Only $10 for all 2026 SX, MX, and SMX series.
While that is definitely an assumption, I highly doubt that Star Yamaha is cash flow positive. I’d be shocked if they were anywhere close to even breaking even with as many riders they are paying for. I know a couple team owners that flushed lots of cash m, but only one of them was cash positive. Mike Kranyak who owned the San Manuel Yamaha/ L&M Yamaha team told me he was the only Mx/SX team that had a positive cash flow… take that for what it’s worth
Clicked to learn about Mosiman. I learned nothing
He tested with star recently. Before that he was riding a Honda at Pala. Before that, he tested with Bar X.
If you really want an exercise in futility read this thread: https://www.vitalmx.com/forums/moto-related/what-happened-christian-craig

If I'm not mistaken, Yamaha pays the rider salaries. Some of these guys are on little salary and heavy bonus.
Just blows me away that a rider of his caliber didn’t have a ride locked down going into 2024. I did hear Mike Brown say on Swap Triumph was still looking for outside sponsors for funding. Perhaps things never panned out financially with Triumph to sign a rider of his caliber?
I will pass
All the Christian Craig haters should look at the x-ray of his 2009 spinal injury.
He’s injured, so that likely has something to do with it.
I assume this is Wilvo being referenced. Or maybe Ice One.
pretty sure that's just the 450 team.
Agreed
Star is in the car sales business so it all kinda makes sense
I think he said he didn't go there because of how fast haiden was and they would probably be competing for a ride.
When it’s time
He’s successful but team runs off sponsor dollars and the rest is a marketing write off. He couldn’t afford that roster + expenses on his dollars alone.
I was talking in general, not specifically about Star. Maybe read the context of the post I quoted and you would understand the context of the conversation.
This is a location in San Diego

Take your pick:
Standing Construct - Tim Mathys (Now on Honda)
Wilvo - Louis Vosters (Now on Fanatic)
KEMEA (Corpallets) - Hans Coververs (Now Running MXGP team)
And Yamaha his new MX2 team is run by the owner of Hutten Metaal, Wim Hutten. It feels weird that the factory set ups became leeches and suck passionate fans who are running those 'factory team' dry, while they are running and promoting their bikes...
Pit Row
Ahh gotcha, so you weren’t referring to Star in a thread about Star. Got it
Star racing has been around a long time. They were around way before yamaha turned the engine around on the 250 and made it a good bike. They were kind of a joke of a team before yamaha turned the engine around and star just so happened to be the only team running Yamahas at the time.
They merged with what remained of YOT. That’s how old they are. They also had Valli in the name for a while.
They were around wayyy before that. They’ve been racing since 1999
Blair said it was Star that approached 2 of their riders.
Star has a habit of hiring 250 guys that can’t keep the rubber side down, so this seems like a good fit.
Why isn't Austin Forkner a Star rider?
Yamaha pays the salaries for certain 250 guys, just like Kawasaki with PC.
It’s is crazy isn’t. Especially when you realize how non existent moto is in Wiggins Ms.
Would be awesome if this is actually true. Would be cool if something was released this weekend since Michael grew up in NorCal about 40 miles from SF.
I’m gonna wait to see if a reliable source confirms that before I believe it.
