British? No. Both Jeff Ward and Dean Wilson have lead in Supercross before. Anstie is the first English rider to lead, though (I think).

Dean originates from Glasgow (Scotland) which may fall under the United Kingdom.

Anstie is the first real Brit to carry a red plate.

Yes, Dean comes from Scotland, which is in The United Kingdom of Great Britain. Deans a Brit.

I know James Dobb won a SX race or two, but did he ever hold the points lead?

Yup it’s the “ United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland “ from there it’s “Great Britain” which is collectively England, Scotland & Wales then from there the individual countries .
So at the MXDN for example the GB squad could be made up of English, Scottish & Welsh riders.

If anyone remembers the really good Grand Prix rider Gordon Crockard from a few years back, he was from Northern Ireland so part of the UK but couldn’t ride for GB at the MXDN because that’s not part of Great Britain so rode for Ireland.

Like Max Anstie but he is not going to win the championship. It's Deegans to lose now with Mc Adoo as his only competition.

Max had a very difficult bad luck streak a while back with injuries, almost like a Cinciarulo or Forkner of the other side of the pond. Quite a comeback, almost wrote him off a couple of times.

Don't they have 6 more races, or did you get a preview of the script?

Yeah, he’s a real quiet mellow guy, it’s not easy to interview Max because of his shyness and laid back demeanor. 🤦‍♂️

When Andy Murray won Wimbledon,  he was a Brit.  When he lost,  he was a Scot. 😁

Is he the oldest guy to ever have the points lead in 250SX? How old was Dowdy?

Not quite... he didn't exactly help himself when asked who he supported at the football world cup, and replied "whoever is playing England".

Funnily enough it was the usual whining about the English as if it was our fault when a lot of his support dried up south of the border afterwards..

The scots prefer battered mars bars and heroin to fish and chips.

Don't forget industrial-grade lager.
