I realize most publications are west coast, but who would like to see some east coast off road shoot outs? Gncc type stuff! Most of us don’t ride/ race high speed desert stuff,

That is the reality of most dirtbike end users.
Off road is great bang for your buck as well.

I almost made the same post. I just can't relate any of their bike test to the tracks I ride. It's like I'm watching an episode of the jetsons

I’m sure they must be rougher than they look but the tracks in California look like riding a road with big jumps. Looks fun but definitely can’t relate to bumps, rollers and ruts that form on tracks I ride

Image stabilizing Go Pros will give the impression of smooth tracks. You need to experience Mt. St. Helen to believe.

A friend of mine runs this small format magazine and he does do tests. The tests and photo shoots are in sweet riding areas in New England.

What? Glen Helen is nothing like the tracks in the north east. I haven’t hit a real square edge since I moved east. Flying down St Helen’s and Budds creek are just two different beasts.

I checked out the link you shared. I am genuinely interested in subscribing as I am a PA trail rider. But, all the posts on the website are from 2020. Is it still being published?

I don't think he's keeping up with his website, but if you look on their Facebook page it's up to date.  They were just out at the KTM 2024 launch and he's doing some tests right now on the xcw's.

My bad. Glen Helen is a great place to test--if it works there, it probably ain't bad elsewhere. There is varied soil and the layout is great. But a bike could be great at Budds Creek or Southwick and scary at Glen Helen.

Moto is one thing. This post was about off-road. Aka GNCCs, Hare Scrambles, Enduros, etc... Very little on the east coast resembles anything out west. I have had this gripe for years. What works for out there does not work on the rocks, roots, and slimy crap we ride on in the eastern mountains. The bike shootouts tend to have a bias to the dry desert areas and that's it. Even most suspension companies have no clue how to setup for our conditions.

Would love to see something more east coast focused. When media tests off-road models at places such as Cahuilla Creek it does almost nothing for me. That is the farthest from what many of us ride.
