Just got announced McAdoo and Hammaker got injured practicing this week. They will miss Pala.

See PR from RacerX: https://racerxonline.com/2024/05/23/kitchen-in-hammaker-and-mcadoo-out-…

"Unfortunately, Seth Hammaker and Cameron McAdoo won’t be lining up this weekend due to practice crashes leading into the opening round. Maximus Vohland and Austin Forkner are still in their recovery process from injuries earlier in the year."

To be honest, I don't think it's a curse. I just think Seth and Cameron ride over their heads. They clearly can't handle the reaction time and control necessary to go at the speeds needed to be elite guys.

Problem is if they slow down, theyll be in the same range as Brown and DiFrancesco. So it's better if they try to look like heros by going fast, win a race, extend the contract, crash out, stay injured, and do another year in 250s. Cameron will be 27 next year, Seth will be 24 by the end of SMX.

They're good guys, but serious conversations need to be made. It ain't luck getting injured every season. Look at guys like Shimoda, Kitchen, Deegan, Vialle who are younger and have been able to figure it out both speed wise and injury wise.

Sucks for Mitch, Sucks for Levi to have to carry the whole team.

its not a curse when u see a pattern, shit happens but after a while injuries & missed gate drops start to add up to decreased development, heal up yal boiis & come back swinging again I guess

A reflection of this is the lack of talent rising from the amateur ranks, never a manufacturing team would remain with these riders who only live injured for a long period

same exact story applies for him. Some riders just need to slow down and accept the fact that they dont have controllable, consistenly replicable elite speed.

Same guys keep getting opportunities because they have the speed to win... Sad when theres others out there that have shown they just need a chance on good equipment. Be better to see B level guys bumped to A level teams so others had a shot at the B level teams.

You could've made this argument about Jordon Smith just a couple years ago. Possibly against Hampshire as well, since both are fairly old to be in the 250f class, both have been injury plagued and both have missed countless gate drops.

Yet here you are. Because you've got it figured out................smh!

What did they crash into each other at practice?

McAdoo also didn't "crash" out during a race, at speed in SX this year. The freak accident occurred on his cool down lap of qualifying. Of which he had the points lead of the series at the time. The biased argument doesn't hold water. Dumb opinion

Well that's 3 of the potential 15 or so race winners out...  The sport is brutal.

You should consult for Mitch. Turns out he doesnt know shit about his riders while it's actually all clear as day

I feel like macadoo is sketchier than Hammaker

Me too....

Is he the first guy to cost Mitch the Championship on both coasts in one year?

But also that brings up another point. McAdoo also makes dumb decisions. Part of the reason he crashes so much is because he rides over his head and doesnt think about the consequences or the risk hes taking. It's also the reason why he got injured this season. He could've slowed down and picked up his head, but he didn't and just rode without paying attention, and jumped right into Leitzel.

ur right in that regard. Maybe these guys will eventually figure it out, but by that point theyll be going on 30 like RJ and Smith. And their career will be over within a few years (js look at Craig rn)

Also, I don't think the argument for Jordon holds. Sure he has seemed to figure it out this year, but last year he crashed multiple times and missed almost all of outdoors. Only reason he survived this year, was bc he also slowed down this year. Aside from his mud race win, he was not on the same level as Kitchen or RJ. He even crashed and finished below RJ in the finale -- another indication of his poor decision making running it in on Deegan.

As for RJ, he's never really been any more injury prone than other rides, just makes a few small crashes here and there. I think he's only crashed out of a couple of sx seasons, and outdoors hes finished within the top 5 overall four times. Even then, there's still an argument to be made that he got lucky this year. We all saw his mistake at San Diego, and if it wasn't for McAdoo (ironically) crashing into him, Kitchen would have had this championship.

Jordon Smith still did what he's always done....flashes of brilliance followed by screw ups and crashes that keep him from being a title contender.  But what they don't keep him from doing is earning a fat paycheck year after year cause "we can work with speed".

But hey, maybe next year when he's on his 6th Factory Team it'll all change and he can get that Title finally.  He should feel real accomplished when he does it against kids that were racing PW 50s when he turned Pro.....

I agree, I'm not a fan of Haiden but he played Jordan like guitar early in the SX season. Once someone gets in Jordan's head he's done.

Man that blows for PC and Mitch.

When does it come to a point with some of these guys and just say we can't continue this way.

5/23/2024 11:32am

I feel sorry for riders, but more so for the mechanics, all that work, long hours, shit money, all for nothing.

Give masterpool the fill in spot. He’s a better outdoor rider than the two guys who got hurt whether they’re hurt or not

People love this guy, if he's so good why can't he get a Factory Ride instead of riding for a budget level privateer team where I'd guess he's paying his own expenses to race?

Average Supercross results combined with a few burned bridges along the way is my guess. Incredible to watch outdoors though, he’s dropped some cool footage on Instagram this week at Perris
