Suzuki & HEP | Suzuki Rising

This was posted almost 4 1/2 hours ago. I thought it deserved a response from somebody as I feel sorry for Suzuki in motocross these days. Hopefully some Suzuki diehards chime in and show some support..................

I watched this yesterday. It can only hope that these episodes are leading up to the introduction of an all new RMZ. Fingers crossed...

Fuck, just drop some lbs form the engine cases, exhaust, and put electric start on it and people would love it 

Hard to feel sorry for them when it seems like they’ve all but given up. They’ve practically given nothing to their “die hards” to keep their support going. I grew up in a different era than most in here but every Christmas I hoped for an RM85 under the tree because I was growing up while Tomac, Izzi, Trettel, etc were all on the Suzuki amateur program and it seemed like they were unstoppable. Depressing to see how much they value MX these days.

It's impressive what HEP is doing with these bikes against the full fledged factories.

Nothing wrong with Suzukis for the vast majority of people who ride/race.  

If people just rode one they would love it. Problem is 95% of the people that talk shit about them havent ridden one or think they need some Factory or Works Edition to be able to go fast and they all must have broken right legs? 

Yes i know the e-start is a thing, but overall, look at all the woes KTM and Yamaha and Honda have had in recent history of new bikes being shit or worse than the old model. Sometimes if it aint broke dont fix it can go a long ways and the RMZ is a solid example of that.

Suzuki shits on the heritage created by Robert, Geboers, DeCoster, Sheene, and Mamola. The company preys on people who are loyal to the brand and gives nothing back to the sport, virtually no offroad support, or any other racing support for that matter, no minibikes, no mx updates, Suzuki is a taker not a supporter or backer of any kind.

I'm not a Suzuki diehard, or really loyal to any brand.  But I have been riding an RMZ 450 now for about a year and really like it.  Most of my time was spent on Yamaha's and it does sort of have that  YZ 400, first of the new generation 450 motor like feeling.  Short shift and ride a gear high and its a blast.  On the other hand it drops right into a corner as Suzuki is known for.  Of course like any efi bike a tuner would liven it up some,  maybe a high comp piston, but the motor is easy and fun to ride, so I figure why bother.

I don't mind not having e start or an updated motor, because I bought my current RMZ for 5k, so I could buy 2 of these for the price of a new model year bike in some cases. IN fact I bought a 2020 before the one I am on now for $5700 and sold it for the same.  KYB shock and the pro set up from JBI  and the harsh deflection issues are solved, its plush and it settles right into turns.  I plan to keep shopping for deals every 100 hours, swap the parts and keep riding the wheels off of these old dogs. 

Suzuki, if you are listening, find another use for the BFRC shock and just put the KYB from the 250 on there, it makes a world of difference in settling the chassis down!

Anyone know why suzuki has chosen to produce, but not update anything?  Plenty of speculation but its not as if they don't update other models in the motorcycle realm.

Love it! I hope they give us all the details and pictures of the rear shock failure. Bikes break- thats part of racing. If a team can be honest and show us what went wrong, I really admire that openness.

I have been saying for 2-3 years here that Suzuki is in a planned stall on their lineups as they shift towards electric, the company announced their intentions several years ago.  Here is just two articles, this seems pretty darn clear to me where they are headed:

Something I really regret was not trying a KYB shock on mine. I bought a leftover 2019 in 2020 and put about 80 hours on it. Ended up selling it and getting a 250f.

I was never really too comfy on that bike, but I really wouldn’t of minded trying one with that shock.

Maybe in the future when I have more $ I’ll find a used one and throw a kyb shock on it to make it my pure MX 450.

Sorry pal, I have never been keen on any multi-billion dollar, multi-national corporations who prey on consumers emotions and loyalty, sell products "good enough", or give back nothing to those that support them. They assume there are enough consumers who are chumps enough to keep raking it in with half assed attempts. Whether they make sneakers, cheeseburgers, or bikes. Suzuki has become to dirt bikes what HD is to street bikes, perhaps with less innovation even.

Electric start would be nice, but not $5k nicer. It takes a whopping 2 kicks (max) to get it fired up. I had the fork and shock revalved, and this bike is not stopping me from doing anything. In fact, I think the bike hooks up better under acceleration with the BFRC. It could just be that I have a terrible back and the shock doesn't beat the hell out of me on acceleration bumps out of turns? The forks are fantastic, it turns better than any bike I've owned prior and the motor has more power than 99% of the population can use. It's the best deal in MX IMO. People seriously do not know what they are missing.
