC 6 exhaust pipe flange is rectangular shaped not round like previous model yrs

you also have to turn the pipe at an angle to get it to align properly before seating it to the head

took about 10 minutes to install

Ride report - PC T-6 Full System, Twin Air Powerflow Kit, cut Airbox, drilled side panel, 50/50 pump/race gas, CHA24 map on a lightly touched up ECU (buddy adjusted the AFR on a dyno). Stock gearing, 116 link chain.

Barks more off the bottom liked I’ve wanted it to from the beginning, but still hooks up. The connected feel from the throttle to the rear wheel is awesome. Linear pull all the way to overrev. Can ride a gear high or a gear low and rev it. Still doesn’t want to get away from you though, I have no apparent fears of whiskying the bike when tired. Could probably make it faster yet, but I think it’s near perfect as is. This setup is the perfect vet 450 motor. Going to look at buying some clamps in the next few months, have a few buddies who bought some and are loving them. This things is so great! One happy owner here.

It was the correct exhaust and i tried everything possible it wouldn’t line up and was hitting the frame to prevent it from seating properly. Either it was bent from shipping or a mishap from factory. I have another one en route. 👍🏼
