The rule is fine in principle, but in practice it is abused by docs and athletes.

This Deegan cheater thread turned into an IV thread? Then I noticed something. In 2014 when this was brought up about the Millville James Stewart IV nurse incident. I found the rules for 2014 which basically says, you can't get an IV (unless) deemed medically necessary. Then you can't race the rest of the day (unless) said doctor releases you and are good to go. So essentially you could get a "medically necessary IV" between motos, then be released by your own doctor that's at the track giving you the saline, and line up for 2nd moto. If the AMA walked into your trailer during it. If the AMA doesn't know, nothing happens. BUT fast forward to 2023 rules. It now says if you get an IV for any reason its 24 hour ban from racing. So you could get IV's all week up to 8 am Friday morning press day and still be within legal time limit to race that Saturday. There's always ways around it, but it doesn't say its against the rules during the week. So Its legal now in my eyes.

Adderall is nasty shit. I've taken it a few times in college to help study(don't have ADD). Stay up all night laser focused on studying.

1000% would make my riding better if I wanted to eat one or 2 every time I rode. More focus, more alert, more energy, faster reaction etc... Maybe it's different for someone with severe ADD but for me it gives quite the energy and focus.

Adderall is basically a less intense version of meth. It shouldn't be allowed in our sport.

If you're in pretty decent shape at 55, why in the hell would any health nut comment on a public forum about it and think Brian looks anything but normal unless he's jealous?  He's not even that big; just lean and toned.  If you're not a little jealous of Brian and Haiden's success; what's wrong with you?

Honestly I am not a big fan of the whole "what to take when" topic.

In private, with insiders willing to talk about it in pm's, why not, of course ; but in a sport where the racing demography is pretty young (with many kids in mini's then a lot less later), with crazy mini dads, and on the main open forum globally, I don't think some crazy dads should start to think they need something to get to the next level. Because it is BS.

That is why it is not great to talk about it and why it is "oh no, not this shit again" face palm. Tomac is one of the many great ambassadors for that ; he didn't take it seriously until he was like 13, letting the kid lives and makes his choices, and that is why he managed to be at its peak between 25 to 30+ while many with his pedigree retired at 27 because they were burnt out. JMB was eating kit kats next to Stanton. Jlaw was riding drunk and partying harder. Jett likes donuts. The sport is really not about what to take when ...

I'm sure there are already moto dads giving their kids stuff that they shouldn't either legally or morally. Plenty of highschool kids taking PEDs in the US whether it's for sport or just looks.

Also citing Tomac here is tough. Dude has elite genetics and probably has the god given VO2 max of a tour rider.

May be but the sport is really not about that. Any former fast guy with a fat belly would still smoke the next prodigee 10 seconds a lap. Having endurance is not that hard too, especially when you are a kid spending 10 or 20 hours a week on a bike. Train the kids to ride properly and read lines, focus on moto and recovery, do constant testing about anything, that works 10x better.

Uhhh, because it’s a public message board and it had to do with the topic. And it was basically a compliment to Brian if anything, meaning if he’s NOT  on something, I want to know his secret because he’s in such great shape, not because the reason he’s in great shape is because he’s on something. And I can say in all honesty, I’ve never been jealous of anyone, that’s a character flaw that you seem to have!

That makes sense.  I feel if Brian was taking anything he'd be way more jacked than he is.  Glad I misinterpreted your meaning.

Replacement level test doesn't get you jacked but it does help with fat retention. Not to mention recovery to ALLOW you to work out more in the first place. If he's not lifting heavy and on replacement levels not heroic levels his body comp is the result

Performance drugs disgust me...in the sports arena.  The entire point of a competition is to determine the best athlete on the day.

There is already a huge gulf between wealthier factory riders and the medical treatments available to the privateers.

They ALL get injured.  Stuff that speeds recovery shouldn't be allowed unless Doc Bodnar gives it to all of them.

Cheating is cheating...it's not the quality of a true competitor.  If you think otherwise...then you don't want to see the best racer...just the best cheater.

Is USADA and WADA still governing over the outdoors? Haven't really heard much about that lately. Don't particularly care for the organization either.

Wasn't there a poster on Vital some time ago from LeBig that was basically the biggest douchebag on the planet? Something like MXGeoff. I like how the OP referred to someone making hollow accusations as someone who calls a spade a spade. Especially over a young man who has good endurance. Like teens and younger men don't have an endless stream of energy especially when they train regularly.

I'm not a huge fan of the Deegans per se, but Brian seems genuinely interested in his kiddos career at this point which is admirable. I could see him wanting to stay in good shape so that he can push Haiden while they're working out. That's speculation, but it doesn't surprise me that Brian stays fit with how involved he is in his kids lives.

Agesis  is supposedly in charge of it ..i read somewhere on here some one said they tested the top 3 riders at Red Bud and said everyone was clean . maybe for drugs ..but  sorry  they cant check for PEDS at the track its got to go to the lab ..

It's unfair to single out just Deegan, but at the same time I think its a little naïve to think that doping is not happening in our sport.

With the history and connections a lot of riders have to trainers/people with professional cycling backgrounds, I think it's pretty likely some big names have dabbled in stuff over the years, or if not then they probably got the option too.

Yes bike skill, set up and mental strength is huge, but so is the fitness side of it

I'd 100% rather be be proven wrong though. Lets get some test results.

I wouldn’t say anyone is singling him out. He opened himself up to this kind of speculation.

I’m okay with PED in the pro levels. If they want to do that to their bodies, let them. If that helps them become a better entertainer and spectacle, good for them and we should expect it.

In the amateurs, it shouldn’t be done.

In the amateurs it can get 10x worse because most have no clue about what they are doing on that matter. That is not something to be promoted unless each week we want "food poisoning", "arm pump", etc excuses. Most amateurs / rookies can't even get to 25 minutes motos, let us start with that and proper winter training...

Stewart said it "slowed things down" for him instead of his ADHD making his mind ping-pong and him be distracted. He'd been prescribed it legally by a physician for years...and of course we all know what happened when his people (whoever "his people" were) neglected to file A TUE for his use. When he came back from his WADA race ban, without being able to medicate his condition, he crashed in stupid places where even amature's don't crash...and that could've been the reason for the highside crash leading to Dungey hitting Stews head when he fell on that berm.

I'm damn sure not for straight up PED use, but that mess with Stewart was lame.

They don't make you "lean and toned." Diet and only diet does. Take all the trt, gear, Hgh, you want and eat like a pig. You will get fat. There's no secret. Enhanced or not, to be in shape you still have to work hard

This will hound him for the rest of his career.

In the amateurs, it shouldn’t be done.

It’s worse. I know 5 very prestigious amateurs who took them so they could get stronger for the big bikes. Mini riders started taking them in the mid 80s.

I guess you missed where I said that?

When you hit a certain age, I don’t give a shit how much you diet, you don’t grow muscle, get lean, and suddenly have bulging veins without help.
