Exactly right.....I just want to know where all the nut huggers are that were portraying this is as the best series ever, stating factory teams would leave the US series, it would shut down the outdoor series etc etc.
With all good intention, different circumstance have lead to what appears to be a failure.
The biggest block was the knee jerk implementation of the SMX races.
Let's wait and see how long smx lasts and what the payout will be in the following years.
Personally I just want more outdoor nationals.
SMX was not a knee jerk but at this point if you believe that, you’re clearly not interested in facts
In regards to SMX. FIM forced their hand with better payouts, which at this point they're going to have to leave even if WSX completely fails in a few months. Then also pissed AMA off enough to make the "pLaYoFf" races, that I think are completely pointless, in September when WSX would have wanted their schedule. FIM basically shot themselves by accepting the split from AMA. And the AMA runs events better, in my opinion, anyways. FIM has far too big of a chip on their shoulders. No one there knows how to properly run an event or create a schedule that works. I'm truly surprised that MXGP has been around as long as it has, but I'm positive the people running MXGP are NOT the same people involved in WSX.
His name is Chad and he likes the number two
If WSX folds and screws over the teams, do the teams have any recourse with the FIM? The are "sanctioning" this series does thar put any responsibility for the series happening on them?
On top of that, don't forget that initially, 2022 was supposed to have 5 races and 2023, 11.
This is the previsional schedule from may 22.
As far as I’m aware, Singapore is off and none of the teams I spokes to seemed to be preparing for it.
Avoiding confrontation with the other series is not how "a collective of world class masterminds" build " the preeminent and first truly global supercross championship, featuring the sport's elite riders to stadiums around the world".
You know "everybody wants to race WSX".
Are they preparing for any races?
Say wsx does claim they have the funding. How many teams are actually going to sign up for 2024 after this fucking disaster? Right now you have alot of guys making zero dollars and fucked themselves from making money at other events.
How does WSX failing to deliver on their promises mean SMX is a knee jerk reaction to WSX? The 3 SMX races are actually happening. Wouldn't the clusterfuck of a rollout and numerous canceled rounds both years of WSX kinda prove the opposite?
How many times has it been mentioned that SMX was planned before wsx ever was a thing? And is it true?
Pit Row
There’s no doubt SMX was proposed well before WSX came into being, but it’s also pretty clear that WSX was the catalyst for making SMX actually happen, and in a hurry.
Pretty sure we’re in agreement here. The SMX thing was being planned for a couple years before WSX was announced and therefore was not a knee jerk reaction to WSX
Do you have evidence of this other than that one was announced after the other, or you just feel like it?
I agree that it was talked about and investigated, but not planned.
If it was actually planned years ago, how is it that one week out from racing, the schedule has only just become available, courtesy of the venue not the promoter, a rider (Starling) who’s supposed to be racing (LCQ), doesn’t know what’s going on, and there’s been no release of who exactly is in?
All the things that WSX was constantly bashed for, but worse. Extremely poor planning if they started years ago….
“That's just, like, your opinion, man.”
I can’t answer that but the races are being run, money is being paid, so no, not worse than WSX. It’s far better, actually.
I know you’re a huge supporter of the WSX series but to say that SMX has been executed far worse than WSX is pretty rich
There’s no doubt the racing will be better, and I’m a moto fan so I love all racing and unlike others, I won’t gloat over the demise or failure of any series, race or rider. I hope SMX absolutely kills it.
Certainly is.
However, got any other rational theory or reason why SMX appears to be so lacking in organisation at such a late stage? Not even WSX was this bad for any of the races they did actually run.
I think you’re stretching here a bit…I don’t think they’re lacking organization maybe just somewhat on communication…And come on you really think at this point you can even try to compare them to WSX…if I remember right you one of those that thought WSX couldn’t do anything wrong and were their biggest defender….
Quit down voting Magoofan you toads, he speaks the truth!
And you know the second SMX round will actually happen, and even when and where.
Can’t compare? Did WSX ever not have a published schedule or rider list a week out from a race they ran? Did any entered riders ever say they didn’t know what was happening a week before their supposed gate drop? MX Sports and Feld are not new to this, it can’t simply be poor communication.
As for WSX, yes I did defend it, but it was support in principle, because so many like yourself were determined to bag it at each and every turn. Well before the first race was run. Yet if I remember rightly, with SMX you’ve been saying we shouldn’t be negative before it even starts! 😂
My support for WSX was merely as an international fan wanting to have an accessible SX series. I fail to see how you can be a true moto fan if you delight in watching it or any series fail. Must be miserable individuals.
