R&D at its finest
I’d say that’s a proper burnout
I bet that's the last Austrian bike we see do a championship burn out. Can't imagine anyone is too stoked on that.

Takes me all week to get through it. I'm at the Hartranft interview now.
This is most ridiculous shit I've ever seen
Huh, according to all the Stark threads, I was thinking only Electric bikes could do this, and one of many reason electric isn’t the way to go. It’s dangerous.
I guess ICE powered bikes burn to the ground too sometimes. Who knew! 🤷♂️
Steve already ranted about it on his show and it’s been on our homepage…
I get the need to celebrate but the whole rev limiter bashing and burnouts I can do without personally
There is a homepage? Who knew. 🤪
they should present him with the wreck, and a bill.
At least I linked it! I had no idea til it popped up on Vital's Facebook just now.
Looks like a party! I like it lol.
Burnouts are incredibly stupid.
What's worse, ghost ride or burning the bike? Will Deegan pick his bike up after the ghost ride and stick some bottle rockets in the tank to outdo Prado's celebration? Or will this result in less wild celebrations?
A friend of mine getting caught in Herlings rear tyre a couple of years back 😂
There will be no mistaking that bike at a museum in 20 years time, lol.
Burnouts, WFO rev limiter idiocy, setting bikes on fire….. complete insanity. Serves no purpose other than destroying perfectly good machines. SMH.
Pit Row
burnouts meh, but you win a championship and that's your urge, do it. you deserve it.
To a pro it’s not a possession or something they put hours into maintaining, cleaning, etc. like consumers so it’s not surprising guys on this forum don’t understand it
No you actually don’t. 99.9% of the time the rider doesn’t own the bike so it’s not his to destroy.
The same teams are that claim they can’t afford to give more rides to the athletes happily destroy resources…
contradiction indeed.
Congrats on the win but c'mon.... act like you've been there before, Champ.
It is an even stranger custom if you try and compare it to an everyday job. Like a contractor having a bonfire ,burning their tools at the completion of a job. I get it that the bikes are tools to the riders. And its not meant as disrespectful. They can do whatever they want. But its funny to think about relating it to other professions.
He really gave it the gas...gas.
What exactly is the problem with this? Life long dreams accomplished by many, and they are having an awesome time. Team owners obviously don't mind the burnouts and revs, team manager appears to not care, mechanics are in and part of it. If it was an issue for anybody that actually would care it wouldn't happen, so, where is the disconnect for the hate from you fuckers that wanna cry about it? When I was a mechanic I would have loved to had the opportunity to do and have that done to the bikes I built (got close with second place in west coast SX
). It's a god damn celebration for winning a championship. Its not like it happens at every race, and clearly there was a mechanical in this instance that led to the fire. For all you crybabies, its life, get out and enjoy it, shit happens. You can be as "safe" as you want and then boom, something basic happens and you're gone and all you did was run around be as safe as you can and guess what, you're still dead. Point is, you don't know when your last breath will be, enjoy life and celebrate the big moments, as big as you can while you can.
Deegan kicks his bike after it blows up and knocks him completely out of c-ship contention, and we have a multiple page thread within an hour full of people talking about disrespect, and how he's a little punk, etc. Prado literally burns his bike to the ground and it takes three days for a post to appear. After this many years, I shouldn't be surprised by Vitard silliness, but for some reason I always am...
One was a celebration, the other a blatant show of disrespect. I understand where Deegan was coming from and dont even blame him. At the core though, thats just disrepect to the team, the mechanic, the engine builder, etc. Was the team owner, the mechanics, the team manager out there kicking the bike too??? Thats the point that people are missing, if the guys that have a say and are vested, werent okay with it, it wouldn't happen. Again, why do people get all bunched up about it? It's their bikes, their money their team, their celebration and they are all okay with it?
So it's only disrespectful if it's on a certain side of the emotional spectrum?
100% yes...How is it this difficult for you to grasp?
Maybe it is where I grew up, but we love melting tires around here. Hell, I burn off just about every rear tire on my bikes right before I change them...You guys should try it.
