Thanks buddy, appreciate that.
Depends on if the whole bike is revealed by then
im more interested if they get enough bikes in be the cut off, which i believe is 1 march,
Releasing pictures of the race team truck frame next month.
5 months until A1 and we see pic's of a frame ?? Ridiculous.
Don't they/any new manufacturer get a 1 or 2 year exemption from the homologation rule?
No, they don't. They have to meet the 400-unit rule just like everyone else.
As far as I'm aware, they took delivery of a brand new race trailer from Featherlite a few months back. Which had to have been ordered almost two years ago.
Yeah, but that’s just have 200 in the USA by March and the next 200 by July.
What do those bitchin trailers sell for? Does the team own it or is it leased through an intermediary?
Bobby isn't going to attach his name to a pipe dream.
They've gone up quite a bit due to material prices in the past couple of years. The trailer fully built out...no awning and no graphics on it...without a tractor to pull it...gets them into the mid $700,000s now. Something like that.
With a new tractor, extended with a water box, graphics, awning, etc...you're definitely north of a million dollars. Maybe even breaking 1.2ish.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
ML, wouldnt they be eliglble for the one year works bike exemption? Like yamaha with henry in 97? Or is that only the 450 class they could use it in? Not saying they would, and it would only be good for single bike on the track, but that exemption still does exist correct?
Pit Row
I believe that rule doesn’t exist anymore
he’s saying SX 2024. we’re already past March.
It's March and July of 2024...
Just imagine them having to hand make all them bikes to make the cut off. That’s a lot of work
What would happen if they did not have enough bikes in by the deadline? By then they could race the entire SX series. I'm sure they will not have a problem bringing the bikes in. But what is the penalty if they did not. I was looking in the rule book and could not find the penalty.
Would the riders race results just be erased from the record books? and other riders bumped up in the results? Maybe I missed what the penalty is , But I did not see anything written. Is it just one of those rules that is enforced at the discretion of the AMA and they would make it up as they go if it ever happens?
Like I said , I'm sure they will have enough bikes in to meet the requirements , I was just wondering what the penalty would be.
83,389 Triumphs have been sold in 2022. I don’t think it will be a real challenge for them to manufacture 400 straight forward MX bikes to meet the homologation requirements.
Is the intent of the slow roll just an attempt to build hype? It’s not like there is a competition advantage the other teams are gonna be scrambling to catch up to as soon as they catch a whiff of the bike, before they have seen a single race of results.
Lars said the Honda trailer cost approx 1mill. And that was purchased 2 years ago.
The rule is a bit weird when you can go racing in January and have to have 200 bikes sold by march.
What happens if they start racing in Jan but don't sell any bikes? Do they get kicked out in march? Or fined?
Can they just presale 10 bikes to 20 different dealers and sale our units are sold but waiting on shipping. Or do they need to be delivered.
They might show us earth shattering foot pegs at A1..
They don’t have to be sold by March they have be available to dealers by March….
Post a reply to: Triumph, will they be racing at A1 2024?
