Hey guys, what you think of this new set from the guys at Polisport?
Comes with tank, seat, airbox, and of course, the full plastics kit. Fit's the YZ125-250 from 2002-2021.
Good thing is, the plastics are the same as the current YZ's, so you can just order the plastic replacements without hassle, graphics too. No silly brackets, direct fit.

Price?
Direct fit? How does the seat bolt up?
Funny just about an hour ago I was staring at my bike trying to figure out how to mount the new style seat without buying a subframe so I could update it all on my 2018
I put one on my 03. The fork guards aren’t the right bolt pattern. Everything else fit pretty well.

where can you source this kit from? Price?
Guessing somewhere between $650 and $4750.
Just to follow up guys, the seat bolts to a part of the frame, through the center rear of the seat, as per the current bikes. ... we'll prepare a video shortly. Price, expected around US$400 or so. So, it's a great option. Polisport Quality, we all know about the 'other' tanks out there, (leaky leaky), this is real quality.
SCRUB will have them in stock in a week or so.
We'll offer them with the correct fork guards for the appropriate year model you have, as we always do.
If so, that's a killer deal.

The late model subframe is "almost same", but the tabs with the seat bolts coming in from the sides are not there and there's a new crossmember made from an extrusion that spans the two top rails of the subframe. The new style seat has a threaded bracket that connects to that crossmember.
I guess we'd have to cut the old seat mount tabs off of the subframe to install this kit and you probably just have an aluminum or injection molded cross-member that slips into place?
I've looked at updating two of my old bikes (2011 YZ125 and 2019 YZ250) using OE plastic, tanks and seats. I was considering welding a CNC machined crossmember on three of my spare subframes and milling off the old seat tabs at the welds. I'm intrigued to see the Polisport workaround.

Hey guys, this set is engineered by Polisport... this is not a butcher job from some little farmhouse! We've been in discussions with the guys at Polisport for some time about this... and, it's become a reality.
The subframe does NOT need to be cut, the kit comes with a seat support bracket, as shown below. The seat attaches with a single bolt through the center. Again, developed by Polisport, they've nailed it. We'll have 'em here in a week or so, videos, all sorts of information will be available. We'll get a bike in here too, you can see how she all goes on.
As one who did the oem update at a cost of 1200 to 1400, this a great idea and deal. If it reall is about 400, seems the tank alone would be pricey. Good luck
Yeah, we saw guys kicking around the idea of over $1000 for doing the conversion with genuine parts. We were early in seeing there was a demand, so really pushed to have this done. We'll be working pricing as best as possible, for sure. The tank proved to be the most difficult, but, they have it perfecto!
Hello can you keep me or us posted when the kit lands I'd order one.
Thsnks
Im in as soon as its available
How much liters of fuel will the tank hold?
Very nice. May go for it. Would you allow us to custom order the select colors we want like a “build your own” kit? Would probably like to update to the 23+ four stroke fender and plate too.
Any chance it comes in white? I’m all in on this kit.
Looks cool. That front fender though eeegh. 😬
100% yes. That's what we do. With all due respect, remember when they released the new generation YZf, all the Vitards complaining about the front fender, 'blah blah blah', now, it's actually in demand. We work with them, just fine... You get used to them.
Pit Row
Around the same as the standard 2022-2024 models. Basically, the same shape. We'll confirm at release.
I don't know how you 'put on on', they're not available to the public yet!
Yes, but, tanks will all be black. No need to make different colours tanks, they're basically hidden. We'll offer, Full Blue, White, Grey, Fluro Yellow, Black.... and looking at more. We'll see.
Who exactly is "we"? Maybe I'm missing something here so excuse my candor, but Polisport already offers a restyle kit of their own. Are you just kitting this by reselling Polisport's kit and adding a seat?
Again, excuse me if I'm out of bounds here, but who are you?
Owen, man, SCRUBdesignz! We're the guys behind many of the top MXGP bikes, DAKARS winners... and we work in collaboration with many development projects in the industry. You might see our work on Jorge Prado's bike, Herlings, Kay DeWolf, Febvre. Dozens more, all proudly wear the SCRUB logo!
This kit is 100% developed by Polisport, that have made a tank rotomold, seat molding and airbox, specifically for this frame, with intentions of adding the standard fitment current YZ plastics. Yes, they do offer a 2015 series Restyle, this is just the newest release!
Honestly it's sad that one of you petty little girls took the time to go through this thread and downvote each one of scrubs posts.
Wrong guy, right response!
Is it possible to use the 2022-2024 YZ oem seat with this kit?
I was looking to update my 2011 but priced the oem stuff and it was cost prohibitive. If this comes in at a good price and readily available I will definitely be getting it.
Does Polisport make different colored OEM plastics. So if I wanted a green YZ, or a yellow KTM, would that be possible?
We're working on a large range of color options... as always. Not long, we'll have 'em on the streets.
What you think of Metallic Blue? We have these already! ;-)
The color range these days is being seriously reduced by all plastics manufacturers. We had loads of options for many bikes, but, guys seem to want only 'standard', or black/white. We still have some cool mixes, and will soon introduce some really killer exclusive sets from ACERBIS for Honda. Green YZ, never... just not the demand... yellow KTM, likewise. The cost of manufacture, and limited demand means they just go to recycling when no one wants them.
