I'm enjoying wsx. Its getting a lot of these guys more money. Its more racing to watch. Its not lcq guys like people like to claim. Funny how everyone says roczen is the only fast guy when hill won superpole.

Are there detailed results anywhere? I still don't know who won what besides the overall.

But if only that were true.

MLS is a financially successful sports league, with network TV deals, global sponsorships, good event attendance, and a waiting list for prospective investors.

The comparison still works. The MLS is a second tier league compared to the premier league.

I think WSX would be quite content with second tier, provided that it was a financial success.

Dont forget that there a lot of guys in the AMA now gonna make a ton of money , because WSX raised the bar.

Or else Masterpool would be racing for buttons, instead of $25k for making the top 20.

Plenty of places to get the full results.

+1 for fastest lap of the night. Lopes has an extra point in the 250s as well. Additionally Hill gets +1 for Superpole.

I watched an un-official youtube of the races that only showed the "main events" so my opinion may be skewed, but here are some random thoughts

1. Track designs have not been good at all, including last year. They keep making weird dog-leg corners that are very one-lined. Obviously the starts need improvement

2. The announcing was really bad, with the short race format and so much action packed into a short amount of time, 2 announcers is too much, they kept talking over each-other

3. I'm fine with it being 2nd tier riders, it actually makes the racing more exciting

4. I've said this about Triple Crowns, and I think WSX would be a good place to test a new format.

Race 1 should be an average length race, and race 2 should be LCQ length. Race 3 should be the longest and with an inverted start, whoever has the most points from the first 2 races gets last gate pick, 3rd race all points bump up by 1

5. With it being a short season, I think they should give points for all 3 races, and then points for the overall. You win all 3 races, you leave with 100 points (or 101 points if going with the format suggested in point #4)

Currently watching 2 days late on the DVR. So far Emigs tour of England has been more interesting than the racing to me.

Thankfully they told us 79 times that Lopes dislocated his shoulder or I may have forgotten.

One thing thats definitely better is that they got rid of the freestyle ramp for the finish line. That was gimmicky, def good to see that gone.

They should piece together some clips of Jett Lawrence watching the race while he puts his helmet on to go the the line for a 450 mx moto.

Ama motocross producers obviously think it is impossible to do that too much

$25000 for top 20 in the series?  AMA’s payout per race is embarrassing

Correct me if I'm wrong, but WSX's payout per race to the riders is $0.00.

Instead of down voting I'm inviting you to correct me. AMA purse is paid to the riders WSX purse is paid to the team, correct?

So, how much did Savatgy get from the FIM for his second place?

I'm guessing you won't say because you know it's less than he would have made from the AMA finishing second at Red Bud.

Idk but the riders get paid from the team. And I’m guessing it’s more than they’d make grinding out the outdoors or they wouldn’t be there

$3,000 for an overall. Pretty light. Entry fee is probably $300.

It depends on how you look at it.

It might not seem like much, but racing the nationals gives the riders a chance at getting a better seeding for SMX, and if you make the top 20, you're guaranteed to make at least 27k. Not to mention each of those three events will pay out over 400k to the top 22 riders instead of the top 40, making the night show like a regular SX race.

Still not great which brings me back to the original point. These guys are racing WSX because they can make more money or they wouldn’t be there.

How do you know what the racers are making in WSX? The teams are paid a certain amount and then get to decide what they pay their riders.

I don’t think it’s all about the coin.

Roczen has said why he’s doing it; he was at the stage he wasn’t enjoying racing. Now he is again. Guys like Brayton and Soubeyras get to extend their careers. While anyone not normally riding for a factory team, get to Jetset around the world, see new places and experience new things, all on someone else’s coin.
They get to fly in, everything else is taken care of for them, throw down without the normal stresses and get treated like a rockstar for the weekend. What privateer would not enjoy that, whether the money is good or not?

He's Savatgy's father.
