The names are very on point.

Probably the best Vital comment I ever read.

Everyone’s in denial and won’t accept it..I don’t think Jett goes 22-0 again..it’s possible for sure. But Jett wins this title easily without DNFs

I think he very well could but let's hope for some adversity whatever it may be short of Jett getting hurt to spice things up. In the meantime, I have accepted and realize how damned lucky we are to have those two brothers racing here in the states. Even in your wildest dreams a couple short years ago nobody would believe that Jett would be this flipping good. A lot of us old heads love motocross way more than supercross but having both has really made USA the destination for the majority of young up and comers.

I'm going to look at this as the glass being half full. Chase can at the very least be in Jett's head at least a little and keep him on his toes. Jett makes it look way easier than how hard he is actually concentrating once Chase gets close imho. If Chase can keep pushing something will give. Not saying Jett is going to crack big time but at the pace those two run together mistakes will happen.

I think that Jett is in Chase’s head more. Chase has never come out on top from a 1 on 1 battle with those two. Yes, he has beaten Jett when Jett did a bad start etc but never beaten him when both were up front racing for it man against man.

Chase has never passed Jett period!! Until he can manage that I think second place is his future!

I was trying to remember today if he even lead him once last summer, nevermind pass him. I think he was ahead of him for half a lap at Budds off the start and crashed. I can't even count that

No he doesn’t, he could gap both of them (Sexton for sure) by 10+ seconds if he wanted to. Keep in mind, that he actually let Kenny win a race last year.

Anyone else think Jett's Honda seemed a lot faster than Chase's bike? Chase would get so close through some corners and Jett seemed to just pull away on some of the long straight sections. Is that just Jett's ability to get maximum traction to the rear end?

Yeah I don’t think it’s a horsepower thing (maybe torque), more of a better traction/ drive scenario.

At Spring Creek Sexton got the holeshot, then spun out at the end of the sand rollers.

It’s not.

Jeff Stanton and JMB had the exact same bikes and JMB rode his bike faster than Stanton and everyone else.

Sexton is right where he needs to be. He won’t beat Jett, but he should be able to beat everyone else.

He was in front of Jett in Moto 1 at Southwick too but Jett made up 10 bike lengths in 4 sand rollers

Chase made mistakes trying to keep pace with Jett just like last year.

I was laughing at all the comments in the race day thread about Hunter being dropped. It was clear as day that once Sexton got past, he realised there was no reason to push, and he slowed right down to bring it home. 2nd overall was secure. He said as much on the podium.

I said in the race thread, Hunter is way better than I thought he would be. I think he gets a win this summer. At least a moto, if he can start in front of Jett. I mean Jett can get a great start every moto can he? Cmon Jett make it interesting for us! Some 3-way battles with Jett, Chase, and Hunter would be sick

Remember last year when he fell and still won.....I am not so sure that wouldn't happen again. (he did fall 1st lap at one of the races and then 3-4 laps later was in the lead...or is my memory playing tricks on me?)

But we sure can wish for some sort of upset to improve the viewing....preferably without injury!

Another thought I had is that I hope Chase takes it step by step this year to build up to Jets pace and not do himself in going for the "kill" to early.

No, but if you look at how Chase rides he carry more speed in to the thurn and that causes him to get a worse exit.

Jett settles down in time, and focus on mid turn and exit speed instead. With the oversteer in the crf chassis you have to be verry precice out of the turn.

I saw Shimoda struggle with that this weekend, being to aggressive out of the turn, causing the bike to oversteer and loosing time.

Jett's suspension is dialed.

When in the rough, the front and rear move at the same pace and amount of travel, and both wheels seem to stick to the ground.  In my opinion, much better than any other bike on the track.

So I was looking at Chase and Jett head to head in motocross over the last 12 months.

They've lined up together for 16 motos.  Here are the summary stats:

Average gap at the finish = 11.634 secs

No. of times Chase finished within 2 secs of Jett = 3 times

No. of times Chase finished within 5 secs of Jett = 4 times

Total laps with Jett and Chase in 1 & 2 positions - 188 laps

Absolutely on board that train of thought.

James said similar I think? Watching the bike it really became apparent, Jett's Honda just seemed to settle and drive out of every corner.

James talked about rear suspension and i would not narrow it down to just a suspension setting.

Remembering the Keefer HRC test from last year they did mention that Jett’s bike was both smoother in the power delivery and a plusher suspension than Chase’s bike.

Both to each riders liking. But comparing Chase and Jett on the bike Chase revs the bike higher, drive harder in to everything and sometimes look like he tries to move the track under him instead of riding on top of it.

If you compare Barcias bike with Jett, his bike will look off to, but if you put Jett, Cairoli or Prado on that same bike i promise that the suspension would look way better just because how easy they ride the bikes. Using right RPM and being easier on the suspension overall, jumping on the bumps etc.

I never hear James talk about things like that, and that make a way bigger difference than just settings of the bike.

Some riders bike will always look better because they ride them to perform better.

I really noticed that too. But as another poster said, a lot of that could also be riding style....throttle input would play a huge part in that, for the rear squat etc.

Hunter cannot run with Jett or Chase on the regular for an entire moto, or Eli for that matter when he returns.  He may have a few impressive races where he rode like this weekend, but no chance he's on their pace for the whole moto.

Funny, I heard the same thing last year about Jett not being able to run Chase/Eli speed. But I guess that's why they run the races.... But a 2-3 for 2nd overall ain't a bad start.

1 race at 1 track...  Hard to define the whole season on these results.  I saw Hunter have similar single lap speed to Chase and Jett, but he wasn't able to sustain it in either one.  Chase had the best single lap speed, but also the most mistakes...  Jett continued to show his nearly effortless ability to run at the front at near the top speed for the entire moto, similar to what we saw last year.

I do think Chase is closer this year and will sneak a few moto wins and maybe even an overall or 2.  But until we see something different between the 2 of them, in particular Jett's ability to be in the top 2 by the second corner in virtually every moto, we're going to be seeing more of the same with Jett and Chase.

That was such a sick move. Jett does that a lot. If he doesn't get the holeshot  he turns on the afterburners and he's leading within half a lap or even sooner. Somewhat Roczen-esque.

What everyone seems to be forgetting is this is Hunters first 450mx season. No matter what class he’s been in it’s taken him a little while before he’s at his peak speed. I believe in time Hunter will be a better outdoor rider than Chase. It took Chase a couple years in the big boy class before he was a top dog. Hunter’s time will come just like it did in the 250 class. I think we are in for some epic outdoor battles over the next few years between the brothers just like we saw in the 250 class.
