I'd be all in with Colt riding a GP Beta 450. He's been on a handful of different bikes recently and would be able to adapt. That puts Hampshire back on a 250... Do it.
Ty is better on the 450, but I'm sure he could rent an F&H Kawasaki 250 and shred on it.

Ty is on antibiotics to keep his appendix in check for SMX but asking 2 more weeks plus travel and MXdN is a huge risk and probably too much to ask…but I am not a doctor…nor did I stay at a Holliday Inn Express.

When factory riders want to do off-season races, they don't have trouble doing them. And you must think these teams are horrific at business if you don't think they'd jump at the chance to have their name and face at an event like this on someone else's dime if that were offered.
Deegan has leverage. It's that simple. When you're the star you don't have to own anything or put up the money because you have leverage. Stars in sports dictate all kinds of things to their much wealthier owners all the time. Riders bailing on Baker's farm.... Eli training in Colorado.... guys insisting on doing their own deal for this or that.... the best guys have the most leverage and are able to get things done that they want done. In this case he's using that leverage to get star to take the heat for him.
It's just not plausible that Deegan wouldn't be going one way or another if he truly wanted to be going. This notion that it's just a hard no from Dictator Star when their other 250 guy went last year and set his wedding around going again this year and they've supported several efforts in the past.... it's just laughable.
You won't find Deegan hate from me anywhere on here. Have defended him and given him credit many times. He just doesn't want to go and that's OK, but let's stop being so naive about it.

I wasn't aware of the extent of Ty's medical issue.
So let's switch that to Marchbanks and a Gebbon Yamaha. I'm confident the bikes would NOT be an issue if people were on the ball here.
At a point in my career about 15 years ago, I was a "fixer". I was sent in to a location where our business was underperforming and had a short period of time to turn it around. I was good at it. You can't be passive... You make phone calls, you ask questions, you make offers, if you don't immediately succeed, it's surprising how often one call leads to another and soon you've got momentum. This guy says try that guy and so on... Soon you've made a connection.
Most of these riders are contracted to race ONLY specific events.. ANY race beyond the specific scope of the contract is based upon approval by the team. This includes MXoN, Off-Season races...etc.
These contracts also stipulate WHAT bike they can ride, where and when...etc.
Doing anything outside the scope of what the contract allows can be and almost always is considered "breach of contract". I've seen people get in trouble with this kind of thing going all the way back to Factory Kawasaki taking Larry Wosick's bikes from him...at Mammoth...I think...in the mid 80s...?

Why did Justin Cooper move his wedding date to be free for the original MXoN date? If Star was absolutely not supporting any riders going then why bother shifting his wedding around?
Maybe something changed between then and now with how Star feels?
