A KXF450. Since I just got divorced and have been mostly riding woods my schedule with my daughter works out where I get her on a sunday one week and a saturday the next. All the organizations in my area race quads on saturday and bikes on sunday. I figured I would try it. I still own several dirt bikes and won't ever not ride ride dirt bikes. I just wanted some opinions on the difference.

In all seriousness, glad you’re still able to still get your racing fix through a tough time. And congrats on the purchase (I think)
I will always be an MX'er. But there is just something about the sand that I love. I have a Raptor with some motor work.
I just tore it all down and gave it a make over after 4 years of riding. Had Josh Wiig (wiigstyle racing) do the suspension. Man the dude knows his stuff.
You came on here and admitted to this crowd that you bought a Quad.
AND
It was a Kawasaki.
I've had both for a long long time - Banshee & YZ - and have fun with both. In the winter (racing on the ice) I do better with the Quad, Summer MX the bike. Skills being what they are. However I don't know if I'd have as much fun on the Quad if it wasn't a Banshee - those things are just too cool.
Bottom line is as long as you don't get stupid with $$$ on the Quad (that seems to be a real problem with that crowd) I say more power to ya! DON'T go out and buy $2000 worth of Elka shocks because somebody told you to. DON'T put on one of those stupid 110db pipes (you don't need it - really). DON'T tear into that 450 and put in a grenade piston that only runs on race gas. DO go out and enjoy both 2 & 4 wheels. And have patience, bikes & Quads are equally hard to go fast on, but the skills are different and it will take a bit.
Have fun!
My level of contempt for local quad riders who destroy all the good lines and jumps at the tracks knows no bounds. Maybe it's just me but where I ride, everyone who rides a quad is a real idiot. They are generally the ones not following track rules, ignoring flags, and acting like jackasses in the pits. So add that to the fact that they blow away all the racing lines and you can start to understand why.
Other than that, have fun.
One tip - don't grow a mullet, forget your helmet in the el camino, have a few beers, and decide it's a good time to hit a freestyle ramp.
I know it's been posted before, but it's the best video on youtube.
Ouch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pit Row
Just play'n....Be safe!
and suspension is by far the most important mod to make on an atv. Most guys go for the pipe, engine mods, and never touch the suspension due to high cost. mistake imo.
and a motorcycle is not a effing 2 wheeler!!!
Almost anywhere else? Um....
