It’s not looking good with Philly, foxborough, Nashville and Seattle coming up.

That red clay is going to be interesting if it's soggy.  It will alternate between being like an oil slick and sticking to everything like velcro.  Dirt looks like it came from the old Warrior MX track.

I remember racing a night mud race there in the early 70's that was so bad all the mini dads had to push the minis up the hill by the grandstands.  That slick clay was no joke.Laughing

y'know someone says Biblical like...everytime this subject comes up, and not to complain but, we get it - there's like a small joke in there saying "Biblical" to emphasize that the OP is over reacting. here's the problem - the rain has jacked up some races significantly this year, so no, no one was over reacting, and second, it's an overused tripe with no originality. We get the joke, but let's get creative or stay home. we don't need to see "Biblical" on EVERY RAIN POST.

I was thinking more Bremen, but that's from an ol GA boy.  I went to Warrior 1 time and it got rained out.

The old road Atlanta track was about the worst I can remember. The hills were cut for the little bikes so they didn’t sink up to the bars.

Very true statements for both states.  I'd clarify that for Oregonians on the western side of the mountain range are the ones that are nice enough but don't want to be your friend.  Those on the eastern side are a lot more likely to become your good friend.  JMHO

Having lived both on the central coast and in the heart of the valley (Corvallis) for the last 4 years, i concur with this statement. Almost overwhelmingly welcoming on the coast, honestly!

I'm about 2 hours southeast of bham but this warning is from my county warning system. The warning is for all of central bama including Jefferson county (bham).

Went to Daytona last week and got SOAKED. Went to Glendale a few weeks ago in great weather and a dome-capable stadium. I'm pretty sure we have enough domes in this country to support 16 rounds of sx (I know that's not possible). It would be nice though. I'm really starting to think about just staying home on the couch for this one.

Called the stadium and you can only buy m-f at the stadium ticket office. So you're stuck paying crazy ass fees if you want a ticket.1000037001

Um,

Alabama?

isn't a "kissing cousin" booth required by state law?

Knew that shit was coming at some point. Lol Bama may have its faults but my job has taken me to work many places in this country. I'm going to let you in on a secret. There is stupid, crazy, ghetto, hillbilly, redneck, cousin kissing, mf'er s every single place I've spent time.. it's no longer just a southern issue I promise.

Have there ever been this many mudders in a season before? Are we having a seasonal weather event or something?

They are building a “dumbed down” SX track to hopefully have a more raceable mud track.

With 40% chance of rain on Saturday, if they cover the track it shouldn't be too bad.

Daytona had record high fan turn out this year and even though some of qualifying was canceled... That was in no way a mudder. If 250 riders are quading a rhythm section, you can't claim it was a mudder. We've had 2 mudders in 9 races, not that out of the ordinary in my opinion considering we're racing in the dead of winter in open stadiums.

I dislike a muddy SX just as much as the next guy but I have zero complaints with this season so far. This is a Daytona mudder:

If you go 20 minutes + 1 lap and you look like this after, it wasn't muddy... His white gear is still white!

I wasnt saying daytona was a mudder. Qualifying was tho. I was just pointing out what rain did to the dirt they use for the track. Wasnt anyone who didn't think it was the softest they'd ever seen.

They are covering the track. If the rains stops Saturday morning should still be a good race…

Looking good.  Hurry and finish and then cover that baby until noon Saturday.  Then either 1 practice and 1 qualifying…or no practice.  Track would be good if they did that.

If they finish the track today and if the forecast stays the same it won’t be a mud race. Might be some spots they have to fix where water run off but they will cover the dirt that goes over start till Saturday. Let’s just hope for no weather change and a dry track.
