Currently using VPR in both my two stroke and four stroke… it has a pretty strong odor but nothing crazy. I bought some MRpro6 and holy crap, even with a tiny bit left in the tank it makes my whole house stink.
I was thinking of making the switch to U4.4 because it doesn’t cost anymore than VPR and offers greater performance gains so why not. Does this fuel stink as bad as MRPro6? Like I said I’ve been using VPR for years and it never made my entire house stink the way MRpro6 did, and if U4.4 is just as bad I think I’ll wait until I move to a house where I can build a detached garage lol.
Smell is kind of subjective, but to me, yes U4.4 is as bad as MRPro6.
It’s a great smell don’t get me wrong haha I just don’t know if it’s a great thing to be breathing in everyday lol. Waking up and going downstairs first thing in the morning and you can really smell it lol
There are a few gasses I can smell from outside of my garage.
u4.4 (not terrible)
renegade sx2 (can smell outside the garage in a sealed can)
sp107 is pretty stinky. I can smell it in the cab of my ram on the way to the track.
sp3 is the least smelling, oxygenated and leaded, great for a 2 stroke
What you are smelling is essence of cancer. This stuff IMO is highly toxic.

Try. Ets, crazy wicked smell
I respectfully disagree.
MR Pro 6 and 6 HT is the most noxious shit ever, I have to keep the cans in a sealed bag in my garage...
U4.4 smells like roses in comparison...
All of the VP blends that contain MTBE for oxygenation carry a stronger odor like that. If you want something more tolerable like VPR, avoid that additive. Although they typically won't be as good quality of blend. I'm not sure what ETS uses in their pro stuff, but that's on a whole other level of stench. A rep did say their upcoming 24 k2 blend won't be as sour smelling.
Totally agree have to keep the pro 6 in the shed in the backyard when we ran it in our four strokes LOL U4 not a problem in the garage LOL
I went to Mammoth in 2009 and my buddy had a can of MR2. I could smell that stuff through the walls of our condo rental. Crazy!
I don't think its the MTBE that is responsible for the severe stench... MTBE smells, somewhat sweet from memory, I've worked with it before and don't remember the smell traveling as far as those pro fuels.
VP M5 is the worst smelling fuel this side of nitro. Absolutely can’t stand it.
I'm guessing you're storing it in an attached garage? If so, definitely check that door seal. Make sure its not damaged, cracked, missing pieces, or feeling airflow around the door edges. If you can smell it in the house, there's only 3 ways that happens.
(1) Leaking airflow from door seal to garage.
(2) Its on your clothes, and you just leave your dirty clothes on the floor and don't wash them right away.
(3) You spilled some inside the house.
Yes it is an attached garage. I’ll have to look into that for sure. I don’t plan on using that particular fuel again, but still nonetheless it’s a good idea to make sure that door is actually sealing well.
the renegade stuff is the worst i've ever encountered. Somebody left a pale with residual in it at unadilla across the lane way and my god my pit stunk. Think in NY now we can only get the u4E blend which is ethanol for oxygenate. Somehow T2 ( have a drum of this in my shop) and T4 have snuck under the radar, atleast at the big dirt car shops that will order a drum for me.
I dont really notice U4 leaching out of the pale very badly, I have a half used pale in my garage for my 4 stroke and it doesnt smell.
are you leaving it in the bikes? So its leaching out of the tank? I can smell race fuel if i just turn the bars on my 2 stroke in the garage, and the tank gets drained when im done riding so the fuel doesnt go stale.
I only leave small amount in the tank, but that’s definitely where the smell is coming from. At first I thought there was no way it was coming from the bike because there was such a small amount in it, so I put the metal fuel container in my shed and it made absolutely no difference. I’m hoping u4.4 won’t be so bad.
If I for some reason don’t use up most of the fuel in the tank after riding I do pull it out of the bike and put it back in the metal container to help keep it fresh.
To let everyone know, I just transferred T2 from metal can into my fuel jug for riding tomorrow, and I soaked my tennis shoes. I really need to get one of those can spouts 🤦♂️.
Even T4 smells although nothing like the other stuff. I can smell the stuff soon as I open the garage door.
These race fuels do release a strong odor.....strong enough to get us evicted.
My rider, his chick and myself had a two bedroom house in Wildowmar, LA. I would do all the bike builds in our single garage. I kept all our cans of VP in our Moto van but the smell of three bikes in garage was enough to get the neighbors worked up.
On our way back from Washougal we got the phone call and later arrived home to find body Corporate waiting for us with threats of law suits from the neighbors.
We moved out within one week to avoid further issues.
Nevertheless, I love the smell of VP and ETS.
Pit Row
I hate to tell you Bro but so is pump gas.
