I know he’s getting paid by wsx, I know the moneys good, I know it’s not a suffer fest like outdoor motocross. With that being said, this sport is motocross. It all started with motocross, that’s why the respect is so big these guys can do it. Yes supercross is a whole new game of respect, but man how many people had/have a supercross track. This all started with motocross.

The more video-game it becomes, the less I'll care. A real-mans outdoor track with two 30+min or more is where you'll find the best athlete in the world.

Guess what's coming? AI machines, that do tricks and eat holy shit. Cool, and not. The future is tomorrow. 😒

To be honest and fair, I was all tuned into watching red bud and it was great. I seen highlights of wsx and… well it didn’t do it for me. I wish them luck, but I don’t see it.

For die hards, it will always be MX.  But for getting eyeballs and butts in seats (which all equates to money), it currently is and will continue to be SX.  Simply, its a better spectator sport.  Casual fans can enjoy SX much more than MX.  Better seats for viewing the whole track/race.  More races that are shorter races keeps people's attention better (face it, people have short attention spans due to phones, social media, etc.).  SX is structured more towards a circus style event/venue.  As a result, SX brings in more money and more people.  Love it, like, or hate it.  It is what it is.  I just hope we can keep MX alive.

It's also much easier to package SX for TV.

I agree/disagree. People want to see good racing. Hell Nascar had/has a huge following and they go in a circle and turn left. The outdoors is awesome and seeing the raw speed of riders is amazing. Motocross does need to evolve though. Everything from track prep to layout. Although incredible, nobody wants to see 24-0 and 5th place a minute off the leaders pace.

The slot car track prep needs to die asap.

Chad Reed is a paid shill at this point, of course he's going to say that SX only is the future

Reed is just salty because he always sucked complete wiener outdoors and launched himself to the moon the one year he wasn't a perpetual bridesmaid.

Why can’t it be both?

P.S. that’s not what Reed was saying…….

If I was only able to watch one series, it'd be MX, end of story.

To me it seems like motocross is more favourable to people who do ride/are into the sport and supercross is more favourable to people who don't ride.

Of course die hards love motocross, but the money and TV is in supercross.

Many of the riders would prefer SX year round too

MX Rules, cause that's what we all do. Forget Reed, who cares what he said?  Reed hated everyone, including sponsors, it's why he changed brands so so so much. No one has ever been kicked out as brand ambassador as Reed, and, it will happen with WSX, I'd put money on it. No one will care.

He believed he could win main events too when he was barely staying out of the LCQ, and He also considers himself not officially retired. He’s an accomplished racer, but his comments and insight on the future of the sport mean nothing. He’s saying that to secure a paycheck for the future.

Yep won a 450 motocross title, beat every American on the line except the GOAT in 04 (no shame in that), runner up in the World Title as a rookie, won motos at des Nations, but sux at outdoors 😂 Good try!

Because he is desperate for that paycheck.

I don't care how "Core" you are if you were investing your own money you would invest in SX over motocross any day of the week. The motocross series is doing great, but SX has the potential for many more eyeballs and that is good for everyone.

Correct. And there are more people in the world who don't ride than do.

Us minuscule percentage of riders aren't ever going to spend enough money to really grow the sport, so we must rely on those saturday night armchair fans to watch and buy the products that sponsor the riders. (Red Bull/Monster/progressive insurance etc)

What is this supposed to mean? I don't think Reed has ever been a brand ambassador
