Barcia T-Bone

Man running in like that early in the race with riders everywhere.  Barcia was actually going the wrong direction to the 2 riders exiting.
Anyway you put it that was gnarly and t-boned the series leader!

Just seemed that Barcia’s extreme angle in to the corner, it is almost like he is going backwards on the track. It’s hard to enter a corner past the apex and not expect the worst. The collision happened past the mid point of the corner marker.  If you hit the guy who is in front of you on the track…..you are to blame.

This!

And the people that truly dislike Jett, look for anything to latch on to.
Dude was going the wrong way into riders already going straight.

It's the same weirdos every week who screw up someone else's race. Whether it is Oldenburg last night who only thinks about his 5 sec moment of fame, or it is Cianciarulo who gets in everyone's way for 3 laps and then drops back outside the top 10. Or Barcia or Friese with the most idiotic moves on the track.

The drone view shows how far Jett cut down and that Barcia's line wasn't as insane as it looked from ground level. Think Jett cut down to much considering the turn on the first lap.

Fact is, if Friese wasn't racing Barcia so fast to the corner, Barcia never would have hit Jett. I think some, if not most of the blame goes to Friese.

AMA should Sit him out for a couple rounds. Then he can explain that to his Boss Troy Lee.

I don't know about "blame Friese", because I don't think there is really anyone to blame, but if you go back and watch the video and pay attention to where Friese is, that is why Barcia took the dive bomb line, because he knew exactly who was behind him and Friese was definitely setting up to blast him.

Doesn't matter what line except the very outside one Jett is getting bambammed. I hate Vince for his riding but he has no blame on this, it's bambam riding on his instincts. This could have maybe been fixed if he would have gotten a speaken to becuase of his earlier incidents

Looks like Jett understands that it was a racing incident and Barcia obviously felt bad. Nothing else to it.

I'm not the biggest Jett fan, and I guess something like this is "good" for the series by making the points tighter (unless Jett is injured, then it's obviously bad for the series). He definitely turned down pretty early, and we all know how risky that can be at the beginning of a race. Definitely wasn't the smartest move, especially with two of the most aggressive riders (to put it nicely) in the field behind him.

However, Barcia is the common denominator in so many takeouts over the past decade plus, and we all know that. Not many other riders in the class would've entered that corner the way he did. I assign the majority of the blame to him, just because it's like shit dude, why can't you ever go more than like a half-season without committing one of the most diabolical takeouts you'll see?

Dungey/Stewart all over again. Your fav rider is the victim, the other the villian.

I don't like friese.  He's hurt guys, and has made bonehead moves over the years.

However, racing barcia hard to corner earlier in the race is a-ok.  Should he just concede positions a lap or two in?

Barcia came in at a funny angle, and jett cut down pretty early.   Friese has nothing to do with it.

Wonder what Barcia said to Jett? Probably something like, "Dude, you can't turn into me like that...ha, ha...you have not raced with me enough yet. You will learn. Don't feel bad. Glad you are not hurt. Sometimes people pull in front of me and get hurt. I don't get why they do that!"

Race craft. That’s the defining characteristic. Barcia is known for these types of moves.

BUT. Both riders had a hand in this. Insurance companies put percentage of blame on drivers.

Barcia - 75%

Jett - 25%

Jett can’t cut down that early and that hard on the first lap. Barcia can’t be coming in at that insane angle on the first lap. Both are at fault. Super shitty situation for Jett and I’m thankful he has an extra week of recovery.

Mind boggling how Jett gets the blame. If barcia had tried to turn there would been no issue.

Even had Jet went wide he probably still gets smashed by Barcia

Incorrect. You never square up a corner on the first lap well before the apex. Ever.

Hopefully this isn’t made into a favorite wall poster like for the thread that I opened with fans wanting to celebrate greatness instead of career ending take-outs and I am not talking bad Chinese food.

It wasn’t just the angle of the hit but how fast and straight Barcia was going in such ole la short distance even Ricky noted high-speed that makes Jett’s angle of turning less of a factor.  Barcia has 2 brakes on his bike and didn’t use either of them but his rear wheel was off the ground at the last minute.  He could clearly see. jett the whole time.

Barcia was at the inside of the turn already but from there he went straight instead of following the turn or going around the floor marker.

Maybe Jett knew it was coming with his leg all the way back to not get hit that isn’t how people ride usually with their foot forward to help with balance turning.  This could have been staged especially from Barcia.

There were 3 bikes in the turn with yellow right in front of Hunter so Jett went low.

They call it a “T-bone” because the path of impact was a straight line T.  Maybe “bone” for “bone-headed”.

The first and biggest t-bone just happened to be Barcia and Jett.  Barcia had no written apology or fine and Jett is looking more innocent and heroic.

Ryan Dungey did the same to JS7. Good way to break someone's leg or worse.

It’s either about questioning if trying to end someone’s career or not with a take-out move heading straight towards them versus line choice or blaming the lead rider for turning down on an early lap as bad judgment when they can choose whatever line they want.

This is a long nice apology from Justin Barcia not Bam Bam that I didn’t see where he was trying to explain it as a mistake.  On the other hand in the past he has said he’s racing for money and has no concern riding rough if he needs to.
