I think you'll like the FMF. It looks good with the stock header. Performance is better, and it's easy on the ears.
Thanks for the feedback! That’s what I’m after. Figure I can always offload and switch later… or use the extra cash for a vortex if I feel the need.
So I’m trying to figure out how to send the keefer map to the selector I plugged in the values and saved it but can’t seem to figure out how to send it and if i do is it map 1 or map 2

Sweet thank you sir , did you make that map or get it from someone
I can't remember if that's one I made or someone else's. I tried alot of different maps but actually ended up back at stock. Stock mapping, Ti6 exhaust, opened airbox, 51 tooth rear and good fuel and the thing runs sweet. Best 450 I've ever ridden. More than enough power to pull 3rd everywhere and not too aggressive for when the track gets rough.
So the oil screen on the left case side- Do you just periodically remove the screw and clean the screen?
Is it that simple or is there more to it?
Thanks
Il punto evidenziato di giallo quando va azionato
Its that simple. When you remove or insert it you have to rotate it to get it to free up\seat properly fyi.
Rear brake is super spongy and has lots of play. I ordered a clevis to remove the play and bled them but i still feel like you have to push too hard to engage....whats the fix? Has anyone tried a steel line or different pads?
I've had zero issues. Coming from a KTM, brakes feel progressive.
I saw the 25 is up on Kawasaki's website, but didn't see anything other than BNG. It may have some small changes, but nothing jumped out at me.
Without going back through the thread, Chad from what suspension company? Total Control is who came to mind.
The rear brake is progressive for sure unlike the 23 which locked up if you look at it. The problem is you have to push it a country mile for it to engage.
You might have got use to that larger disc on the 23? I'd be curious your actual pedal travel given a set weight.
Are you sure you aren't riding the brake and getting it hot? It comes adjusted pretty high from the factory. I had to lower mine down a bit to keep from riding the brake. I feel like my rear brake is plenty powerful.
Definitely not riding the brakes but that is a good question to ask. The brake works awesome when it engages but the amount of pre-travel before it engages is crazy long compared to the other bikes I've owned/own. After I got off of it I was locking up my other bike because that one engages so much sooner. I even measured it pushing down by hand and its a super long throw. The clevis will help some because it moves a good 1/4" (at the pedal) before it even engages. Maybe the master cylinder needs new guts?
Pit Row
Adjust the throw on it. You can make it almost on off feeling. I put a new Clevis on mine and it wasn’t a night and day difference. I think your pedal/master cylinder is out of adjustment. My rear brake is great no complaints
I have the two screens removed, but not the baffle. Wondering if I should cut the baffle out.
Thanks for the above info. Purchased the Twin Air and dcmx cage (https://dcmxtools.com/products/dcmx-air-filter-cage-2024-kawasaki-kx450…)
Yep Chad from Total Control, I highly recommend.
That sounds like the may have made the distance from the pivot bolt hole to the pin lengths different
From what I saw after taking my muffler apart, the baffle is far more restrictive than the screens. I bet it will make a bigger difference.
Yeah its honestly a new one on me...never seen this much slop/pre-travel before. I raised the pedal some more, bled them, and ordered a new clevis so hopefully that shortens the throw of the pedal enough. The pedal never really feels like its going to bottom out.
I’ll be the first to ask- 2025 250 airbox work on our 24s? Lol
ive began to mod mine- domed filter, 3d cage, ect- but my 2008 Klx450 had a better setup than this… and was tool less….
I looked up the air filter on Kawasaki's website and the part number is different from 24 to 25 on the 450. The 250 wasn't up when I looked.
I’m guessing the 450 gets the 250 airbox setup…. We shall see!
I really think they are practically the same air box. Kawasaki just cut out the air box like most of us already have.
The 2025 250 airbox appears to be a bit different than the 2024 450 unit.
It may be less expensive to install the Twin Air Powerflow kit. Installation took us about 2 hours

I’m sure it’s in here somewhere but how/where are you cutting the air box ?
