Honestly you must be blind to not see that the engine is basically a ktm engine. The blot line up etc. They just changed the valve cover/ clutch cover. They probably bought the right to the old ktm engine and they are built by zongshen in China. Zongshen however decided to release the ktm engine without changing the cover as you see in the Russian video that was posted. And finally the Chinese company Koshine has bought the right to the carburated 2 stroke ktm. The are selling the 125,150, 250 and even a 300cc 2 stroke ktm clone. I talked to the company and every ktm parts for to these engine.

Please post a video where you are bolting KTM parts onto a Triumph engine.  We'll wait...

I have no doubt they had all of the competitor's engines lined up and took design queues from all of them.  JUST LIKE KTM back in the early 2000's.  Yamaha (and briefly Husaberg)  are the only brands who have broken the mold in the last 25 years with 4-stroke design.  All others have reverse engineered and re-engineered existing designs.  There are MANY similarities to existing platforms, but it is OBVIOUS there are enough differences to see these did NOT come from the same molds or castings as KTM.

I just find the negativity amazing.  With all the complaints about racing whether it's available rides, or lack of pay, why aren't we ecstatic another brand is supporting the sport by developing a new platform?

Curious if it has the quick release to clean the air filter.

It's always easier to leave a negative comment over a positive one.

I'm not saying they've done a great job with their rollout but it's not going to be some downfall of the brand. They've built a lot of excitement and hype for the brand, the upcoming rollouts of racing info, the facility they've built, partners in the team, etc will get people pretty hyped. Seeing how much money they're investing into the sport, creating jobs and rides, etc.

The bike will be released, it'll sell well, and most will forget the drawn-out launch decisions.

They may very well succeed in sales and racing which I hope does happen but as a consumer of motorcycles and fan of MX, this has been a poor experience.

Does anyone on here actually give a damn about performance, or just looks? Just makes no sense. Like a bunch of little children. Hows the plastics shape change anything? Wait for the performance statistics. That matters.

There is just a general sense of disappointment. We were told something all new was coming. But the engine is a ktm clone. The frame looks like an aluminum frame ktm prototyped but never used. And the plastics look a lot like the GG. I know Bijaj is making the engines for them and they also build KTM engines, and maybe frames too?  I’d be highly surprised if many of the parts aren’t interchangeable between triumph and KTM.

Not sure if that is what production bikes are going to actually look like, but wow, everything is black.  Might as well anodize the bolt heads black too at this point, make it perfect.

...but seriously, how does one take pictures that bad in this day in age.   Did they accidently smear the lens with the celabratory cake being passed around.  WTF.

I sure hope the bike isn't black like that...black is a horrible dirt bike color.

I count at least four in the first pic. Maybe one of them can send us clean pictures.

The pictures look like someone took a video on an iPhone, then texted it to a andriod phone and took screenshots from that.

Obviously the pics are intentionally blurred and a planned "leak" that is part of the marketing strategy.

Normally I'd say this sort of thing wouldn't surprise me, but that theory doesn't really gel with the way that they've handled this launch so far.

That was my first thought.

I still don't understand why iPhone does that.I can send an android pic to an iPhone and it looks great. The other way sucks.

It certainly doesn't make me want to run out and get an iPhone.

I just tell people to email them to me if I want to see a sharp image.

Multiple industry insiders have said this was intentional, but what makes it even more obvious is that the mods haven’t deleted them. If they were unauthorized they’d be out of here.

To all the disappointed people. What were you expecting?  Seriously, they are a motorcycle manufacturer trying to jump right into the highest level of motocross competition with 2 wheels, shocks, motor and a frame. We praise all other manufacturers for innovation sans Suzuki, we scold them, but are going to frown upon a new bike that could have very well picked pieces and parts to clone from the best of the best and put out a solid competitive motorcycle before physically seeing it, hearing it, riding it, etc. I’m more than sure now, that I have seen Ivan Tedesco ripping the shit out of this bike with a subtle unique sound   I’m stoked and can’t wait to see one without looking through what feels like beer goggles. Thanks Triumph for putting another choice out there. Cheers!

You talked to the whole company?

I sent an email to koshine and they confirmed any ktm parts fit on their engine since it is the same.

Im not as mad as other ppl in here. Im glad that another manufacturer is going to be paying 2 new teams/classes of riders. Also KTM offers 3 different brands but they all basically use the same stuff. An aluminum framed KTM actually IS something different than what we’ve seen so far. Plus I’m sure they’re just using a cheat code to enter the game at a high level but will be able to slowly grow/change over time from there vs what we were promised with husky gasgas that never happened. Husky and gasgas were supposed to start out as different color KTMs and then over time they would go in different directions, that hasn’t happened at all. The triumph is actually going to have a completely different feel than a KTM with its aluminum frame. Now if you love the KTM engine/ergos but aren’t a fan of the steel frame you actually have another option.

As I said in another thread, this will be a marketing fail which it has been. It's been laughed at and mocked. People for the most part are not interested in a dangling carrot, specially when it comes in bits and pieces.

In 250fs

Yamaha started it and then turned the engine around
Honda had quite a unique cam design.

Ktm was quite unique

kawi and Suzi was one engine that felt very ‘inspired’ by existing - which is only one engine that was a sort of copy

Now 2 with triumph. But the copying is an exception not the widespread norm.

There biggest mistake is making a 250 before a 450 or even 350. 250’s are such a small part of the market. They would have an easier time marketing and selling a 450.

Oh yeah, total marketing fail! Almost 5x the amount of views on the frame video vs. KTM's 2024 lineup announcement and only in nearly 1/4 the amount of time and subscribers. Pinch

I may have phrased that badly. Vet riders with money to blow on a new brand of bike are typically riding 450’s not 250’s.
