Different day the same J Law.
Lol. This is perfect and on brand.
Regardless of the outcome whatever that may become, I enjoyed the crap talking and banter and stories that filled some time in the off season.
Could it be that he was overwhelmed with arena cross intensity. He did elude to it being quite a challenge to 'nut-up' to it. He isn't a young bull any more. He may have created a way out, perhaps.

When you’re washed up and trying to legit make anything out of your talent, you have no room to have an ego. I’m sure there’s way more to this story but it doesn’t really matter does it.
Damn, between him, Izzi, and Stroupe, this is the closest we've seen to a comeback.
Whatever the story, I suspect that there was a massive ramp-up in attention and pressure to interview and be constantly pushed for response etc.
For a guy trying to recover himself from a long period of problems and behavior issues I would think that is the exact opposite of what he wanted for himself.
Bailing out on all that doesn't seem so bad to me...
I hope he finds a way to be happy within himself. It would appear he hasn't managed to do that as yet.

Yea I have to agree and suspect that deep down he was probably looking for an out. To go from 0 for years to all of a sudden riding every day and big expectations to ride arenacrash I’m sure it was overwhelming. If he wants to make a comeback it would be a lot easier to just buy a bike and ride here and there and then slowly ramp up in intensity and media exposure if thats where he wanted to go.
Too much too quick, lots of hype and attention, a few weeks on the grind made him realise how long the road is back to professional racing- looked for an opportunity for an out and took it. Reminds me of Harry looking at Cole’s tachometer after blowing the engine in Days of Thunder. The glory days were too long ago- always a JLaw fan but it is what it is 🤷🏼
Stroupe actually raced some arenacross for Rockstar Husky.
Jlaw WAS a talented rider many years ago but come on he’s a kook.
Did anybody expect anything other than this outcome? What comeback was he going to do at 37? Vet nationals?
I am just absolutely shocked by this.
What ?!?!?! Unbelievable, NOT !!!
Wish nothing but the best for him. Must suck not being able to just go out and ride without eyes on you and undue pressure from “fans”.
J-Law is way beyond irrelevant at this point. I don't think he could even make a main event.
Why does everyone love Jlaw but hate Vince Friese?
Pit Row
What? Maybe read the actual responses here, there is no universal love for this dude.
I'm old enough to have watched him during his "prime" and there has never been overwhelming love for him. He played a role and was (maybe is) insanely talented, but he was a disruptor. It worked on some levels, obviously.
In my opinion he tried to hard to be the villain and it caught up to him. Doesn't seem like he's quite grown out of it, and if he has, he doesn't know what role to play now.
If what was said about this Phoenix thing is true, that doesn't make sense on their side either. If you have him there, have given him bikes and supported him at a race already, that seems like a strange question to ask. Maybe figure that out up front? Not like his track record is a secret. Nobody is surprised at this.
Spot-on. Phoenix knew what they were getting involved with and should have managed him accordingly. For these days Phoenix could have used Jlaw better as some kind of marketing tool than a racer. Especially in the off-season where the only competition is behind the mic of the next podcast.
The question probably came up because every interview he gave he seemed more interested in bench racing. Then would dance around and be invasive when asked about the racing part. That probably got back to them and they called him on it.
Better to call out a flake before they waste your time. When dude was probably gonna flake anyways. I think the better term is he's a mooch.
I stand corrected! I think this would have been the most impressive if he actually pulled it off though.
This is news?? If they were expecting ANYTHING other than what they got, it's on them.
Phoenix has gotten more publicity with Jlaw this autumn than they have gotten in the whole year. Don't know what they were expecting if this is true. Jlaw is a curiosity that draws a lot of attention, but you absolutely never know what you are getting out of him.
Bummer deal though, I doubt we will see Jlaw in arenacross after this
Stroupe came back and raced some arenacrosses in 2017 I think and podiumed a couple. Got busted for heroine a couple weeks after. Last I saw he was doing good and training at Jessica Pattersons or something? Any update on Stroupe?
If thats all it took he was waiting and looking for an out.
A 10sec clip of the Weege interview gave me all the insight I needed on that dude. He's fried. Drugs are bad mkay.
Good for him.
He's a 36 year old man, not early 20's still trying to figure things out.
This is the least surprising thing I will read today.
