We have two F150 Lightnings at work and I've driven them some.  The CyberTruck is better than the Lightning in literally every way except for the very divisive looks (which I happen to like but totally understand why some people hate it).

For moto, the Lightning doesn't have a 220 outlet, so you are stuck slow charging the at 110V Vargs or firing up a generator.  Slow charging doesn't work well if you ride hard for a decently long time at that track.  It requires to long a break to recharge.

If you have a reason the Lightnings are better, I'd love to hear it....

I bought a Ford Maverick Hybrid for $27000 OTD, I have a $3000 RM250.

It will take you approximately 30 years to recoup the cost saving in fuel for your cyber truck (my truck gets 27 mpg while pulling my enclosed trailer and 38 when empty). And it will never be cheaper to own your Varg than my old bike.

While I think the Varg's are sweet the Cyber truck is full of issues and way too damn expensive and impractical.

Very well thought out response.  I basically agree with you.  I can't drive the CyberTruck or Varg long enough to make up for your very economical choices.  I can't replicate your smart money choices because:

1.  I go to many travel races during the year with my son and friends.  Between 4-6 bikes, tools, spare wheels, parts etc.  I can't pull a trailer with the Maverick or fit everything in without a trailer.

2.  I like to race competatively and I'm simply not a good enough rider to be competetive on an $3,000 RMZ 250.  Better riders than me can be competetive on that bike for sure.

3.  I enjoy the new technology of the Stark.

You got me on the charging deal.  But the lightning is less problematic than the CT, this isn’t me making stuff up.  The forums are filled with issues.  looks alone would make me look elsewhere, the lightning is a regular truck, the CT is a novelty at best.  When rocket jesus finishes bankrupting the company you’ll have a truck worth a whole lot less.  All that aside, I’m glad you’re happy with your purchase it’s your money and spend it how you feel best!! And I hope you’re enjoying the Vargs, I’ll consider an ebike once the Japanese manufacturers get on board.

I tow a 5x8 enclosed but that is only good for two bikes.

As for my bike, it is a 2006 RM 250 2 stoke. Smile    Maybe worth a little more than $000 now but i paid $3000 for it just before Covid prices went crazy.

I too dig the Stark. But I am holding out for the Honda....hard to look past their build quality and reputation.

What's the single charge towing range for that cybertruck with that trailer?

Range on a F150 Lightning is reportedly about 100miles.

They have just started selling the F150 Lightning here in Australia. The base model is $225 000 plus on road costs.

Can't see many being sold.

You're tits up before you even start BUD. EV's are almost always double the price of the standard models. EV politics are complete garbage. And you're not saving the planet with them.

Is finally here!!

The CyberTruck will charge three Starks at the same time on fastest charge setting.  We were riding at a friends private track until 7:30 last night.  Didn't have to worry about pissing off any neighbors.  Later in the summer it stays light until almost 10pm.  It will be so nice to ride super late on hot days.

Using grid for charging:

CyberTruck costs $12 to drive 140 miles pulling the trailer.  Starks cost about $1 for an hour's worth of riding.

Using $3500 worth of solar equipment to charge (12 400W panels and 6000XP inverter):

CyberTruck costs NOTHING to drive 140 miles pulling the trailer.  Stark costs NOTHING for an hour's worth of riding.

Compare to my old way of towing/riding:

F350 diesel (10 MPG towing) costs $56 to drive 140 miles pulling the trailer.  KTM costs $4 in fuel for an hours worth of riding and $50 per hour for pistons/valves (piston every 20 hours and valves every 40 hours per manual; parts cost only)

sorry but that's not a truck

Magoofan, you and I will never see eye-to-eye on the merits of electric motocross bikes, this, we know - but - what you said there?

So. Damn. Right.

A time that will never be equaled.

And what that is, is the G.Y.D.B.T. with a gloriously resplendent radial head stuck in the back of it, crouched and ready, like a leopard.

I always tell people who think Elon will fail “Go get rich with your wisdom and short Tesla”. I think the shorts have only lost 3.5B or so.  Who knows, maybe you can make it all back and then some.

So you're not driving 140 miles to a track, but half that?

That range is better than the Ford, but if you have a trailer with 2-4 bikes and charging them at the track from the truck,  your trip to the track is what, 50 miles or less?

Unless you are charging the truck at the track, but then you wouldn't need to charge the bikes from the truck?

My local track is right at 50 miles each way.  If I charge multiple bikes I have to hit a Supercharger in the way home for about 5 minutes.  Luckily it’s in the parking lot of a Sonic and close to a great Mediterranean sandwich place.

If I only charge one bike I can make it round trip.

Dang….that seems really inconvenient.  Thats an awful expensive truck for a very small travel radius…

I bought my teenage daughter a CNG civic with 5 gallon tank…it has a range of about 130 miles…then they closed the CNG pump in my town, so I have to drive 10 miles one way to the nearest pump…lack of range is brutal…it’s enough to keep me from buying anything electric…and makes me want to sell this civic.

I don’t think he cares about what it cost . Because he,s rich and very annoying.  I think we hv enough electric cars on the rd with arrogant drivers cutting everyone off and brake checking them. Now we hv a guy that thinks he has a trk pulling a trl probably doing the same. There is nobody in Idaho to bother with noise so what’s he talking about. If anyone is going to LL . You better start your hot weather training. It’s 89 with 80 % humidity & 78 dew point in the area

or just west of there.

you’ll have to drive to the moon and back to save the 80k truck price in fuel when your insurance is higher, your tires wear faster because the Tesla weigh a metric fuck ton, homeowners went up.

wanna do moto cheap? Get a used econobox for 8k with under 60k miles, tiny single rail trailer for next to nothing, get 30-40mpg and an rmz450 that will never need a piston, top end or anything besides oil and filters.

you would never be able to break even from your Tesla and stark cost, never.

I'm not going to post my car again because it's been seen by all im sure but I literally drive a $5,000 dollar hyundai accent hatch and a $500 trailer and get 31 mpg and camp in it. comfortably. A local track day costs me $40 including entry fee and even food. My YZ250 gets tires and $100 top ends. Anything else is elective service or mods.

Who is to say I don’t care about the environment? Have you researched the way they mine the batteries? It is twice as bad as fossil fuels, followed by the toxins they can not recycle from those precious metals when it is thrown out and placed in a landfill. Those things despite the best efforts of some are not recyclable. Take your stick out of your ass and go away EVs are gay, but the real reason I don’t like them is because people think it is a good thing when children are labored to mine in the massive pits. Not a fan of either one of those things personally. But hey I guess it is in the name of global warming

Yeah ever see mining ? It’s brutal it’s by far the worst thing you could do to Mother Earth. Last week going through DC it was program after program the co.s talking that we need to take control of the mines. I,m sure we,ll be bombing them and taking it ovr any day now. Use the illegals that came in the last 3 yrs.  We use them for food manufacturing and there 9 yr old children here. They passed a law that an investigation is illegal & ice can not enter the property with out it being a federal crime. Ev,s represent slavery

Who the fuck is putting piston and valves in their Ktm every 20 hours? Using retarded stats to support your argument is why this ev shit is complete bs.

you’ll have to drive to the moon and back to save the 80k truck price in fuel when your insurance is higher, your tires wear faster because the Tesla weigh a metric fuck ton, homeowners went up.

wanna do moto cheap?

Someone posted this in Non-moto.....but it's relevant here.

All the money in the world doesn't count for shit.     Some people will never get it.
