I know the slow, 6 month roll out was very hit and miss with everyone but now looking at it, I think they really did do it in a smart/clever way. They built it up and didn't really show much of anything until the bike was built and is now racing and hitting showroom floors. Ducati unveiled their 450 but it won't be on showroom floors for what, almost 2 years still?

Between this video and the comments on the PulpMX Show last night, there's so many things that are cool to hear. The triple ring piston is interesting and an easy way to win over folks that are worried about the cost/frequency of rebuilding for sure. I also found it cool that they said they basically threw every other manufacturer's engine in their chassis during development. Will be nice to see one in person here soon, the fit and finish of this thing looks top notch in the up close shots. Also, I don't know if it's just the frame or if only taller guys have been riding it in the videos I've watched but it looks very compact and almost smaller than a lot of the other 250's. But no one has complained about a cramped feel so it must just some design features that make it look small.

That three ring piston for durability and then saying piston replacement at 50 hrs instead of 30 is a huge plus. That’s borderline enough cost savings in parts and labor to offset the high MSRP. Still so dam expensive for a 250f though 😩

It’s right in line with the MSRP of all other 250F’s. Cheaper than the KTM and Husky, too

Excellent review. Sounds like a great bike.

A cross between an Austrian bike and a Honda sounds just about perfect, rider triangle wise that is.  This bike really spikes my interest and I surly hope they eventually release a 350.

I don't give a rats-arse about the colour, but those bolts, It would turn me off buying, I reckon they'll strip out the heads, would prefer a hex outer for more security. We'll see.

Is it big or small?   Who is going to like it better?  Guys that are 5'5" or 6'2" ?  Looks pretty compact in vids.

Good in-depth review btw.

By their own words their prior models way back in the day were scramblers, never really made a motocross bike.

I’m 5’9 and was quite comfortable. Pat Foster is I believe 6’1 and had zero complaints. I think it’s a pretty compact build but the rider triangle is super neutral, kinda of like a Honda.

Not to sound like a “poor” Debbie Downer, but here is a 250F that’s $10K. Yes its a nice, well built bike, but…$300 a month 36 months 5%. How much will the 450 be?

I've only watched ML's review and Whiskey Throttle's (Ezra). Ezra said he's 5'-10"-5'11" and he said he felt the ergos were great with the exception of the bar bend. He said he would have gone with a taller bend.

Eegh, no lol

$10K + is not the end of the world, since there is a large used market out there, but it’s just a threshold thing.

In my world 10K for a new motocross bike is one of the great deals in motorsports. If they sell homologation numbers (400), isn't that just $4,000,000 gross? ML when do they project off road models? Is a 350 possible? Two strokes? Dual sports?

Definitely. $10K is literally the best deal in the history of dirt bikes. Sarcasm Cool

Excellent review and really nice to hear it's competitive right off the floor. Curious as to "adjustable" camshaft what are you referring to. Thank you.

What does a good couch cost, or carpet, a good steak dinner, or inground pool, or ocean cruise? Decent stuff costs money, we live in an age of $65000 pickups friend. If Hodaka came back into business tomorrow and offered $1000 dirt squirts they would gather cobwebs on the dealer floors.

Off-road, yes. Dual sports, likely. 350, maybe. Two-strokes, no.

People can rant all they want about pricing, but that's how the world is nowadays. I am personally interested. The Yamaha/KTM hybrid seems like a great blend. Actually cheaper than a new KTM with spring forks. Spare parts availability and pricing cannot be worse than with Pierer Group, so there's that. I just talked to a local dealer. April/ May they will be at the dealerships here in Germany, so I guess Europe in general.

Stoked on all the positive reviews, that will force the other company’s who are kinda stagnant to step it up. Sounds like it’s super fun to ride. Good vid ML! I also like Motocross Actions vid on it.

How many other bikes come out of the crate with a GET ignition system and good handling with working spring forks and shock?

I don’t like torx but then again that setup has to reduce the bike weight significantly.

Gut feeling is this is basically a $$$ works edition as the production bike at a reasonable price.

Bad luck I guess. I’m on my 6th Triumph and currently have a Tiger 1200 ADV in the garage. I’ve owned a Bonneville, Thruxton, Speedmaster and on my third Tiger and never had one issue other than performing standard maintenance. What issues did you have with your bike? Mine have all been well built machines, this current Tiger I have is an awesome bikeIMG 1042

I own an Triumph ADV bike...has a mix of both hex and Torx bolts.   Never had any issue with stripping the Torx heads.
