This was great! That MX2 fight gave me goosebumps, it's gonna be hard to sleep tonight,,,
And Gajser, my favourite Slovenian, Finally (?) back to his own self. The MXGP quali was almost as I wanted it, cheers for Jonas! But I expected Herlings to come forward and challenge for the lead, have I overestimated him?
Anyway, I got Fevbre right where I expected him.
Looking forward to a very thrilling season where noone is superior, it'll come down to gravel and grit !

Herlings have issues with armpump first race normally. Interesting to see if it's out now, or back for race 1 tomorrow.

Normally, doesn't have to be the case today's race.

Big shout out to Triumph. Hitting the ground running with a fully competitive bike at this level is a massive  achievement.

The way they had him on that stretcher was horrific.  As much as the sport needs to go to new places, having people scooped up like that , instead of stopping the race makes me worry for rider safety.

Well both US and MXGP teams seem to have got the 'hitting the ground' bit dialled.  But seriously, i think they have done well so far, bike has speed, and they dont seem to be struggling in any way .  Its been a solid start for them .

I like the look of their MX2 set up better than the states even with the monster claw.

That could be a big mistake over the season, winner getting 10pts and if then wins both motos goes away with 60pts

Carnage at the 1st jump coming out of the 1st turn took out Fernandez, Geertz, Gifting, Gilbert and Coldenhoff. Only the Hoff was able to get going again.

Looked like Fernandez got squirly coming out the first turn and completely took Geertz out and the rest had nowhere else to go.

It looks like it wasn't Fernandez fault, someone's back wheel hit his front which caused it. As great as this track is, it doesn't take too many prisoners.

I don’t want to start the season off on a downer, especially after a day with some great racing, but it’s time to do away with quali races. We’re 2 guys down in MXGP already, 60 moto’s a season simply is not sustainable, we need to give these guys the best possible chance of staying fit

Yeah they need to go, but here we are yet again with a full seson of them (they will not get removed mid season). We will see more hurt riders during the season in these meaningless races.

I can't remember but did the 2020 season during covid when they didn't have quali races result in less injuries?

Infront isn’t gonna change a shit.

When the riders stood up in Ernee a couple years back, they got pissed off and came back with those ridiculous points for the Saturday races.

The only way they can change Infront is when the big teams and manufacturers get there heads together.

When they all don’t speak up or hold back this is what they will get and we will loose more riders with injury’s.

I don’t think it is a coincidence that the 2021 season which will go down as one of, if not the greatest GP season of all time, ran with a one day format for the GP classes

I was thinking the exact same thing while watching the quali race yesterday. The fact that the supercross layout are almost always identical kills a lot of excitment for me. And it’ssuchva bummer that this track is not gonna be on the calendar anymore because year after year it gives us amazing racing.

Is the track open to the public during the year or it’s only used the weekend of the gp?

Unfortunately it was too painful to try to ride today, so Fernandez is out

Looks like we're down to 30 riders in MXGP judging by the warm-up times, out from yesterday are:

Ruben Fernandez (Team HRC)

Jago Geerts (Monster Energy Yamaha) - Broken Arm

Brent Van Doninck (JM Honda Racing) - Broken Femur

Josh Gilbert (Gabriel SS24 KTM) - ??

Alberto Forato (Standing Construct Honda) - Effects of Pre-season injury

In MX2 we're down to 32 riders from 33 in free practice yesterday:

Andres Feican (Honda Ecuador) - Broken Shoulder

What a shame for Fernández and Geerts, yesterday looked comfortable, they would have done well today.

Our ama tracks are way better than most your gp tracks, let’s be real. Argentina is a beautiful track, but most the tracks in Europe suck, rocks everywhere. Even Prados about to say f the mxgp series, he wants real tracks with some real money. Shoot, if I owned a bunch of land in the middle of nowhere and gave Lunongo a couple million, I could host a gp!!! 😂😂😂😂

I actually think why the GP riders usually come over here and win a title is because of their tracks being “worse”. GP riders get better and going 30 plus 2 on super beat up tracks. They come over here and ride the exact same prep and ruts every weekend. Once they learn the track design and get use to the lifestyle the big names that come over usually win. I feel like they are more refined in different skill sets because of all the different types of tracks they have to ride.

also, anyone who has a clue knows you

are exaggerating with the “most tracks suck”

statement. More like most are really good and a few suck. The AMA series is exactly the same every weekend. Groomed 28 feet deep. One main line gets put in and the rest of the corner is a shit show. I’ll take variety
