Out of the dozens of moto media guys, Weege is consistently able to look at the bigger picture and concisely verbalize his conclusions. No disrepect to the others, Weege just does it better.
He has an awesome memory too.
Yep. Weege is great at his job and very friendly in person.
I remember going to races when people were not pumped on MC in the mid 90's for his dominance.
My outlook is always for the racing to be exciting more than a particular outcome.
A close battle is what I want at the local track in my own racing too.
we went to Washougal a lot in the 90's, MC was the Fuckin MAN. that was in the middle of people thinking he was a bitch because he hadn't won a national title, but his pit was crazy and he was the only dude that went all out for the fans. the people that weren't pumped on him were salty bitches and Fro's bros.
Jett is a dude, anyone who says otherwise is probably a late 90's MC hating bitch
(not calling you a bitch CW just happened to quote your post because of the MC mention)

He was and is the king. We all knew it back then, even if some weren't happy with the facts.
What I love is that when someone puts a microphone in front of the guy and asks him something, he's raw and honest today.
There can never be another MC, even if his records are broken.
I was there too ('Shougal). Jeremy was a bad dude and we all could see it.
I like Weege, I hate when he does videos like this. To me it comes across as talking down on the fans of the sport, trying to over simplify, and stating his opinion of a situation as if it is fact. Kinda like when he goes on and on about how the broadcast is as good as it could possibly be and the fans are wrong for complaining about it. Jett is totally different than MC and ET based on media presence alone.
I’m one of the people that’s been wanting to see anybody BUT him win since he was a 250 rider, that fan perspective didn’t exist for the other two until years into their 450 careers. There will be no “circle” for me, when I heard “Friese cuts across and takes down Lawrence” I was very disappointed to see the 96 down instead of 18. And I know there are plenty of us here that feel the same way.
I can appreciate what a super talent he is sure, but when that helmet comes off I cringe at every word. And his fans are worse than he is.
That rant was so sour and hateful, I thought it was my wife!
You have some serious issues.
As do a lot of people here who can't just sit back and enjoy the sport as it unfolds.
Not just race to race, season to season, but over the long haul since it began.
"Weege show nailed it..."
Weege nailed what? Linky no worky!
you sound like a "late 90s MC hating bitch" Peelouts got you guys figured out.
He has probably eaten his.
I'm a Jett fan. I just don't want to see him have to fight for it. Like RC coming in and taking a couple years to finally take down MC and get rolling with his own period of domination. He earned his licks and I like that storyline better. But hey, the kid is THAT good and he's going to write the history books the way he wants too.
This wedge guy has a show ?
Im just here for the racing and want some damn good battles
First paragraph thumbs up. Rest of your drivel 4 thumbs down
What Weege doesn’t seem to understand is it’s not hate on Jett, it’s frustration with the media. I don’t remember Dave Despain, Art Eckman or David Bailey anointing MC or RC as being the best that ever swung a leg after such a short time at the beginning of their careers.
There’s no denying that the 18 is doing incredibly so far, but to start the GOAT or King talk after ONE SX win is way too premature, IMO.
Spot on.
I like Weege, but he whiffed it on this topic.
Pit Row
Sounded a lot like my ex-mother in law.
Fans....sheesh....very few of us actaully know any of these riders and even less interact daily with any of them, yeah we can see what they do on bike but how can we say we really like someone or dislike someone if we never met them. As a society why do we have to be so exterme on one end or the other. Jett is a great racer, but dont really care one way or the other what he says or does after the race.
There is always push back when there is a change of the guard. It happened with Stanton/Bradshaw and McGrath in 93’, Mcgrath and RC in 01’ (I could go on but you know the rest).
Some, not EVERYONE, want to see him succeed and some, not EVERYONE, do not want to see another potential decade of dominance from a single rider. We can’t predict the future but the stats don’t lie.
“The people that you’re used to seeing winning, it makes sense that they keep on winning, but the transition always comes and that’s the circle of racing.”
Ok I'm lost... what'd he say about Archie Bunker??
Meathead....
The media has to lean into Jett. He’s the most marketable rider by far. If he hadn’t just swept the outdoor series the hype would be less. And unfortunately for everyone else he has phenomenal technique and creativity on the track
he brings eyes to the sport which is what his team and sponsors and TV producers want. The rubber is really going to hit the road when Haiden moves to 450. It’s going to be the biggest rivalry the sport has seen in decades.
I prefer Pings take on most things…
So crack pot conspiracy theorist?
Potato-pototo
Ah yes, conspiracy theories. The highest form of journalism 😂
Motocross fans hate two things:
1. Change
2. When things stay the same
