He literally said on the broadcast that he needed a break after losing his last race and he is still currently on break..

He’s slim now, clearly getting ready to break some records next year. 31-0 stamp it.

Total speculation, but given that we haven’t seen him on a bike since he retired (even at his JS7 ride days at his/his parents’ track,) I wouldn’t be surprised if he claimed a career-ending injury insurance policy.

I always wondered this about ex pros.  You see some that have consistently ridden for fun after their career is over and others that have walked away and never looked back. Damon Huffman for example.  We all started riding because we love riding dirt bikes, some were able to take if further than but but in the end does that kill the love of riding?  I know at 55 I can’t get enough and see Nick Wey, Tedesco, Hanny, McGrath, Glover, Emig, Ping, Chicken, Bradshaw along with many others that still spin some laps for fun but often wonder about why most other retirees seem to hate something they once loved. There are more that don’t ride than there are ones that do and that just seems strange to me.

I get that and also get those with injuries but in the end when the job is over dirt bikes are still fun and many of them openly admit that, but never re mount.  I just find that odd.  If something is fun to you and you are able, why not enjoy the smile/ride. Hell, we are all walking medical experiments ourselves and remount, most times, before our injuries fully heal.

Yeah, he's stated that he'd like to go race Lorettas again at some point.

This is what I was thinking. I don’t think the OP was talking about pro racing (I hope). I hope he finds the joy in just riding again. You know he could still do some amazing things on a bike without the stress of pro racing.

You can still ride when you claim those usually. It’s a policy on being able to compete professionally at the highest level.

Jeff Emig cashed one out I believe. Same for Weston Peick and they both still ride.

He mentioned on one of this first Bubba's World podcasts that he can't really ride because of too many injuries, previous crashes totally spooked him.  But I would love to see him at Vet Nationals, Straight Rhythm, etc. or something, just having fun out there and not trying to make a statement.

One day they should have a "Masters Class" with Carmichael, Reed, RV, RD, Stewie, etc. having fun just doing an exhibition race to draw fans.  I'd pay big money to attend that.

As they all get into their 40s we’ll see them at some stuff more often. They need to get away from the sport a bit. Think how MC and Emig are always at LLs or Mammoth. They’ll eventually get back to doing it for the love.

I think they all should stay retired, or just do 125 races for fun, and not take it too seriously.

Except for Reed. He can do one off races forever.  He still has the fire.

That's what I was thinking, too. Not out of any dislike for each other, but you know if those two got on a track together again, and the competitive juices started flowing again, someone's getting hurt.
