I am a massive sports fan...but have lost interest int he stick and ball sports

College sports has been ruined with the transfer portal and NIL

NFL was awful this year and the pandering makes me roll my eyes

NBA hasn't been watchable since Jordan retired in 98

Baseball , i love but the rule changes they have made catered to the tok tok generation

NHL is really the only pure sport that doesn't cater to non fans

I love Supercross even if I'm still learning about it. MotoGp, F1, Indy, dirt racing, Rally cross. All those are so enjoyable

I'm going to my first supercross race in St Louis and taking my gf and son so I'm pretty excited

I understand wanting to get new fans but you can't abandon your core fans, like Nascar did and has

We don’t. It’s the owners of the industry (circus) wanting the industry (circus) to grow for the benefit of those who own the industry (circus).

We want to ride, save money, and get more cash in the pockets of pro riders (clowns).

I enjoyed it when Romo would say "now the Chiefs, the team with the Red Jersey and White Pants will have the ball" really helped me keep up with the game.

Put RC in an NFL booth and Tony in a Supercross booth and it would be hard to tell them apart 🙉

Because I want the whole world to know and see that mx/sx is the most badass, underrated, and most physically demanding (and dangerous) sport on the planet. Oh and 100X better than stick n' ball sports.

I just put my tinfoil hat on. Netflix is going to drop a Lawrence documentary in 2025, after he wraps up the 2024 championship. It’ll showcase the hardship of the family coming up, include a wicked crash highlight reel in the trailer. And document behind the scenes footage throughout 2023 outdoors and 2024 SX.  Just like drive to survive, it’ll boost ratings and interest in our sport. And push us blue collars out to be able to afford seats at the races.

What you described to a T, except the Lawrences, not just Jett. Watch them both wrap up the SX series on each coast, watch them both wrap up the MX series. Then SMX win/lose, and then watch them both battle in their rookie season in 450SX, and possibly crowning one as Champion!

Lets be honest the story would be Netflix worthy and get millions of views (but tickets ain't about to be priced like F1, there's too many empty seats).

Then, there is the "Bread and circuses" aspect...

Sport is perfect the way it is. Never understand why people want it to grow.

side note, watched the superbowl too, and rarely watch football. Would have been nice if they explained how OT works, none of us knew lol

I noticed in the Detroit round, which was on NBC, Weege made sure to define exactly what a "triple jump" is, and the term "athlete" was thrown around more than usual.

I almost feel like we're trying too hard to cater to non-moto people, and it makes us look like wannabes.

So SF won the toss and took the ball first, if they score either a field goal or TD, KC gets the ball and must match or outscore on that possession. If they do the game continues on like sudden death. If they don't the game is over and SF wins. So basically, after 1 possession each its sudden death.

Most viewed in US history because some sport events dwarfs the superbowl in comparison.

No need to explain. Had he been paying attention at the toss for overtime the Ref explained exactly how it worked. So much so even my wife understood and it was the first time we watched football in over 15 years.

side note. I wouldn’t have watched had she not been sick and stuck on the couch without anything else to watch. She was looking forward to the halftime show.

This topic comes up all the time… is it some sort of respect or recognition some are looking for?

Ideally, more fans brings more participants. More places to ride, keeping the ones we already have, open more often, better maintained.

More money being spent on bikes, accessories, gear, etc. should help quality and cost.

The leverage is over FELD and MX Sports not the networks. If people complained and refused to pay for Peacock SX and MX would still be on main stream like it was before. FELD and MX Sports took the risk and most just jumped over to Peacock.

Except almost nobody is on "main stream" any longer.   Most people have cut the cord and are streaming.  Our household....we don't get NBC, CBC, ABC etc.....  ...and I don't miss those outlets one bit.

I'm paying $20.00 for Peacock for 12 months.   It's worth it for the racing....I would not have Peacock for any other reason, their content blows.   I used to pay $99 for just SX.        I also don't want to own a DVR and have to watch races when the network decides to show them.

Your reply is exactly what FELD and MX Sports counted on when they went for the money.

Let's see.....   Cost savings to me cutting cable was around $120 a month (That was pricing 6 years or so ago)

Monthly cost for 3-4 streaming channels approx $45.00,  that includes Peacock which is $1.66 a month.

Sounds like sound financials to me.
