emergency alert on our phones today

Like the entire country, I received the emergency alert. Then you have an OK button to acknowledge you received it. After I pressed the OK button another window came up that said "loading" indicating that something was loading on my phone. Then after about 3-4 seconds the window went away. Anyone know what they were loading on our phones?

It makes you wonder why they are testing it....what do they know that we don't know right now that could looming?  Potential war, biological warfare, a real outbreak?

Mine didn’t have that. It said “no action required by the public”.

Because it's in the law it needs to be tested every 3 years.

Same. It appeared just as any other alert I have received.
Only thing slightly strange was that my wife and I were both in the same room but her phone went off several minute after mine. Same phone and provider. I took the screenshot right as hers went off.

We're all gonna die.  Clicking "ok" activated the self destruct feature on all our phones.

You CAN make this shit up.Silly

Only alert I got was a child abduction in NY state after I took off on a plane from Montreal to Washington DC Sunday. I was wondering if I got the Wednesday call early😂

Are you suggesting I should not have asked if this happened to anyone else?

Mine went off about 2-3 minutes earlier than they advertised.

I suppose earlier is generally good until it isn't.

Lol...no.  My wife said her message was in Spanish.  Mine wasn't.  Sounds like it came across different to everyone.

The whole "press ok thing" is definitely due to the way the phone presents certain notifications and has nothing to do with the test itself.

My policy is never hit ok. I got the same message. Tried the back button couldn't get rid of it. Turned the phone off to make it go away.

I'm probably on the troublemaker list now.

My phone had 2 messages. 1st one in Spanish, 2nd one in English. Had to hit OK twice to remove each one.

I was in a phone store when it happened. The place went nuts.

True story.

It's like them testing amber alert. That goes to every phone. It's an emergency alert.
