Triumph Racing and Evan Ferry have mutually decided to part ways with immediate effect. Triumph Racing would like to wish Evan all the best in his future endeavours.
It is with regret that Evan Ferry will no-longer race for Triumph Racing in the SuperMotocross World Championship. Evan joined the team during the creation of the global motocross project, a historic step into a new segment for Triumph, which included the development of the all-new TF 250-X. The British manufacturer has supported the 19-year-old throughout his time in the lead-up to the launch of the new US Racing team, and brought in a number of seasoned professionals as part of the programme.
Evan, an AMA Supercross rookie, lined up in what was a proud moment for Triumph and its team at the opening round of the 250SX East Championship in Detroit on February 3rd. With a tough qualifying, the young Floridian dominated the Last Chance Qualifier to make it through to the Main Event with his teammate. Evan was unlucky to be taken out in the first turn, but the young racer had already shown grit and promise in what was an exciting first event. Ahead of the second round in Arlington, Evan was ruled out with an unfortunate injury, and it was the team’s hope he would return to action as quickly as possible.
Despite the efforts of Triumph Racing to support Evan and adapt the programme for the remainder of his rookie year, including the offer of focussing on the Pro Motocross series, Evan has decided that he will step away from the team.
Everyone at Triumph Motorcycles and Triumph Racing wishes Evan all the best for his future.
I am stunned.... not!
You know what they say. If theres a problem everywhere you go, you're the problem.
Good thing we have such strong journalism in this sport. I’m sure we’ll know really soon the exact details, just like Milsaps locker 2015
What a waste of time for triumph.

Weird situation all around.
Best “journalists” in all sports… not. But god forbid you say they aren’t real journalists and are more just analysts.
Looks like he hit the wall...
It's obviously not a problem with the bike, if was then go out and DNF each moto and show you have heart. Husky, Tried out at Star, no go, NSA Yamaha, Own Team, Triumph, now no ride. Love or hate Deegan he appears to have drive that many kids lack now days. All speculation, but he hasnt done anything to prove he is not the problem.
Sorry, but the young man has bailed on every opportunity he has ever had. I'm sure his only opportunity now is to ride out of dad's wallet.
Hold your horses, im sure that Swap will bro down with him within 6 months and talk about everything that has happened in his life beside this topic 👌🏻
Despite what the results say, Swoll has been kind of killing it on the bike. I wonder what the issue was.
Starting to wonder if Evan even wants to race? Starting to seem like Red dog may want him to race more than junior wants too.
Is this one of those times we are supposed shit on people without knowing anything?
Ps. We don’t have journalists. We have media. Key difference that extrapolates out to the bigger world.
Kid moves around a lot. Seems weird. Triumph definitely pointed out that they tried to make it work.
Millsaps went into it as much as he legally could on pulp a couple of years ago, if you're really interested.
Is Evan the problem or is Timmy the problem? If it’s the latter then Timmy should know better as he’s been on both sides of factory/privateer. Either way it’s not a good look at all. At this point what team would be willing to work with them now……
I get that feeling as well.
The PR calls it “mutual” in the beginning, but the end sure makes it sound like Ferry left despite them trying to accommodate him.
You know the old saying. “When the going gets tough… you quit.”
Pit Row
Without knowing more details….and nobody seems to want to ever give them….then my impression was always that with the quality of some very deserving riders that do not have factory rides, the quality of the bike Triumph has put out, and Evan’s lack of experience and consistency of results, that he was very lucky to get that ride. Did he blow it? Blame Triumph for him not lighting the SX/MX world on fire?… or did Triumph realize he wasn’t ready and they want/need their bike up front….or at least in the main? Until I hear details my guess is Triumph partially invested in a name that wasn’t his dad…yet…and eventually realized that.
Kinda thinking there might be some Daddy issues here.
Can we say future privateer
His dad isn’t the problem, not being fast enough/finishing races is the problem.
What a disappointment Evan has been…. He has shown flashes of speed, but seriously inconsistent.
Triumph would be massively better off grabbing someone like Trevor Colip who has shown he can make the main and might be able to step up with a quality program.
Paging RRP….
If you watched the race you know he had the speed. Are you blaming him for not finishing the race where his head hit a concrete wall or for not finishing a race he never lined up for?
Maybe you missed the part where the team mentions an injury.
Least surprising thing this week
Hopefully he has an education or a skill to fall back on because he isn’t going to make a living as a racer. What team would waste any time on him?
That's a really "pointed" PR. I can't remember another OEM press release that was so... what's the word I'm looking for... shaming?
I don't know that anyone is questioning the injury aspect of it, but the one thing we do know is that he's been linked to many teams at this point, with issues all along the way.
