Ok bro. Well Steve Matthes says "if you don't wear EKS Brand, you won't win" every week on his podcast. No one that's winning premier division titles wears that brand. Are you gonna go ahead and tell him he should stop saying that?

Even if the claim is dumb as f***, at least Eks isn't crap.

If you have a look at Hunter's Alpinestars goggles, you might notice something that looks similar to another brand named EKS on the market....

But that's not even what justifies your argument being being non-comparable. If you're trying to compare a podcaster's ad read for another company that's meant to be engaging and entertaining to a multi-million dollar venture that is self claiming to be the biggest and bestest because "I said so", I just don't even understand the correlation.

The hate comes from a percentage of America’s who forgot they make up 4% of a global market ( no disrespect to the ones who are for it ) if your  so certain it’s going to fail what’s the point stressing about it ?
Simply put supercross  makes a lot more money than outdoors,  in turn paying more and bringing more money to the sport , I’m surprised this wasn’t done sooner ( still not saying it will work that’s down to Bailey ) and I honestly don’t believe reeds lying about most riders being interested , travel the world doing sx all summer or go through 11 outdoor rounds earning peanuts breaking your back , going off this year so far riding tracks  that are prepped like shit also

I would love to see it succed but they shot themselves in the foot by the way they started the championship, you cannot sell a World Championship where the main riders are Ken Roczen and... Vince Friese? Kevin Moranz? retired guys like Brayton and Alessi?

On one hand people are saying WSX took all our privateers from the outdoors and the series sucks now. In the other hand people are saying that WSX is nothing but Roczen and privateers and that series is gonna suck. Well which is it?’

Supercross and motocross are awesome if you live in America, for most of us on the other side of the world WSX is the best and only real opportunity to see some top guys ride in the flesh. I did make it to Washougal in 2015 which was an amazing experience,  also went to 2x AusX opens here in New Zealand and my family got to see Ricky, Chad, Anderson, Wilson, Savatgy, Craig etc

For us outside of the US its not really about the racing, we just want to experience a Supercross in real life.

What top guys do you expect to see besides Roczen ...whose ironically being paid millions to be there, otherwise he wouldn't.

I'm not against it but I do believe it's going to fail. The backers are spending an absurd amount of money to bring one real superstar into it, the teams get paid and decide how much their riders will be paid which will no doubt become a problem for some riders getting stiffed by their teams and the way wsx shows their payout structure gives off the illusion its going to be a coup for the riders financially but I don't see that happening. Their structure and plan is very loose and already one of the rounds is rumored to be cancelled?

To me this smells of all the things mxdn comp park 2002 ....looks like smoke and mirrors so far and I just don't see it gaining any traction. I could be totally wrong but I doubt it. Wsx is spending an absurd amount of money based on their backers that likely won't see any return for a long time if ever and they'll likely pull out once they realize this. The logistics to go all over the world are a limiting barrier to entry as well for teams even though they're already on an approved list.

I'm all for new things but if history has shown in the dirtbike racing industry, everyone is way too quick to jump on fads before it becomes legitimate. There are a lot of examples of this from products to racing bodies. Anyone remember the imsa requirent we all had to pay for to ride tracks? ....I'm sorry and I don't mean to poo poo the wsx series I just don't see it succeeding long term. Paying riders like roczen a ridiculous amount tells a lot more about the haste to get it legitimized and going and I'm surprised more riders aren't extremely unhappy about what that says....

For me it represents what happened to amateur racing in the late 80’s-early 90’s.  They created a class/division for every age and rider ability.  So instead of a dozen packed classes of races per day running long motors, you had 50 classes of 5-6 riders running short motos.  It just sucked the life out of the sport.  Huge numbers of riders on the gates was phenomenal

Poor planning!!

Schedule it so it doesn’t compete with existing series and you will have success.

Do it the current way and the house of cards will ………

I just don’t like how they are promoting their series. When it comes to international supercross we have Paris etc   That’s enough.

also, We just had 17 rounds of supercross with All the guys.  Now they are taking riders from our series to race more supercross but it’s going to be like a lcq with a top rider sprinkled in. Not overly interesting

there are more international riders racing us motocross than will be on the gate of WSX.

That's enough? For you maybe, but there's big world that might want to watch some first class SX live..

As the guy above said, seems the riders that are choosing the WSX are important riders when competing in 'your' series but then are nothing but backmarkers when racing for WSX

If WSX schedules around the US outdoor series I’ll be a fan. If WSX chooses to to compete with our outdoor series then I’d like to see the AMA outdoors series “win” the competition for riders, factory support and fan support.

The truth is that I’ll watch both as long as I don’t have to pay more for WSX coverage, but I’ll blabber about how much WSX sucks and how the AMA outdoor races are real moto to everyone in the room anytime WSX is on. Last year WSX looked like AX in a bigger venue, the track and show was a big step below the standard set by US SX. Maybe WSX gets better this year?

Its usually never smart in business to copy anothers business and open the doors with the same menu.  They will likely fail because they are not better,  just a wider market that most of the world doesnt adhere to.  I think more daytona style races is the future,  they need to make the track wider through.  The narrow long layout causes too much follow the leader.  They need to use the track area with super wide 180 bowls that are difficult to protect.

This is correct.  99% of the "privateer" riders have no interest in moto because it is "hard", the wear and tear on bikes and parts is ridiculous compared to SX......and they don't make any money.  SX is a show up, jump similar obstacles (not easy of course), pits on pavement or inside, close to airports, great pit experience, and they make significantly more $.  I think the playoffs will help this, but right now those riders don't want to go outdoors and I hate that, but it's true.

Direction competition would be trying the same thing in the US, this is international a chance for people like me see some decent quality SX racing in my country/city, on the business front it's going to be hard for them to succeed and be profitable for them to stay afloat, I do see that as growth I mean how isn't it? Not only that it gives riders opportunity and tour the world they may not be Jett Lawerence or Sexton but a gives another revenue stream for people who have put their lives into the sport.

People seem to want growth but hate when they see growth around here, Deegan is doing miracles for this growth but a lot of people don't like him or his fans that are new to moto.

Taking SX to a global market is most definitely growing the sport .

Don't be so blinded....for it to succeed it has to have more than Kenny as a draw...If they were to get more top riders from SX that would normally race outdoors then the outdoor series suffers and could possibly be in trouble....so if one series grows and the other shrinks is it really growth or is it just shifting....the real growth would happen if they chose to race after MXGP and US outdoors is over....They would have more than Kenny that's for sure.

Then maybe the world can develop their "own" riders and not rely on US rider SX talent.

You guys realize the factories call the shots? Riders are contracted to ride both series so they can't just decide they want to go. If they are supercross only then they would have to go out of their own pocket. Their team is not obligated to send them overseas. The guys going are going with the hope of making more money there than racing the nationals and SMX here.

Exactly, you’re biased. Your opinion of what is and isn’t “crap” is biased based on whatever values you deem necessary. The marketing claim is not the problem with WSX, the problem is your biased, uneducated viewpoint of it.

See the NBA and the ABA. Or UFC and Pride or Strikeforce. Or the old AFL and the NFL

US motocross (or the factories) can step it up if they want their riders to stay outdoors.

The factory’s do call the shots and none of them are in the USA that’s a fact , if the oems jump onboard wsx the US side of it will do exactly what there told to do by the boss’s in Austria and Japan

Multiple reasons.

1. FIM/WSX went for the throat of the Nationals - F**K them for that.    The nationals is moto....pure and simple.

2. WSX is even more of a "circus" sideshow than US Supercross has become (but with 2nd rate talent).    Practiced to death acrobatics is all we're watching at this point.   The only good races in SX are now Atlanta Speedway and Daytona.   Rain is the only thing that makes any of the other stadiums interesting races at this point.

3.) Significantly increased risk of injuries.      Look at where we are for nationals after the horrendous toll on top talent.

As a side note:  I miss SX from the 80's/90's.    4 strokes have ruined the sport.  The electric geeks will diminish it further.

Well, EKS are great goggles, especially for their price (that's probably what makes you a winner if you use them, lol), and if you feel WSX has what it takes to be a major championship or delivers what it promised, I don't think I'm the one who's biased. Anyways...

Yeah, SMX, the AMA knee jerk.

After years of fucking the nationals and Sx, now they show the money. I DOUBT THE Smx will be around in a few years, where's that money coming from?

You’re shifting the conversation for some reason. The goggles were an analogy about the marketing strategy, because I wanted to show you that your own bias is what determines whether or not you agree with what is being marketed. You have no problem when EKS does it, because you’re biased toward respecting the product. It’s ignorant to believe WSX shouldn’t market the same way someone else does when they’re actually quite similar with regard to their marketing and respective market share.

Also, I never said that about WSX. You’re putting words in my mouth because I’ve deflated your logic without having to be biased. That’s called being educated.

They did this to American cycling too so everyone can get a trophy. Ruined the sport. Funnest races I ever did I finished mid pack in a stacked field.

WSX sucks the life away from the US Outdoor series. Without the WSX, we wouldn’t have such a depleted field. I know there are five top-tier factory guys out with legit injuries, but I believe the number of normal 5-15 placing riders would be much larger here if there was no other viable option.
