I’m not sure if ML gets pressure, or feels pressure, from the deegans.  I’ll let him address that….but I do know that most “press” we have in SX/MX seems to feel they have to pussy foot around riders to maintain access.  Otherwise they get a no access…sort of like Steve and the Lawrences.  I hate that they can’t just be up front and honest in our sport.

**edited for my mistake**

You totally misread/misheard Blair "walking back comments" regarding Deegan. The week before he said it was Deegans championship and he'd win it going away....him "walking back"...

You totally misread/misheard Blair "walking back comments" regarding Deegan.

The week before he said it was Deegans championship and he'd win it going away....him "walking back" that take is him saying Deegan won't win this title, and he was also implying it wasn't just about the riding.

Your right.  See post above^^

All good man, to be totally honest when he started the "apology" I thought WTF are you about to say, Daniel?

Therein is probably WHY DB got pushed out/walked out. There is a line between being corporate-friendly and blatantly ignoring things because of sponsors or whatever connections you have.

Blair is pretty good about sharing his true opinion and not being arrogant about it.

I kinda agree, but I think the antics of Jason Lawrence were much more organic than DangerZone's.  Jason Lawrence was much more interesting to me.  DangerBoy's antics feel a bit rehearsed.  It's odd to me that Deegan would go so deep into WWF land, when he has real talent, physical conditioning, factory & family support, etc.

I didn't know a lot about Hammaker, but he gained a fan in me.

No disrespect to WWF athletes; it takes a lot training, dedication, talent and skill to do what they do.

Nah, the situations are too different.  Tyler, RIP, did what he NEEDED to do to stay relevant and have support for the next season.  That made sense for his situation.

The DangerousOne, in my opinion, has everything it takes to be a multi-time champion, but he seems to be a bit interested in being a character of sorts.  The way I see it, he has more than what it takes to be at the top of his class, but he has to figure out how to not be his own worst enemy.

I've wanted to root for him, but the ToughGuy stuff makes me look forward to watching him FAFO with the wrong person...but who knows, maybe he's an undercover MMA champ too.

All that said, overall, I still have a lot of respect for what Brian Deegan built for himself and his family.  I like seeing them celebrate hard work and success.

Not all hard passes are created equal….some of those were cheap for sure…..and it is different going for the podium, or to make the main, vs say….7th place.  If you are okay with it in every situation then I would question if you ever raced on any level.  If you did, and are, then you would be the db that the other racers talk about.

I was a fan last year, they were preaching the "just here for experience and to build for the future" thing and it actually seemed like they stuck to that plan.

This year the switch flipped. Now he's coming across as incredibly entitled. He has absolutely put in the work and has dedicated himself to being a champion, but there are other dudes who work JUST as hard and they aren't going to roll over for him.

The character that's coming across is not good, and because of the exposure he gets, it's going to backfire on the track. Yeah maybe the gets more clicks and comments, and that will keep paying the bills...but at the core of it all, he needs to win races and titles and they are currently making that much more difficult making all these enemies.

I respect what Brian built and I respect what Haiden has done to get to the level he's at right now, but right now they are damaging their brand within the sport.

In the end we are watching a very limited 250 career that may, or may not, get a real 250 title.  (I do not consider the gimmick SMX title a real one..JMO).  I predict, with confidence, he will never see success in 450s.  Jett is young and too good.  I don’t think baby deegan has it in him to ever compete at his level.

I think it’s reasonable to give someone a bit of charitability when they’re coming into the scene. If time and time again that person shows no sign of personal growth or character building then it’s pretty fair for someone to think “enough is enough” and start viewing their actions without any blinders on.

I'm in the same boat at this point. I can admire his talents on the bike but I have zero reasons to feel happy or be excited if he finds success at this point. Can’t help that he was dealt a silver spoon, so be it, but he can definitely choose how to behave as a person and he’s choosing to be an annoying asshole. Just not for me at this point.

The difference between you and him is you did not attack the character of the folks claiming something was not right.

I agree with you 100%

RC said it best....  Down the road in this game, he is gonna need friends.  I do not give a damn how good, rich, fast, whatever you are....  everyone on earth needs some help from time to time.  The little shit is burning a ton of bridges every step he takes.

I laughed the other night watching him march over the the PC rig.....  If there ever would possibly be a time in his career where he would need help from Mitch, I'm willing to bet that is all pissed away now.....No matter how fast he can ride.  Mitch is beyond established, and a personal phone call from him in this sport to whoever, can move mountains if need be.  Haiden is barely old enough to be considered an adult, but he is easily pissing of folks who have been in this game for decades.  NOT FUCKING COOL.

Maybe the brat could care less about this stuff in the long game, maybe he has an eye for off road trucks or something down the road?  Regardless, this time is now, and he cannot possibly carry on the way he is currently doing.  Our sport is small, and only so many teams would want a little spoiled brat acting out constantly on live TV as a victim, no matter how fast they are.  Image is a ton these days, and his screams Prick with a golden binky in his mouth.

I'm far from Father of the year, but I did raise a Son with a Masters degree, and currently a Federal Officer. So I can honestly say, If my Son, acted like an ass like he did, shit would hit every fan within 100 miles of home......and things would change NOW.

Grow up Haiden.  Tons of kids who race would give anything for where you are, and constantly try for it, taking their licks.  YOU ARE REPLACEABLE TO ANY TEAM.

Champs win.  Chumps bitch.....

The kids head is clearly unclear. If he shook off the HEAT race crash that he caused taking the risk he did and moved on, I bet he would have had a different outcome in the main. Look at Seth, the way he handled it in the same exact position, Seth walked away from him in the LCQ too. Instead he was focused on trying to be a tough guy in the pit's gaining clicks, likes and subscribes to his Jake Paul channel. Can’t imagine he was back at the truck putting in the work like his competitors. Talent only gets you so far, then the mental physical dynamics of racing start to take their tolls. His competitors are going to out work him while he’s busy throwing tantrums, making enemies and and putting on a show for YouTube. His head isn’t in it at all and he lacks the consistency to get it done.

He’s been racing dirt bikes at a high-level for well over a decade. I don’t give a shit how old he is. It’s not an excuse.

Deegan closed the gap on the straight. Coty left the door wide open, like RV said, he should have been expecting that. Deegan locks up the rear at the last tuff block before the turn, probably shaping it up to line up the furthest inside rut which his front tire pops out of.

The attitude and off track antics are one thing, but the attention and criticism this pass has received is unbelievable. Let’s not forget about Anderson essentially ending baggets career, Barcia breaking bowers leg, and Hansen breaking Alex rays leg.

Reread my post for a response to this post.
All I will add is …..part of the reason it is getting this attention is Schock is a genuinely nice kid, that has total class, and is probably the most improved rider from last year and is doing great!  and Deegan is a total douche.

Yeah, and all those passes you mentioned are known because they were dumb.

It's the totality of the night being capped off by a borderline pass for 7th. If that was the ONLY controversial thing all night, it would be viewed differently.

Why? Because he left the inside open on the last turn of the main event and things came together?

I'm not a Deegan fan, but this is fact. It was only a small come together with just a shitty outcome for Coty.

Idk man if it was the only thing that happened that night with deegan then I get it, but he doing one dumb thing after another all night long. There’s a larger pattern here.

So, Deegan was right. Well sort of. On the heat race start he was ahead and felt Hammaker should have been prepared to cede the position to him. On the last lap, Deegan was behind and ran it in on Coty Shock to garner another position.

Which of these two situations was Deegan right? (Asking for a friend)

First corner, hammaker should have slowed up when he saw dax slow up.

Its like the vince and hunter first turn situation.

You can tell your friend Deegan was half right!

According to the rules, Hammaker did not break the rules in the heat race and Deegan did not break the rules running into Coty Shock...

It won’t be long and the mob will move on from Deegan, like they did from Jett and Vince…

All the threads about Jett cracking under the pressure and blah blah. Deegan just needs to get a win and all will be forgotten..

Only guess who will be the next vital target Blink

There have been no recent threads on Vince, because he hasn't been racing!

Maybe he’s doing this so there is no way RD lets him be on the MXoN team. That way he doesn’t have to turn it down… 🤷‍♂️🤔😂

Looking at the racerx vault, in his second sx season Barca finished on the podium every single round, won 3 races on his way to winning the east championship. Deegs has a long ways to go to even match Barca.
