What's a deganite?

Over the years I have seen a lot of folks head to the parking lot for many reasons. They all had one thing in common. The look on their faces. Most of the time without speaking.

Listening to one of Matthes podcasts about how Haiden went by the HRC trailer while laughing and pointing on Hunters broken bike to start drama, i can say that i am mighty fine with karma sorting his championship hopes out.

What you are saying is not correct.  Apparently, the HRC guys said that Haiden came by and pointed and laughed that Hunter did not have the red plate any longer.  He was not laughing at a broken bike. It won't go well here, but even Matthes mentioned that he is 17 and the maturity (or lack thereof) is a factor.  I would hope that you would retract or correct your statement since it's spreading false rumors.

I personally disagree with Matthes' take on the fans chanting USA, since that type of thing is across the board. Nothing wrong with some patriotism in sports.  Matthes seems to think that Haiden is trying to get the fans to go against Hunter and that is not true as JT$ pointed out.

Matthes thinks that Haiden talking about putting the USA back on the top of the podium is "shitting on foreigners" and when fans chant USA, they are a mob.  Does anyone seriously think that if a national were held in Australia, the Aussie fans wouldn't be chanting Oi Oi Oi?

When you’re a young kid growing up with everything handed to you off a silver platter you will lack maturity and respect for others. Deegan has always had the best bikes, practice tracks at home, unreal motorhomes etc. Take someone like the Lawrence brothers or Webb who worked for everything they had and look how mature they are and were when they first went pro. And like Hunter said the kid is just saying all the crap his dad and parents are telling him.

Funny I watched Wharton and Baggett both help push bikes back at Freestone in 2010. Deegan is a punk regardless and everyone has seen it in his videos. Sounds like he got a taste of humble pie yesterday. Hopefully he learns from it moves on.

I think that Haiden is fast enough he doesn't need to pull the WWE style BS his dad did.  Bryan is  very  good at marketing , I think his, him VS TP show helped him  become considered  one of the top guys. He was a great rider, but better marketing guy.

Haiden is fast enough he doesn't need to make up a rivalry , they will develop naturally . I really hope that they take the classier road and cut out some of the stuff people have posted about in this thread.  I used to dislike Bryan because of the Mulisha stuff, and was pleasantly surprised how he was on newer interviews and on his Youtube channel. I have grown to respect his marketing skills and was considering myself a Fan. Not that he or anybody else cares if I change my mind or not. But If he ends up coaching Haiden into a Metal Mulisha style character I will return to feeling the way I did during Bryans  time in Freestyle MX.

I don't mind a little trash talking here and there. I wish that RV was the way he is now ,while he was racing. I just don't think that there needs to be a " bad guy" in MX/SX like the character Bryan was in FMX. When he was racing the off road trucks , I started to warm up to him . And He has done an amazing job as a Dad to raise Hailey and Haiden to be so hungry to be successful racers. It's pretty amazing .

I'm not making excuses.  When I say he's 17, I'm saying that because it's a factor here.  I know I said and did things at 17 that as an adult I'm embarrassed by. I'm willing to bet most other people can say the same. I recall a young RC being so upset that he threatened to kill Matthes which is far more egregious than pointing at a red plate and laughing.  However, if Haiden said this, it should be a teachable moment for him.  His parents and team should sit him down and talk to him about what it means to be professional.

It's also matters that the story is correct and to not just make things up and spread rumors that are not true.  But one thing I learned  is that there are people who are going to dislike Haiden no matter what he does which is why I usually avoid these types of discussions to begin with.  I started a topic saying I was bummed about Haiden's bike breaking because he's been doing so well, and it's turned into grown men being far more immature than Haiden has been. Calling him a punk, saying karma got him, etc.

nuanced and balanced post? rational? fair? sir, this is vital. That's not allowed here. Go be normal somewhere else, in this thread, it's all about 45 year olds talking crap about children. Move along.

I'm a big Haiden fan, and did not like Brian at all during his FMX career.

Things Haiden has been saying, I've been pushing it off as him being young. Every week he's saying and doing dumber things and it's disappointing. It really does seem like Brian is coaching him on what to say and act, and they're all the wrong damn things. Losing me more and more as a fan every week.

I’m willing to bet the interpretation of Deegans motives while walking by the HRC pit is entirely off. Most people jump to the wrong conclusions, especially this day and age, where most people are guided by preconceived notions and bias.

He’s deservedly earned a lot of respect this season. He’s not just hype, and that is his greatest accomplishment thus far. He doesn’t need a win a championship this year. That will come so long as he continues on this path.

Karma was a first thing that came to my mind when he DNFed.

He’s really won me over. I was always a little skeptical, like he’s gotten a lot handed to him, had better equipment as an amateur, etc., but he has won me over. He has shown he has speed, fitness, heart. You can’t fake the level of fitness he’s shown. Also, I love how he rings the 250 out. He’s moving around so much on the bike, similar to barcia. I like his style. He’s really won me over.

I couldn’t be more conflicted. It’s definitely entertaining when someone has a big personality with style and the speed to back it up. I wanted to make comparisons to RV’s rookie year, but sadly I think we’re watching the new age Alessi or even Barcia. He’s really entertaining now, and I’m certain he’ll be a 250MX champion but I feel like I’ve seen this before.

Whether he pointed and laughed at Hunter's bike for a engine issue, or red plate, or whatever it was, someone spotted it.  So, I'm willing to bet, that no matter how fast, how good he becomes in the future, he just made an ass out himself in front of a team that probably will never give him the time a day later on in his career.  HRC is as straight as an arrow, and professional as they come.  They do not stand for childish bullshit one bit, no matter the age of a rider, nor talent level.  This may very well bite him hard down the road.......  Karma is a bitch.  A REAL BITCH.  Some lessons learned hurt more than others.

I was impressed with outlook and character Dangerboy showed in the JT$ interview. You have to believe this kid has a few championships in his future

Is it the AMA MX2 outdoors championship or the weekly Deegan show, unbelievable how much attention the guy gets.

He was close to Hunter because of the errors of Lawrence not the opposite.

The announcers are so busy talking about it the they totally missed the bike failed.

No he is the most  hyped rider by the media in the pits.

The way he rides, defends his lines and act to the other riders he's an absolute asshole.

I see you are dutch so as someone cocky you won't be bothered by someone being an "asshole" too ; your words, not mine (I lived 2 years in the sky low wet holland, not hated it but let us say I didn't gell so much with most stingy dutchies I met). So in a few words, no, there is no conspiracy theory, no media built his 1.3 million fanbase where 99% are fully behind him. You don't get that if you are an asshole btw. The fact that one of the hottest rookies in decades comes in challenging for a title is not interesting ?  Really ? 1 DNF away and it was close to be a RV 06. I agree too, Hunter which I am a big fan of too since Matterley in 2017, 25, got 2 bad motos. But it was a run and the kid was 1.5 seconds away, 5 points down, with 5 motos to go. That is called coming up short. And now sorry it is not fully directed to you but everybody tries to shit on the kid ??? WTF. A+ for the effort. Let us talk about the sport with what we see with unbiaised eyes and enjoy what the riders are delivering instead of shitting on every pro we can. Any kid pushing the envelop within the top 10 just to make us entertained on a forum are risking there health every day, let us have a bit of respect for the guys (if you are frustated, the guys we didn't become), but guys that can also spend 2 millions through 11 surgeries to keep their arm or their back and legs. It is not just a video game. The 250 was one of the greatest season (on par with 06 to 15ish, crazy and fun). Great season. That was honestly a heck of a season. Just enjoy it and if you can't soccer can be great for you.

Deegan seems to be more J-Law than say RV, Dungy or Eli to me. Once he has bagged a few titles, become his own self and presented a broader appeal, people will gravitate his direction. Thus far he is 0-1 for championships. He may pull this Outdoor Championship out, but he needs a lot of things to go his way. To use his age as a crutch seems a bit ironic. See Jett for reference. As always, time has a way of sorting these things out.

Interesting to go back and watch the difference in reactions between Hunter and Haiden when both of their bikes stopped. Tells you all you need to know.

WTF are you talking about? Did Hunter start to push his bike the way Haiden did or did he just drop it and walk away? They both showed emotion which is fully understandable but to claim that Hunter handled it better is complete BS….FFS…Just what point are you trying to make here?

Calm down Don, it’s not good for the heart. Take a breath and please read again, slowly if you need to, what I wrote…..

I didn’t say one, or who, handled it better than the other, just saying watch it and make up your own mind. But for me at least, it was very telling.

Deegan wasnt even a favorite to win the title lol.  A top 5 at the end would be a great start of. His career.

"His parents and team should sit him down and talk to him about what it means to be professional.  "

Yeah, but isn't Brian the reason his kid is kinda arrogant and disrespectful? And what the eff is a "mulisha", anyway?! Was he trying to drive home the point that he's poorly educated, while trying to sound tough? It's lame as sh!t. Take an English class.

And, again, chanting your country at a foreign rider is completely disrespectful, even at MXON. You aren't your country. You should try to be a respectful, kind, decent human being, capable of appreciating the accomplishments of others, even if those riders aren't from your beloved nation. The jingoism is embarrassing.

Sounds like he dropped a valve and it quit in about a lap according to the ML interview. Bummer. As they say "that's racing".Not sure about the Star bike but I thought I saw 4 green bikes at the start of the second moto. Funny they don't talk about legendary horse power when that happens.
