Third world countries get guys to the race. If these teams and this country can't do it, it's because of choices made, not some financial hurdle that can't be overcome or some metaphysical impossibility. People need to stop just accepting these explanations as gospel. It's bullshit. The rest of the world laughs at us because they know it's bullshit.
If Triumph just wants an insurance policy on Swoll then wtf dont we buy him one and he goes! I mean how much are these policies? Either way, sack up and lets do it. Forgive me if this has already been mentioned i have tried to read all 20+ pages but it's possible i skimmed over it
Now if these poilices are out of a justifiable reach and that crazy expensive please ignore.
Couldn't agree more...
Business implies making a profit. I'd be interested to see which racing teams actually make a profit.

There are a lot of multinational companies in Australia, that don't make a profit in Australia!
Marketing departments don't exist for the marketing department to make a profit.
R&D doesn't exist so R&D can make a profit.
Probably. I'm talking about race teams in the US. With the possible exception of actual factory teams e.g. HRC, KTM USA etc, how does any team make a profit from racing? There is no inherent wealth generation from racing. The factories can justify racing costs against bike sales.
Motocross bike sales wouldn't cover factory teams costs, it's more for brand recognition, that's why Honda can afford to spend the most, they have so many more consumer products, to sell than the other manufacturers.
Any real legs to the AP, RJ and Craig option? I know Craig just got on the bike, but this would be a million times better than not going. If a few things broke their way I bet they could put it in the top 4 or 5. Is Pierce Brown not an option?
It just makes no sense. Just to be a part of it. True, it's a serious long shot the USA can win, but hell, look at the list of countries participating. Most have no chance, but they go, just to be part of the event of the year. Cowardly to hide just because you feel you can't win, step up to the plate, more respectable than hiding!
This thread needs to be archived somewhere so it can be referenced when the race is over and you "just send a team" people start bitching because AP/RJ/[250 rider] cost the US X position...
Jack Chambers is already in Europe, used to racing MX2-class. Put him on the team. So a real Puerto Rican can race for the Puerto Rican team.
Countries like Chile are sending a team FFS.
The biggest issue i have with this is that USA have so much going for them that it's insane that this is even a topic.
1. By far the biggest country
2. By far the biggest industry.
3. Not only the biggest country and industry, also the richest.
4. Biggest and thus richest federation (AMA)
5. By far the biggest talent pool.
6. By far the most high-level rides (factory or very well funded private teams compared to the rest of the world).
Seriously, how the fuck can this be an issue? It's beyond embarrassing. It's a disgrace.
Chile sending a team, Mexico sending a team. Come on!! This isn’t a money problem and it’s not even that huge amount of money that it should be a prob that can be solved.
but it’s even more ridiculous that us riders trash the everything about mxgp and can’t even go over here to show how it’s done.
we hear all this shit about full gates in ama bla bla bla bla bla bla bla. Yet still can’t get a nations team together to show how great of an Mx nation they are. What a bunch of clowns🤣
And the hits keep coming. Still trying to stay positive but man this is looking rough…
On a more positive note, Zulz made MXoN themed and ISDE themed bags. Proceeds go to each team respectively.
The motocross bags are jam packed full of excuses.
Pit Row
They’re unfortunately NOT filled with money 🙃
"Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a winner" Nail on head.
Rest of the world is laughing and shaking their heads for sure
Brian is one smart dude when it comes to brand marketing but telling his kid to say all of the America stuff is really coming back to bite them. It will blow over and everyone will eventually move on but I kind of feel bad that Haiden is getting all the heat tbh.
I’m with you on that man , I think it’s more Brian pulling him out than haiden to be honest , listening to pulp now and Paul says if sexton was in he’s sure coop and deegan would of been in also , the whole star not backing it is 100 percent bullshit
We knew the Star thing was BS, because when Ferrandis wasn't picked, he DIDN'T blame Star... There was no mention of not going because of getting permission or bikes from Star. In fact it was the opposite, the FFM baulked at the 70k Star were going to charge them...
It is only recently that Star now realised there were these 3 SMX races, and that their riders needed them to provide an excuse (because they didn't want to be part of a team if Sexton wasn't riding), and Star have provided that excuse.
If only this race happened every year so they could’ve planned for it a bit better
Decoster, the team manager, literally runs three of the factory MX teams in this country, he can not get three riders from the three teams? Add to that he has alienated two more teams in Pro Circuit and Monster Kawasaki, if fielding a team was so important to him wouldn't he resign or step down so any of those teams riders could go? He has had a year to figure who should go, where money is coming from, etc..
Aged well don 😂
Chile will be there..
Danger being 17 I don't think he is the one making the decision. Only later in life will he know if it was a mistake.
