When will Ricky learn the learning lesson and stop predicting the future.
Most of the time only for it to be wrong 10 seconds later.
OR “those inside lines will get rough and the riders need to go outside when they get rough” when the inside lines haven’t even been formed up yet…...
OR “he should/will let him go past”
Just call the race!
Yep he annoys the crap outa me, he is telling us something that we can easily see, or he is wrong. Was a great rider, but garbage commentator.
SX has not appealed to us know it alls in decades, their job is to appeal to the noobs, if and when AC replaces RC you'll get sick of his shit too.
He’s gonna go for it!!!!
- he didn’t go for it..
He needs a good result for this first race or it will make it harder for the rest of the night, It's like Captain Obvious is explaining SX to 5 year olds.

I don't know where else to post this since it doesn't deserve its own thread, but RV is taking way too many public speaking notes from RC since they started doing their podcast together. RV is absolutely hilarious on his own but whenever he's brought on to the broadcast, he straight up sounds like he's trying to be RC. Not giving honest takes and giving dumbed down takes. So frustrating, RC is not the mentor for broadcasting no matter how sick he was on a dirt bike.
It's also funny, RC always refuses to make any predictions about how the race may go but he predicts so many "watch this" moments in the race that never happen. RC is the GOAT, it sucks that he's so bad at calling a race.
In those rare occasions he doesn’t call the race, but gives technical insight he is amazing. Earlier this year he said with the way the whoops were breaking down and Jett’s angle coming into them it’s really risky, 2 laps later he crashes..
I wish Ricky didn’t call the race or the action but would just break down the track and the technique etc of the riders, that is what he is good at..
I don’t like when Ricky tries to predict a pass. Just say “let’s see if he gets him here”. By saying “he’s got him”, it takes away the suspense for the average viewer, and a lot of the time Ricky is wrong…
His confident "watch this" when the pass isn't happening never gets old.
Even worse, I've noticed the last two times Weege has been in the booth, he's starting to pick up the,
"Hoe boi" phrase of ricky's.
🤨
Somebody needs to tell him.
Hooooold on to it!
"Ooooooh, this is gonna' be good"
Here’s a pass … oh … no … thought he was gonna …
His long legs allow him to do that...
RC is dumbing everyone down,… to your point 😂
I, respectfully, disagree. AC is well spoken, thorough, insightful, and mild mannered on the mic. I have no doubts that AC and Weege would be a GOAT commenting team given the opportunity. Ricky, whether it’s intentional or not, is too excitable, and I feel that he says certain things to sound corporate and professional on the broadcast when it really just falls flat. On the other hand, Ricky is great to listen to when he’s on Pulp, or in a more casual setting outside the booth. It may be that he can’t verbalize his thoughts fast enough to keep up with the pace of racing, and he just word vomits or defaults to his repetitive Rickyisms to filled the void.
Unfortunately, until Ricky “decides” to hang it up, I don’t foresee anyone else sliding into his spot… not even AC. I think Daniel Blair recognized this, and it’s the reason he shifted his career into a different direction.
Ricky predicted Barcia would pass Jett… look how that worked out.
The broadcast is predominantly done in past tense. They have too many cued up talking points to actually commentate on the race. Drives me up the wall. It’s unreal how much better Paul Malin is. On his own.
To your point...
Pit Row
RC being wrong 90% of the time adds to the suspense.
The best was when weege says after on of RCs predictions … so what happened there?
Agree completely with this. RC has great takes on what happened and the technical aspects of the race. Since RV was mentioned also I think his takes often leave me scratching my head. RV was one of the best ever to throw a leg over….but his takes are often whacked imo.
The best commentary team to me would be Weege and Danial Blair.
"And I'm gonna tell you why..."
Ricky is very, very low info.
"I don't like how he made that move, and let me tell you why I don't like how he made that move, I don't like how he made that move because it doesn't show respect to....."
Tons of words, very little info. It's awful.
And the reason that I say that is....
I can almost guarantee a voice coach has him doing this to give him time to flesh out his words instead of stumbling all over them like he used to do.
Watch what he's gonna do now..he's gonna go inside out and pass on the whoops......OOOoooooooo
Why why why is Ricky and Will back. They suck soooo bad. Jason,Bubba, Jason and AC are the best combo
Ricky says he is being creating. How about being creative. NBC are you listening?
He called him Chase Section
“Look at this pass right here James… Oh I guess not.”
