For a first offering, ground up bike, it looks better than I expected.

Looking forward to ride and race reports.

Bike looks great. Can’t wait to see first rides and 450 next year.

also would be awesome to see an aluminum framed 350. I feel there has to be a huge market for that.

Looks pretty damn impressive all round. The bike, the approach they've taken, the quality of the build and so on. They're definitely in mx for the long run from what they've shown so far.

From watching their rider videos on Youtube, the bike sounds raspy, almost 2-stroke like. If the bike is good, they're going to win over a lot of new customers.

I see this and wonder "why?' OK, flame away here but with everyone going electric, why would a company sink so many millions of dollars in a brand new ICE bike for maybe 10 years of returns? Or, do they already have EV plans for the platform? How many years do you think it'll take to recover the initial investment?

Everyone going electric? Who? Where? Been to any races lately? It’s the same blue collar crowd buying bikes and they aren’t going to be buying electric. Wouldn’t be surprised to see more triumphs then starks a few years from now.

Judging by the signals auto manufacturers have given recently, the whole electric thing has gone from white hot to smoldering. Proving once again you can not legislate consumer demand.

The price is 9795 in British pounds on their website, so it’s roughly $12k usd; are they really 9995 for US sales?

Specs says 229 lbs wet

Mxa during its 24 shoot out says

Kx250f was the heaviest bike at 228

Yz250f lightest at 224

If it is 229lbs the engine need to be quite strong to have best power to weight in class. Don't think they would dare claim that if they weren't. I know they have been benchmarking the other bikes since long.

We are just at the beginning.  The momentum will increase exponentially. All the kids growing up on e-bikes give a rats ass about the PowerPoint. If it performs, they'll ride it. Ignoring it won't make it stop.

Looks a little...or a lot "Euro" or "Mulisha-ish, but overall I like it.

So its "Officially" a Husqvarna-style black/white '06 YZ250F Frame / KYB Suspension with the rest of the parts coming from old KTM designs. Got it.

For that price it should come with Kashima coated forks and shock.

Cars are different than anything else. Can you think of anything more regulated? Not a comparison. The transition to ev bikes will driven by demand as shown by Stark. There's no shortage of demand, their problem is lack of manufacturing capability. And yes you can legislate consumer demand. Try buying a 2T jetski in CA. Or an ICE bike without a license plate that you can ride on public land in CA.

However this will happen not from legislation but public demand. As soon as performance and ride times are superior, the great migration will begin. As the costs of solid state batteries come down with 30% more juice in the same size. Things are happening fast in this field, just not for cars.

Front number plate looks like ironman. Besides that, Awesome.

People are going to remove the black and put British racing green plastics on them and they will look brilliant.

I would think Triumph knows a thing or 2 about forecasting bike trends, etc.

I bet the bike will be quite a hit, but definitely looking forward to a BRG plastic kit

Sounding a bit disconnected with the customer base that buys MX bikes.

Great looking bike, and it looks like they've done their homework and are here to stay a while.

No criticisms here, other than the drawn-out pre-launch teasers.

I think the bike looks pretty cool. Kyb is a nice touch. Does the bike come stock with a Akraprovich exhaust and holeshot device or do they have a “factory edition” that comes with those? I didn’t think I was going to like the bike a year ago, I was wrong.

Where does it say the a bike powered by an electric motor is not an MX bike? But this was not meant to be an ICE vs EV debate. It was simply why is this a good business decision? How many bikes do you think they are going to sell this year? And how are they going to get a return on their investment? You don't think the shareholders want a return? So, I ask why invest so much money in a mature market that is shrinking? Simple question.
