I thought I saw a flame right as the bike gave up. He said he could hear metal rattling around in the cylinder, so he must have done a real number on that thing.

CRF250s are garbage!

250Fs built to the tits for SX usually aren’t known for longevity.

Yeah can't really blame the Honda, if engines fail in the huge money and resources championships like F1, DTM, Indycar, MotoGP or military and aerospace applications with the stakes being as high as they are, we're certainly gonna see them fail in Supercross occasionally.

Always sucks when you do see it though, bummed for Max.

Especially when you’re a privateer team starting out with the slowest bike in the field (ok, second slowest, there are still a few Suzukis out there).

or... I have to say I'm a bit disappointed with Chance Hymas and Jo's performance. Was The Lawrences really making the CRF250 look that much better or is it just pure luck/unluck this year. Starts this year are Blue or Green.

Are they on their own, or do they receive support from Honda? Your Honda can lead the points too, might grenade tho 🙃🙃

Jo has had the same performance in sx as he has had with PC imo. Chance blew out the same knee that took him out from outdoors and is trying to race thru it. I’m pretty sure Chance has one more year on his Honda deal, should just get the knee fixed again and have a solid offseason. Instead he’ll probably try and push thru and prolong getting the knee done, then it’ll hamper his prep for next year when it’s contract year.

Man they are a great looking bike and graphic combo but that thing has to be down on power a bit. His starts are suffering pretty badly but his speed is good. I admire everything that team is doing but can’t help but wonder what if for instance he was on a club Yamaha

I would have thought Honda would help with engines, considering he was in a better position to win the title than Hymas.

I was gutted for him. I don't believe he was going to go on and win this title but you could see him getting confident that he might be able to do it.

No sympathy for Hymas riding with a torn acl?

Not trying to disrespect the team but they have a history of bike failures, so this wasn't a surprise to me. The Honda is also pretty down on power compared to the other 250s. I feel like Max could be pretty dominant if he had a Star or PC bike. To do that well on that bike is pretty remarkable

Honda can’t give the points leader a few engines?

To be fair HRC has had a few of their 250 engines quit over the last few years as well.
