He can definitely clear laps about as fast as anyone on ax. Do I see him actually showing up to more than one round? No. Jlaw is going through a midlife crises and doesn't know what to do anymore. Will someone give him an industry job before he has apply at an amazon factory? Jury still out

With all due respect, can someone please explain the obsession with this guy? How is he still relevant, and what makes people think he could still be competitive? Complete waste of talent, and it doesn't seem like he's a great guy. I just don't get it.

Life expectancy in the 🇺🇸 is 79. Close enough.

I figured I would start something moto related since the Ferrandis thread went to retirement at 2 million or living nicely on 20k a year.

During a time when everyone was a robot just thanking their sponsors and having no personality he was outspoken and kind of a rebel. He was talented so he could back up his rebel-ness so he gained alot of fans. Not saying he was right or wrong but that pretty much the jist of it.

I personally liked having someone having an edge and not being corporate during that time. I guess his life maybe went sideways but no one is perfect and its great he is back doing some races.

Pretty much, unless you think you’re gonna outlive most people.

I’m not sure but Taco told me he’s going to show him the business if he shows up.

I’ll have a bit more respect for him if actually shows genuine interest in racing a full series again, so much so that he’d be willing to go the privateer route without a team to back him. Starling, for example, said after he raced the GNCC that he wants to race as many GNCC rounds as possible next year even if the AMPRO team or any other team doesn’t want to help with bikes/parts again because he enjoyed it and is excited for a new challenge. All of these one off Jlaw rides just look like publicity stunts from the teams and Jlaw just randomly gets a call, shows up, and everything is taken care of for him.

Considering that time elapses exponentially faster the older you get, I'd dare to say that 37 is even passed your mid life point, even if you were to live to 74.

In 2024 the average life expectancy is 79, and climbing. As time goes and technological advancements are made, life expectancy will climb.

Compare people in their 30-40 in the 70s, to people now in their 40-50, big difference.

He got second place in an exhibition GNCC race. Dude is done. Seeing some of his latest interviews. He has not aged well. He looks rough. I don’t understand the fascination with him.

The point is, jlaw is pushing 40 years old and he has no skills other than dirt bike riding (which do you no good after 35) and virtually zero money left to his name.

the backstory here is that Jlaw was promised $1M for winning lites in 08. Instead of being paid his team folded up and gave him a rig and tools instead. He burned through that money quick and for the last 10-12 years has been living with friends, or on a camper at his grandpas place or some other friends floating around.

there's no doubt that the dude is going through some type of internal conflict, trying to post on social media to make himself relevant again. The problem is he doesn't really have the work ethic or customer service skills to even be a goggle guy.

I'm just not sure what his end goal is here or what exactly he's trying to get out of life at this point

37 is knocking on the door of middle age for a human being.

It's full-on elderly for a professional motocrosser.

I haven't got a clue how he'd do, but I'm stoked to hear he's interested.  It'd be cool to see him back out there getting gate drops.  Expectations from people need to be realistic, he's not going to line up with the same speed and intensity he had in 2008, but he's definitely got talent and I know a lot of us fans from back in the day will be pulling for him both on and off the track.

In case you're being serious, the current iteration of Ronnie Mac is Jimmy Albertson.

And combined with his chosen lifestyle, it wouldn't be a stretch to think he's already exceeded his life expectancy.

Let the guy ride in peace? Fuck that.

Let me tell you he was a major moron,  and deserves everything he gets.

He T boned and took out a number of riders for fun including Me, Grant Langston, Chad Reed (who wanted to fight him) at Cahuilla and Glen Helen on a practice days back in the day for no reason.

Didn't he bite someone's ear off too?

His life turned out the way it apparently is because of what kind of man he is.
