It’s insane to me than those rider with agent who represent them can’t be foresighted and work to find deal a year before the end of the contract. Like in 2022 they didn’t know his contract was ending in 2023 ?!
Sexton who sign early with ktm was right when people laughed at him.
Why on earth would he want to spend the waning years of his championship-winning career trying to develop a bike to race in a sport as dangerous as Supercross, especially since he’s never had much 450 SX success to begin with?
Ask The King how the KTM development year worked out for him.
We’ll see how right he was come Anaheim. Cooper couldn’t get away from the current KTM platform quick enough.
Their 450 looked just awful last weekend.
Lupino is a good rider but he finished in the high 20s both motos I think?

That Kawasaki has "locked in" two riders...neither of them having finished top-5 in this past season consistently...while a proven Champion, and a rider who has made it into the top-3 quite often, is sitting without a FACTORY ride is preposterous!!
It really is astonishing that Ferrandis doesn't have a Factory Ride for the next two years. He is clearly the only rider that can even think about running with Jett and Chase upfront in a National. KTM in Europe only has Herlings; who can't seem to stay off the ground anymore. DV... any chance Ferrandis heads back across the pond? It is a bummer for sure, but I would imagine he could at least get paid and have a true Works bike under him. Throwing him in the mix with Prado, Febvre, Gaiser, Herlings, etc.. I don't see why Dylan wouldn't be one of the favorites to win the title.
This Cooper couldn’t get away from KTM fast enough?
They are privately held so the only people that know their finances are the owners. They keep even bike sales to themselves. They are smart too, they don't overspend. They have the 2 guys they want. But I'm like everyone else here its surprising he does not have a ride.
Might be a perfect opportunity for Pro Circuit to field a proven 450 rider, like when they were possibly going to help Roczen last year?
Yea....I don't see Nichols cracking the top 10 at all next year. There will be a lot of "the bike isn't ready" type comments from the riders next year
Yes, that one. Nobody had any complaints about the old bike. No one has anything good to say about the new one.
I think he has a couple years left in him. He didn’t like the bike for what ever reason and I’m sure riding past your comfort zone on a bike you’re not jelling with is going to bite you eventually and it has. Get him on somthing he’s comfortable he’s top 5 all day long
Get ready for a lot of "trusting the process" comments.
Yeah it will be interesting to see how Beta does first rattle out of the box here in the US. I bet a top 10 would be considered a success. We seen bigger surprises as in Ty Masterpool. Also be interesting to see if any models will hit show room floors this year. I can’t recall what my Beta dealer told me about the 450 RX. Seems like he didn’t know much. If they do hit showrooms some day I’d bet slightly underpowered but handle good with hard seat LOL. Maybe the next RMZ with electric start!!!
Either way I’ll be rooting Beta, I have 24 300 RX setting at the HQ in California waiting to Ship. My wife would be excited for lack of better terms if I came home with a 4 stroke RX to match!!! Even though I’d mentioned a new Beta. The light didn’t go off until this morning. It was not pretty but Im safe until I bring it home.
Brands that are entering MX/SX or the US field could also offer some stock options like for any board members to make it attractive. Not enough budget ? Ok, let us propose some equity.
Imagine, new shares are somewhat printed money since a top caliber will make the whole company more valuable too. Everybody wins, and that is a nice transition to become a brand ambassador then team manager if interested.
So I think Ferrandis or any riders, through financially sound agents, should try to work it out, thinking 10 or 20 years plans instead of 1 year deals, in term of tax it can be worthwhile too (i.e. the monster million from the Monster cup).
I’m sure some close connected to Beta my know the reasons why they signed the two riders they have under contract. I it’s been a while since I’d seen either ride much, had to google/racerX etc., both riders are respectable, but not to the level of others such as DF. Companies make decisions for many reasons and most we do not know, at least I don’t. In talking to my Beta dealer they want to grow the business. I’d guess they signed riders eager to get a ride/job with respectable racing backgrounds. But also clean up good, speak good and be an integral part of the business. But that just my guess.
That’s a pretty red plate on such an awful bike.
This is when you see the real impact of teams like JGR, RCH, and Butler Bros KTM leaving the sport. Not enough 450 factory bikes to go around, unfortunately.
Pit Row
LOL, what youre saying about Ferrandis is the exact same thing that you could say about Anderson
He is a proven champion, and has made it in the top 3 quite often
Kawy had them signed awhile ago. Not their fault . Bad timing on contracts.
He should get Suzuki to give him Larry brooks and a box van. He would have better results than on the blue pig 2.0, and still wax the factory Kawi boys
A PC Kawi would be a cool options.....ok, in dream land for fans anyway
Dylan needs to sign a prove it contract. He is going to price himself out of a ride the way he is handling it.
DF has missed some races as well, but I,m glad someone read through my post.
I believe DV did it mainly for fun & change (TV show & Moving to Texas).
I'm pretty certain DV could've stayed with a factory team if he wanted to.
On a side note:
Team BooKoo was really Holigan Racing.
Michael put a lot of money out of his own pocket into that team from my understanding.
I believe the reality TV show they did also paid ok.
That whole BooKoo thing ended badly with BooKoo having new investors and them screwing Holigan on sponsorship money/payments.
