Pretty amazing Chase ran his fastest lap of the race the last lap and was only .033 seconds slower than Jetts fastest lap the whole race. It was awesome seeing Chase push that hard his bike was swapping all over the place he was blowing through the forks, that was bad ass and something you don't see from him often almost Tomac style riding.
I doubt Jett makes that mistake again he will probably try to build up a bigger lead before slowing up a bit now, at least big enough for him to have some warning from a pit board. Hell he will probably practice motos going from fastest lap time to +2 seconds and back again.
Looking past the obvious floor seeking missile issues, that have been covered and talked about every which way by this point, Chase is still a huge talent and pretty much as fast as they come and I'm still patiently waiting to see him bring it all together and get on the top step again.
Chase never shorts you on effort. It would be easy to give up after all the crashes he’s had. Always gives it his all, shakes hands after the race, and talks to the media. Hard to not root for the kid
So in reality it's basically post #578 about Jetts awesomeness?
More about Chase's awesomeness lol.
Jett got all this praise about coming through the pack too but Chase passed about as many people as Jett did and has multiple times this year.

If the KTM is a little more balanced from a handling standpoint (does not turn as sharp), I wonder if that will result in fewer crashes next season? I have never seen a guy tip over or crash the same way, over and over and over again. Most of the time when he crashes/tips over he is too far over the front of the bike as others have said.
I love his determination though, he is a great role model for young racers, dude does not quit and is not afraid to lose.
Chase needs to figure out that front end....MY GOD... just stay up for 1 moto.
My $.02 is that Chase's problems aren't bike related. I may be proven wrong, but he has a bit of the Davalos syndrome. All the speed to win. . . A LOT, but just can't keep from finding the ground. He's not necessarily as bad as Davalos, but the bike hasn't been the problem with a lot of these riders. I like Chase, and I hope I'm wrong.
It definitely seemed like Jett backed it down a bit while Sexton kept charging and Jett didn't realize the gap had closed.
I kind of agree, but we know how mental this is for a lot of dudes, if he likes the orange bike then changing bikes could mentally seem/feel like an improvement for Chase. Whether it's a real, genuine improvement or just a perceived improvement, it could still give him what he needs to get the job done or stay off the deck (at least as frequently).
I bet we've all seen our share of placebo effects or expected results from changing something, like if you think this new part/bike will be more stable then it ends up feeling that way regardless of the reality.
And this is before taking into account if the bike is actually more stable or if he just generally gets in with it better than ol' red.
Id normally agree its hard to blame bike setup for crashes but when you look at Chase all of his crashes are very similar and usually front end related. Everyone says his riding style is to blame but its not like he's riding in some wild looking obviously wrong way.
Maybe he can try to not rely on front end grip so much but maybe that's what makes him so damn fast 95% of the time. Its not unrealistic to think a new bike/suspension setup can bring that 95% to 99%.
It would be different if he was exploding himself all the time but he literally falls over most of the time, he probably has the best crash to injury ratio in the field haha.
If anything, it’s impressive he does what he does with as much as he crashes.
Guy is a stud, i feel like him and AP don’t get enough due credit.
Those couple laps while he was following Jett before he went down during the second moto, Chase looked the best I’ve seen this entire year.
Taking perfect lines, bike was super planted and stable, no sense of panic or anything. Dare I say he looked better than Jett during that short time.
Really too bad he hit neutral in that turn
Do the teams have to run OEM transmission designs? MotoAmerica made it legal a couple years ago from them to have a lever to lockout neutral to avoid hitting neutral. Make the transmission 5 up and have nuetral all the way down but have a lockout they hit to block nuetral.
What you mean to say is, "Chase was close to going a whole race day without tucking the front end"😄
This right here.
Chase not gonna look that fast ever again with KTM.
Five crashes in one day.
Pit Row
Uggghhhhhh... There's 2 motos left, for the love of god can he just win 1 race..
Win a race? Just finish a damn race weekend without hitting the deck. That’s as good as a victory in my eyes
Martin Davalos? Jordon. AC when pushing. RJ also. Mookie also. First 3 with a lof of washed out fronts.
The common thing is, when they push the pace, they go down.
Im thinking there is less than 20% chance this will be fixed with another bike brand for Chase.
Bullshit asshole, no one likes the tuna here!
Ricky Bobby!
I feel AP gets too much credit.
The end of that second Moto was so much fun to watch. We haven't seen Jett get pressured too often and have to push but that Moto was definitely one of those rare instances. If only Chase hadn't washed the front earlier we may have been in for a real treat.
Yeah..... And RC was committing career suicide when he went to Suzuki. Dungey wouldn't even win another race much less a title on the KTM.
difference is.. Suzuki was probably the best 2 stroke at that time.. and then KTM built there bike around Dungey.
Now KTM wont even let you change suspension
Looking forward to a Chase special edition on the KTM.
