What makes him a cowboy?
The hat?
Media watched Yellowstone?
I'm a fan and i don't think he came up with being called cowboy

Cultural appropriation. I feel personally attacked on behalf of all the cowboys out there.
Josh Demuth was never in law enforcement but he was called "The Sherriff".
Do you have a point?
Similarly, I don’t believe MC ever presided as a monarch nor did RC ever spend an appreciable amount of time as a livestock animal, but someone please correct me if I’m wrong.
Whole sport is a lie.
Dunge, not a truck engine.
Emig has short hair.
Ferry, not canine.
Matiasevich, not actually poultry
Chandler, good eyesight
Hannah, not a weather phenomenon

It’s the fake country accent he just started using a year or 2 ago for me.
I am a fan of AP. But that fake accent has always been silly to me. But I’m not complaining, if that’s what he likes and he has found it makes him even more marketable, why not?
He's not the first "cowboy", Kent Howerton and Kenny Batram come to mind, who else ?
The character he plays is more nascar redneck than cowboy, but that wouldn't sound as good on the broadcast
What!? Geez, I told everyone that MC was previously the king of England.
You win the internet today....
...but yeah, AP is about as much a cowboy as McDonalds is hamburgers. (Not hatin on AP....but hating on McDonalds)
Adam Cianciarulo is neither alternating electrical current nor an air conditioning unit.
Justin Barcia is not a violent young child set in a theoretical stone age where humans existed alongside dinosaurs, despite what the media would have you believe. Open your eyes, sheeple!
Barcia is not a Flintstone
All I'm saying is Baggett and El Chupacabra have never been seen in the same room together...
Dog it if you want but whoever’s idea it was worked, he’s gained a ton of fans and is now super marketable. I think it’s fun to get some personality in the sport anyways. Hell, my wife has never been into knowing who the riders are and she loves AP
Yeah man - him and his cowboy persona are on the box and dialed every weekend. Good to see another healthy front runner.
They used to call Webb the "Big Bad Wolf" back in the 250 class...but he's clearly not a canine.
Tomac is referred to as the "Shark", but he doesn't breathe underwater.
MC was referred as "Showtime" but was never on Broadway.
RC is the "GOAT" but is very much human..
Guy has never heard of athletes having nicknames before. William "The Refrigerator" Perry was not actually a fridge, but he was as big as one.
Agreed. And my take, it is more of a "Redneck having fun, no matter what" than it is a cowboy thing. Nothing like a hooting and hollering guy with a perma-grin, it is appealing no matter who you are. He is follically challenged so he will always wear hats, he could be wearing the cookie cutter team hats, but that would be like everyone else, clearly he wants to stand out and it works.
Pit Row
My question. Was Red Bull producing branded cowboy hats already or did he specially request that to make it a thing?
OUTSTANDING
100% it was AP. I think in the beginning he was wearing a generic cowboy hat and they had to get that logo out there.
Justin Barcia and his outfit is what would be called a drugstore cowboy.
Next your going to tell me Jimmy Alb.... Uh I mean Ronny Mac doesn't really drink PBR?
We calve cows in February/March. Often I run back into the house after dragging a newborn through the snow into the barn - trying to avoid death by mother cow - just in time to watch the mains. I realize the character was not created for me, but I want to throw my remote at the tv whenever they call him a cowboy. If I ever make it to a supercross I am going to ask him if he has ever calved a cow. If he has, great no problem. But that’s like me walking around with a red bull KTM jacket on saying I am a supercross racer….. actually maybe I should start doing that
He plays the role well, kinda? I’d like to see a real horse enthusiast or cattle farmer/rancher do some interrogation of AP’s cowboy knowledge. At what point did he (or his agent?) decide being a cowboy was the move? Regardless, it was clearly a brilliant idea.
I don’t recall seeing this cowboy charade in his 250 days. I know people can find new hobbies, but does he actually do cowboy stuff on his free time? Or did he growing up?
Most I’ve seen from him is a mechanical bull.
hahahaha. amazing.
It's the Hamilton County hillbilly, which gives him the right to be a cowboy! Used to be rural back in his days.
Maybe check 2018 Race Day Live interview from Indy on YouTube. You get to hear his Cincinnati accent, rather than the one he invented.
Technically Bamm - Bamm was a Rubble.
