My guess is Jett screwed up the math and honestly thought it benefited him to put Kenny between him and chase. When it came time to explain it he probably started to realize his in race math was fuzzy and just fumbled through some answer. Cannot imagine him being that soft or petty to let him by like that otherwise, but we'll never know!
Lesson to Jett is to just race. Stop doing math and waiving guys by or over thinking it. Just race.

Its possible to be a huge jett fan (as I am) and say what he said was dumb, and for it to not be hate or even a big deal at all. I know its hard to believe, but humans are cable of walking and chewing gum. Nobody is saying to cancel him, boycott him or whatever else. He said a dumb comment, ppl said he said a dumb comment, and thats the extent of it. The overreactions to ppl just pointing out the obvious are crazy.

This was a bad look for Jett, both with the fans, and, I suspect, with his employer.
For what it's worth, I think Ken was pushing a pace that Jett didn't want to risk, for little/no benefit, but his ego wouldn't allow himself to be passed "straight up"... so he had to make sure everyone knew he "meant to do it".

Jett should have just tucked the front end son.... What was up with Jett pulling his tear offs all at the end like he was pissed. I think Jett is starting to deal with some pressure about not losing. Herlings talked about that pressure on his Vital podcast. I think Jett is starting to suffer from that a little.

Gee you guys really overthink stuff eh? Ken just had a baby boy (congrats Ken), Jett respected that by giving him a "gift" so fucking what if you dont like it, Jett doesnt care, Honda doesnt care he still got the overall and points lead.

These races have been great. I've barely checked my fantasy team so that's a good gauge that I'm locked into the racing. The 65s were really cool. Too bad about that kid that crashed on the last lap and was planning to drive all night to an offroad race. Hope he's okay.

Lap times for laps 5-8 (Jett let Ken past on lap 9):
Jett ran 1:52’s for 3 out of 4 of those laps and his worst was a 1:53.3.
Ken only dipped into 1:52’s once in those same three laps for 1:52.9.
Ken wasn’t running him down, but believe whatever you want.
If anything it showed how seriously Jett is taking the SMX vs a real championship series.
