Where does he end up next year? Anything signed?

Really thought this would be his breakout summer after the first round of outdoors. Dude has the best style out there IMO, but for some reason things just haven’t clicked to be a consistent podium guy. Hope the change of scenery can kick it off for him - he’s been at KTM since he was a child…

Nah sadly KTM250 is not the best bike in USA, if only Decoster/ Harrison could turn some serious attention it may change.  But who knows what benefits DBlair might have working with the amateurs' could be.

The kid has 0 race craft and was moved up too early. It has nothing to do with the bike.

When ktm wins in Europe they think there 250 in America is good enough. Which clearly is not the case. The ktm 250 has not been a top bike since Marvin was battling jmart for the 250 title.

Agreed.

You gotta wonder what Vialle's feedback is, behind the scenes.

And if they'll listen to him.

I say the same thing about Sexton.

Will they help him develop his new ride, or just give him a mechanic and directions to the starting line ??

I couldn't disagree more. Any section I would watch at Unadilla he looked the best on the track. Funny how people watch the same guy and see something different. I don't see anything special with Hunter and he's the champ

Hunter is about as technically perfect as you can be on a motorcycle(Jett as well). He allows the bike to work the way its supposed to and he doesn't waste energy moving the bike around.  That's what is special about him. He doesn't look fast but ask the 39 other dudes on the track with him if he is.

Vohland does the exact same thing. Just not as quickly.

Hunter and Jett look worlds better on the bike. Vohland looks like he's got a stick up his ass

I would not describe his stiff-as-a-board elbows-glued-to-his-sides posture as "good style". That being said I think the best style is the one that gets you to the finish line fastest.

I think he’s going to PC. Don’t think husky is an option anymore.

Zero racecraft ??
Talon didn’t want to move him up when they did, so I’ll agree that their plans of when to move up were altered, but c’mon man…. The kid has everything it takes to make it in this industry, don’t kid yourself. I like watching him ride, he’s got a great style, it’s just not text book like a few others have.

I love when guys who can’t even sniff the speed these guys have and critique their riding styles lol.

I don’t mind it, it’s different, and being different is always cool to see in this sport. RV was way different and people still loved watching him.

I always picture that south park episode where that McMahon WWE guy has the opera glasses / binocular dealy's and is critiquing the kids backyard wrestling... 😂

You really watch Vohland and think he does the same thing as Jett and Hunter on the bike? Vohland looks like an overactive amateur to me, like he watched a few videos and he's trying to emulate what the pro's do.

He's from my area, I grew up racing his dad (albeit from afar lol), and I really hope he figures it out....but he is so far behind the top guys right now, it's going to take a massive shift.

I really don’t see how anyone can say his riding style isn’t proper…but ight. Dude looks like Christian Craig out there and everyone praises him?

Like Christian Craig? We are talking about Max Vohland, right? Number 34?

The kid doesn't always get the best starts. I can't say that's bike-related or not, but if you've paid attention he is usually toward the front of qualifying times and always moving forward in the motos unless he starts in the top 5. The biggest thing that stands out to me from my couch is his forward progress seems to stop around the 25min mark and at times loses spots in the last 5 min after making passes the whole race. Take that for what it's worth

KTM needs some fresh management. How many years has the  KTM 250 been the stepchild.

From what I hear KTM USA is like a fender. Shiny on the outside but crap underneath.

There needs to be some fresh air there.

Might be an unpopular opinion but i don't think he has the raw speed. Awesome riding style but he just isn't fast enough. Sure there have been a couple of races when he has been fast but the majority of time he lacks speed to consistently be on the podium or win.

I would say that's just what it comes down to. If he had the speed he would run up front more or work his way to the front. His best finishes have been with a great start. Has he ever got buried on the start and even worked up to the podium?

Max led a good part of the first race he was in at Pala until his bike blew up, and then like AC had a bunch of injuries.

This year, he was the 2nd highest placing KTM group rider, just a few points shy of last years MX2 world champ. Ahead of RJ, who got injured and didn't race every round like Max.
