Jett sat up and let the old man ride by. That was funny.
I heard that Chase intends to protest it. Not supposed to use "Let ______ Bye" tactics against members of your own team
Jett sure didn't look like he was all that happy tearing off all of his tear offs after the race was over.......seemed a little persnickety at the time
Jett let Ken win since he just had a kid a few days ago. Made me more of a Jett fan. He used the goggles as an excuse, he and his team guy were laughing at the end of the race

โI can still win even if I let this damn German who is hounding me by? Bet.โ
I think to an extent it shows how serious Jett is taking this SMX vs a true championship.
The emptiness in Kenโs eyes said it all, and JT trying his hardest to make Kenโs win legit.
I feel like Jett was towing Kenny trying to drag him ahead of Chase. From about lap 4-5. It looked quite obvious what he was trying to do and then when he let him by it was like yup he def is playing that points game. Insuring Chase doesnโt get to Kenny. Iโm sure weege could tell too, surely they didnโt really think he was having bike problems. ???
You have way to high thoughs about Weege..
The same moment Jett let Ken by we all knew what he was up to and neither RC or Weege could get a grip of it (chocker)โฆ
Jett did not have a sweat tear when he crossed the line, thatโs not the look of someone that have fought their hardest to win.
Smart kid - Why race KR hard when all you need to do to get the win is let KR and coast in over the finish line. Smartest move ever.
That German world SX champ was on it, then the Aus and in mx2 it went Aus then Japan.
He didn't want to get passed...
I didn't buy his excuse.
I really dont understand the logic here..
Jett ultimately gave up points on chase, how is that the smart move?
If he stays ahead of Kenny, then Ken would have beaten chase in the tie breaker..
I think Kenny was gonna pass him anyway, was this just a way of taking the second?
super confusing..
Jett didn't give up any points to Chase. SMX uses olympic style points per moto, 1 point for 1st, 2 points for second etc. At the end of the night the rider with the lowest points tally is awarded the win. Jett was trying to make sure that he still won the overall, kenny got second and chase got third
I didn't find it classy at all and it was disrespectful to Ken. It was like: "I'm so good, I'll give you the victory, you loser." At least, don't raise your arm like Savatgy at the monster cup, it was so arrogant. Not the first time that Jett did some shit like that. Ken had nothing for Jett in second moto in my opinion. Jett played with him like he did with Chase in outdoor. Jett humiliates everyone by playing the cool guy but be careful Kid, one day, the SX god could cut you down bad like Roczen in 2017.
Jett's math was off. Kenny had a legit shot at passing him straight up. I would take it, but that's not the kind of win Kenny wants.
I am a big Ken Roczen fan, but if he is gonna get a win against the other two, it will most likley be gifted in one or another way.
And for all of you semi-blind people that belive that Jett let him by because Jett not wanted to get passed, look at the second moto at Pala when he fought Sexton the whole moto to keep him behind, this was NOTHING like thatโฆ
An arrogant move by Jett, no more and no less. It had to be a humiliation for Roczenโฆand for Jett to put it off as a bike issue is pretty lame. I feel as if Jett Lawrence might be getting ready to experience some โMoto Karmaโ.
Pit Row
Well he did pass and beat Jett straight up last week. Same with Sexton this week. Not much gifting going on there
If anything, this probably adds more fuel to Kenny's fire. I'm not sure if Jett did himself any favors there
I was their watching it live. Kenny, was taking lines that were still shit for the first 10 minutes and slower because they were not ready like the main line jett was in. Ken from lap 3 on was building the track up so that he could have lines to pass jett in. So even while Ken's prepping some lines for later in the race, Jetts not pulling away at all. 2 of those 3 corners he was working would kill all of his momentum at first an Kenny would lose a good bit of ground but by the time they got back to the finish line he was back all over jett. Once those lines formed up he started taking the main lines jett was in and his new lines no one was really taking. It was just a matter of time. You could see Ken was faster from lap 4 on or jett was thinking he would fade.
I haven't watched the race on TV yet so I have no idea what it looked like there but live. Kenny had him all day that second moto. If jett could have beat him he would have held on for the 5 more minutes.
Ya'll are delusional to think Jett was scared to get passed by Kenny so he waved him by. It's a race. NOBODY waves someone by for the win. Racers want to win. He had to have given him the gift of a win for some reason we will likely never know. They're probably bros and letting him win for the new baby sounds more believable than all the others I've heard. I think it all a bad look. You don't wave someone by to let them win. Ever. Jett should've "made a mistake" and made the pass more believable
After 26 motos on a 450, i can't believe there's anyone who has watched Jett race who thinks he was scared to get passed by someone. He's not mentally weak. Dude is as confident as it gets. He's beatable as we saw last week. But he isn't scared.
He has been in the situation dozens of times and he was calm and just kept pushing and held on. For a hell of a lot longer than he would have needed to in SMX. 30+ minutes in hot dry conditions with Chase pushing him. Jett can hold on for a few laps in SMX if he needs or wants to.
His reasoning was ultimately pointless. But at one point i had the same thought that it might work out better for Jett to let Ken win. Though unlike Jett my math was fucked up on crediting Chase with a 2-2 automatically. Thinking if Ken goes 3-1 that gives him the edge over Chased 2-2 before realising i had fucked up and Chase was a 2-3 so there was no need. Because the tie breaker already went to Ken with the second.
Would much rather each moto paid points. Jett would have had every reason to fight for the win rather than trying to be cute with the points and thinking hewas taking some from Chase. Though while his math was wrong, its a good sign he's thinking about not only getting the most points for himself. But also how many points his rival will get.
Itโs obvious Jett knew he was going to get passed by Kenny so he let him by, who pulls over to let someone win ๐คฃ.
Whatever Jettโs reasoning was, it was a crappy move and I hope we never see something like that again..
I think Kenny was pushing Jett out of his comfort zone, so instead of getting passed he pulled over to make it look like it was his choice to get passed..
Does anyone have a replay of the podium interviews? I missed it live and can't find a replay with the interviews
This along with he didnโt want race him hard and take a chance of going down. Then combine the fact of getting passed would water down how great a season. Maybe something to the points thing but I doubt he ran the numbers in his head. My guess that decision was made at higher level.
Jett let Ken past on lap 9.
Laps 5-8 Jett ran 1:52 lap times 3 out 4 and the other was a 1:53.3.
Same laps Kenny only once went under 1:53 when he did a 1:52.9.
Kenny was not catching Jett.
Pretty simple the kid couldn't do math...
I donโt have a problem with Jett โthinkingโ during the race, but he should have just kept his reasoning to himself on the podium. He meant it in a good way, but it came off kind of dicky. He will figure that part out with maturity.
